Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. STANG PARANORMAL NIGHT AT CRESSON Happy May fellow gear heads and mutants. It is May and car season is in full swing. It is my favorite time of year and this year was very special. For the first time in STANG Paranormal history, we did our first overnight ghost hunt at the infamous Cresson Sanatorium in Cresson, Pennsylvania. For this special occasion I wore my Satan is good, Satan is our pal t-shirt just for extra good luck at the sanatorium. The whole trip was quite an adventure starting with dinner at The Brick On Front restaurant which is also in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Coincidentally, they had satan wings on their menu, which is

ghost hunt, I requested all my wings to be covered in Satan’s sauce. Well damn it lived up to its name but like a trooper I ate them all. The restaurant is a must go to if you are in the Cresson area. Great food, service, and the owner is sweetheart. So with a stomach full of Satan’s wings, my satan shirt, and the prospect of having a burning ass later in the night from the wings, I was ready to take on ghost hunt. Cresson Sanatorium

Cresson started off as a Tuberculosis Sanatorium which treated more than 40,000 patients suffering from tuberculosis between 1913 and 1964.The sanatorium was both a hospital and long-term residential care facility, treating both individuals and entire families who had tuberculosis. During the 1960s as TB became more treatable, the sanatorium was repurposed into a state hospital to care for the mentally-challenged. In 1987 SCI Cresson opened as a medium-security correctional facility for male inmates. SCI Cresson closed June 30, 2013, with the State citing the antiquity of the prison and rising costs of maintaining it as the primary reasons for the closure. Our overnight tour was filled with odd experiences. In one prison cell building a voice box kept calling out for Lisa, which is the name of one of our STANG Paranormal members, who incidentally found the sanatorium and was standing right

The dilapidated state of the walls and pipes and the smell of the decaying material on the floors and walls was harkened the image of walking down a tunnel with the dead as you walk to your final abyss. In the church there was reports that a water bottle was thrown around at tour staff members and a shadow was seen on the stage, where the pastor would say their sermons. Cresson has a very old and rich history. What lies in the ruins of what used to be Cresson, what was birthed there, out of the pain and suffering of the people who lived there still cries in the night. As always, enjoy the ride and if you hear thumps in the night, do not be afraid to thump back, for they are just saying hello.

THE PEOPLE THAT I HAVE MET AND FRIENDS I HAVE MADE JUST BECAUSE OF A CAR IS SOMETHING I’LL CHERISH FOREVER. This is AZULA 5 OH! We got this car back in September 2021 and it’s not our first Mustang together. We owned a 2006 Mustang GT and a 1999 Mustang GT together. When I (Justin) was younger I was huge into video games but never got into racing games until later. Just seeing all the customization you could do to make something your own really appealed to me and I knew
Our Mustang has a custom hydro dipped pony, blacked out 5.0 badges, custom Coyote deck lid emblem and we just recently added some awesome Oracle color changing headlights! It is also equipped with a BBK Blackhawk cold air intake, X pipe and Flowmaster outlaws, runs an E85/93 flex tune data logged and tuned by Lund Racing. Steeda short throw shifter, sits on Ford Racing track shocks/springs and BMR drop springs with IRS braces, GT350R sway bars, and BMR rear poly vertical links to top off the suspension. Our Interior includes a GT350 wheel and shift knob, 10.4 inch Tesla screen, Katskinz leather seats, and some red trim pieces to tie it all together.

and I thought it was the coolest freaking car out there. The very first time I rode in it, I missed the school bus after school so he came and got me and let’s say he wasn’t very happy, but man was I! From that moment I knew I wanted a Mustang and two years later he offered to sell it to me. I bought it with no hesitation and from that moment on it has been all about Mustangs for me. I’ve owned a 99 GT, 02 V6, 05 GT, 06 GT, 2014 V6 and 2015 GT (current car) and she isn’t going anywhere. The people that I have met and friends I have made just because of a car is something I’ll cherish forever. Our Mustang is special to us and is a hobby we both love and enjoy and we cherish everything a simple car has brought into our lives.

