MAGAZINE EDITOR’S CHOICE OCTOBER 2022
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

TALKING WITH TJ
As we begin our journey into the descent of madness that is my mind and the crazy antics of my life, I would like to first introduce myself. My name is TJ, blah blah blah, that sums it up and all you need to know. Whew… got past the CRAP no one cares about! Now for the good stuff.
Mustang culture is one that is very unique and brings together people from all walks of life. One thing is for sure though, the STANG Mag crew isn’t your typical crew. We are a bunch of weirdos, oddballs, and out casts. We party hard and live by our ride or die motto and have adventures like no other.
From partying in various spots all over the U.S., to touring some of America’s most haunted sites, to having my ass spanked by a beautiful Latina in Las Vegas in front of a restaurant packed full of guests (and owning it), it’s never a dull moment! All I can say is... strap in, rev the shit out of your motor, and let’s go!
YUENGLING BREWERY
Welcome back! This month STANG Magazine host ed the Yuengling Beer Peaky Blinders Tour and Ha noverville Road House Dinner. Yuengling is located in Pottsville, PA. D.G. Yuengling and Son Brewery was first started in 1829 and has now spanned six generations as well as having earned the title of America’s oldest brewery. Yuengling is 193 years old, which is quite a feat for any organization. This year we decided to do a Peaky Blinders theme. So, everyone had to dress up in Peaky Blinders attire or roaring 1920s speakeasy attire. Men came dressed in full suits and fedoras. Women came in lavish dresses with flapper headbands and cigarette holders. Inside we got to tour the old historic brewery and see the underground caves which was used to keep the beer cold and aide in aging the lager to help create that smooth and bold Yuengling flavor. The caves were

wet, damp, and cold which is the perfect natural environment to keep beer cool, especially in the olden days prior to refrigeration. In addition, we got special access into the old historic bar inside Yuengling, where the old employees would take their breaks and have a fresh Yuengling to wind down. dinner the tour continued to the famous haunted Hanoverville Roadhouse, which was established in 1825. The Hanoverville Roadhouse has been a post office, a general store, a brothel, and a biker bar. Inside the historic restaurant you are greeted with beautiful architecture of years gone by. I absolutely love it. Interestingly, there is an original 35 mm reel of poltergeist on display in the lounge. Holy crap, I mean, come on that movie is epic! Rumors report of JOKE OF THE

various spirits who haunt the grounds and various paranormal activity including restaurant items being moved and caught on camera. Definitely a must visit for anyone in the area. In addition, Canned Heat and Tiny Tim has performed here, making it a true piece of music history. I’m sure Tiny Tim tip toed through the tulips at the restaurant. Quite an interesting history. Now the current personality and owner of the restaurant is Mark Dennis. Trust me, this guy knows how to make a good drink. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and holy crap, has magic hands. The Long Islands were so smooth, yet you couldn’t tell there was alcohol in them and it was not because of lack thereof, but because of a perfect blend of alcohols.
It definitely got me feeling good. Also try his Zombie drink. WOW. Sweet but very smooth. The food was amazing, perfectly crafted crab cakes, steaks with juice just dripping out of the meat, the sides perfectly cooked with just the right of caramelization. Trust me, go here! You will not be disappointed, and while your there, give Mark a shout out!

The best part about owning a Mustang is being a part of the Mustang family. The friends that I have made from attending shows and Mustang events will last a lifetime. I have always had a love for Mustangs for as long as I can remember. Something about the beauty, power, and tradition that stirs up excitement. My father and I have attended car shows together since I was a kid. My favorite of course was Street Rod Nationals when they would come to town. They had so many beautiful Mustangs.
My father and I have made many memories since I have owned this car. From car shows, to parades, to just spending time together cleaning and working on it. I now have children of my own. I can see the same excitement in their eyes that I had when I was little. I am looking forward to passing on the tradition

GINGER’S DREAM–1964 1/2 CONVERTIBLE
THIS CLASSIC CAR HAS BEEN A JOY ADDED TO MY LIFE.
This is my 1964 1/2 and it is mostly stock. It has an added fuel injector, power steering, seat belts, and the pipes have been changed.
My very first car was a 1976 Mustang II. I had always loved Mustangs. I grew up in a Ford family. I had an older cousin that restored Mustangs from the 60s. Although I bought a 2009 GT Convertible, I had always wanted a red, 1965 convertible. I looked for
years. After my mother passed away, I had the money from her life insurance so I decided to make my dream come true. I stepped up my game looking for my dream car. I asked many of my Mustang friends to be on the lookout.
A good friend of mine was passing by a house in our town and saw a red convertible in the garage. He stopped and asked if it was for sale. The man said he would sell it. It turned out to be a 1964 1/2. My friend took multiple pictures of it including crawling underneath and taking pictures. He sent those to me then Face Time me. I went the next day, looked at it and drove it. It had already had a rotisserie restoration. The only thing that wasn’t what I was looking for is it’s an automatic. I have two manual Mustangs so I can live with an automatic. I bought it immediately. I named it after my mother. I did research on older Mustangs including talking to friends who own them. I love driving it including occasionally driving it to work. I’ve done parades. I love doing car shows. I had already been showing one of my other Mustangs. I always have compliments on her at shows. I’ve had many offers to buy her but I always say no. This classic car has been a joy added to my life.

I’ve always loved cars since I was a kid. I used to go to car shows, local truck pulls, and power events with my mother. My grandfather owned a Fox Body that he used to pick my sister and I up in. The Mustang that got me into showing/cruises was my 2006 Mustang. I ended up joining a local car club with it, Venom Out laws, and meeting a lot of awesome people. I traded up and bought my current 2016 Mustang “Haunter” and have had it for almost four years now. I’ve been slowly building my car for road courses, but also to run the ¼ mile drag strip. Eventually, my plan
is to add more horsepower. Racing is something I love to do. We did our first track night this year at Po cono Raceway and had a blast. The car is named after one of my favorite Pokemon, Haunter. She’s come a long way since I got it and I can’t wait to see where it goes in the future.

I WAS JUST A KID IN THE 90S AND DON’T REMEMBER EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED THEN, BUT ONE THING I WILL NEVER FORGET WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD SEEN A “NEW EDGE” MUSTANG AND INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE.
My passion for Mustangs came at a very early age, passed down from my grandpa.
I was just a kid in the 90s and don’t remember everything that happened then, but one thing I will never forget was the first time I had seen a “New Edge” Mustang and instantly fell in love. Right then and there, I told myself I had to have one. Fast forward
almost 25 years and I made the dream a reality after purchasing my ‘99 GT, which I named “Red” based off Blake Shelton’s hit “Ol’ Red.”
But that wasn’t enough. The flame I had for Mustangs before, turned into a blaze I never want to put out. So I put my head down, did my homework, and finally brought home Morticia. She is a 2016 GT that is all

MORTICIA–2016 GT stock, aside from an upgraded exhaust. The Competition Orange color grabbed my attention immediately, as it stands out in a crowd. The performance the 5.0 put out was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, so it was only fitting to personalize the plates to match the power.
I named it Morticia after Morticia Addams, because the pure beauty pairs well with the hellacious power. I am now the proud owner of three Mustangs, with no plans of stopping my collection for as long as I live! Next purchase will be either a GT500 or a Mach so stay tuned!

I met Orange Jewlious five years ago while visiting friends in Orlando, Florida. One of my friends owned her. He had her in the shop for an oil change and took me with him to pick her up. The first time seeing and hearing her, it was love at first sight. My friend had never let anyone drive her: not his brothers, my husband, or his best friends. That day he asked me if I wanted to drive her and of course I did. She purred and vibrated; 700hp running through me. I knew she was already mine.
That day I named her Orange Jewlious, after my nickname, Jewle. I immediately asked him if I could buy her, but his price was well beyond what we could afford. For
the next three years, I kept checking in on her, asking if he had changed his mind on the price, but mostly asking, “How is my car?” because I knew she was meant to be mine one day. Then Covid hit and caused me to have to cancel my wedding.
My friend, being the friend and brother that he is, called and surprised us by saying, “Happy Pre-Wedding gift!” He gave her to us at a price most would never imagine for this car! She was finally mine! Being so excited, and not finding a reliable shipping service, I hopped on a plane, rented a U-Haul with a trailer, and hauled her back on my own to Austin, Texas.
FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS, I KEPT CHECKING IN ON HER, ASKING IF HE HAD CHANGED HIS MIND ON THE PRICE, BUT MOSTLY ASKING, “HOW IS MY CAR?” BECAUSE I KNEW SHE WAS MEANT TO BE MINE ONE DAY.

“JUST THE TIP
THAT’S ONE HARD ROD YOU GOT THERE.
In last month’s issue of Just The Tip, we discussed adjusting your car’s suspension when lowering the vehicle. There were many points to cover in that writeup, but one of the adjustments that was mentioned was the track bar. This is an important aspect of your car’s handling, so let’s dig into what a track bar is exactly.
A track bar is a lateral stabilizer bar that mounts one end to the rear axle assembly and the other to the frame of the car. Its purpose is to stop the rear axle from moving left or right under the body of the car when going through corners at a high rate of speed.
So how does it work you ask?
One end of the bar is bolted to the rear axle assembly and the other to the frame of the car; this lateral linkage will stop the rear end from moving horizontally under the car. {Sidebar: Mustangs prior to 2005 did not come equipped with a track bar from the
factory but aftermarket upgrade kits are available. The Pre-’05 Mustangs were equipped with trailing arms to keep the axle in line. The track bar is a huge improvement for the Pre-’05; consider the aftermarket kit as an investment.}
The track bar needs adjustment when you lower your car because before the car is lowered it is riding at a set height and your rear axle is for that height. When you lower the car, the axle is not moving but the car is; as the car is lowered closer to the axle, it pushes down on the track bar which stays at a fixed length, which moves the rear axle slightly out from under the car. If you’ve ever watched a NASCAR race (and who hasn’t), you’ve seen the crews dropping a long adjuster into a port in the rear window during a pit stop and adjusting the track bar.
In the case of a Stock Car, the one end of the track bar is not mounted directly to the car frame, but rather to a threaded screw that is mounted to the frame; as the
screw is adjusted up or down, it moves the track bar in relation to the cars frame, which moves the rear axle assembly left or right under the body of the car to adjust its handling.
For street applications, you want to keep your axle centered under the body (unless your ‘street application’ is driving laps around Daytona at 200+
MPH). If you lower your car, check the rear axle alignment with the cars weight on the back wheels, and adjust the track bar left or right until you have equal clearance between the tire and wheel well on both sides of the car. It will make for a massive difference in the handling of your ride!