Nostalgia had struck me and I was in love as I had never seen a Bullitt Mustang as they were so rare and only made three years. I did a ton of research and came to terms with the salesman. I have familiarized myself with the significance of the Bullitt and how it shaped gear heads from past to present with such an iconic car and its resurgence back into modern American Muscle cars. I am the first and only owner of the car and enjoy taking it out with my car club, attending car shows, cruises, and date nights with my wife. EACH ONE OF THEM HOLDS MEMORIES AND STORIES OF THEIR OWN BUT NONE OF THEM ARE AS SPECIAL TO ME AS THIS ONE. I’ve had an obsession with Mustangs for as long as I can remember from playing with Hot Wheel Mustangs in my room as a kid to buying my first V6 five speed and the older I got, the worse the obsession got. I’ve lost count of how many Mustangs I’ve had over the
possible at that time as my wife and I had just bought a house and started new jobs so a new car was out of the question. Fast forward two years later, I was just browsing on the internet and came across an Ingot Silver 2014 GT with 7000 miles at a local dealer and later that day she was mine. Since that day, the car has come a long way from the stock GT I brought home to where it is now. It has been a journey with this car with a few ups and downs but the best part of the whole thing is my wife and two kids are there by my side enjoying it just as much as I do.

CA R RIE C HAF F E E DADDY’S GIRL – 2013 V6 & 1978 COBRA II for another pony. I made a short list of the things I wanted. It had to be Blue this time, my dad’s favorite color. He had painted the motor in his Cobra Grabber Blue. So I had to find a new Mustang. It had to be an upgrade and it had to be Grabber Blue. The day I found Chief online, I sent the listing to my dad and he said, “let’s go”. We drove three hours across the state to pick up Chief together. I count that memory as one of my favorites. Chief is a beautiful car, but I knew the day would come that I would find our Cobra II. In December of 2021, a blue Cobra II flashed across my screen. I clicked. I saw the photos and read the description and knew this Cobra just might check all the boxes. The moment I drove into the parking lot and laid eyes on the Cobra, my heart started to beat fast. I could feel a smile spread across my face. I felt a tremendous feeling of pride, like I had won a first place trophy or ran a marathon, but really I was completely awestruck at having accomplished this lifelong goal and making my dad proud. I had our car. On Christmas Day, I brought the Cobra on a trailer to my dad’s house. I couldn’t wait to show my dad this huge surprise! Now comes the fun part... we get to restore it to its original splendor. Dad and I agree, Bleu Magoo will be white with blue center stripes when he’s finished, but there’s a lot more work to do before Bleu will be white. I love you dad!. PHOTO CRED: CARRIE CHAFFEE

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A MOPAR GIRL. I HAVE WANTED A CHALLENGER FOR A LONG TIME. MY HUSBAND BOUGHT A 2009 BLACK BULLITT IN 2017… Bought her March of 2021 with 22,000 miles. I haven’t had much time to do mods as I have only had her for a year. I did have the exhaust changed at Carlisle Ford Nationals last year to Roush cat back with X pipe and
a 2009 black Bullitt in 2017 and then my son bought his 2003 Mach 1 soon after that. We started going to Carlisle Ford Nationals and other car shows. We were around the Mustangs a lot. I really started to like my husband’s Bullitt. So I started looking at the different generations of Mustangs. At first I didn’t care much for the S550. I was looking more towards the S197 but then I drove a S550 and I fell in love. I loved the way it handled. I know it is only a V6 but it is enough for this aging lady. I also thought it would be cool to have the different generations of Mustangs in the family.

“It’s probably the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I didn’t have the courage to do what they do; to go over there and risk your life. They are the 1% and when you get a letter that says it’s a morale boost… it’s humbling” said Dawn Geigen.

The showing was welcome and “The Rivalry” was born. Midway through the 2021 summer AWCPP made the rivalry official by advertising that the bragging rights title was up for grabs. Beltway Mustangs, Frederick Mustangs, the Carroll County Mustang Crew, and a few other Facebook groups joined up to bring between 80-90 Mustangs! Not only did we win the car count category, we swept the event by taking the 50/50 raffle prize and People’s Choice Award. The best part however was that our very own Douglas Smith drove our fearless leader’s (Daniel Ramey) STANG Magazine car (RNEGADE) to the event without him knowing. Dan was away for the weekend

“JUST THE TIP TOO MUCH FOR YA? We’ve heard a common misconception that gas with a higher-octane rating is “more powerful” and will make additional horsepower. This is not true, so don’t spend the extra money for high octane fuel on a car that gets no benefit from it. “Octane is simply a measure of how much heat and pressure a fuel can withstand before © ©

If you’re running a factory NA (Naturally Aspirated) motor, you shouldn’t need to invest in high octane fuel. That said, if you do get the high-octane gas, your car may be a little faster overall, but that’s just because of the reduced weight due to your empty wallet. F
