Design Studio Air is a project that explores parametric design in programs such as grasshopper and Rhino, and its application to physical scale models. Starting from a single topic category a design was adopted onto the site of Wyndham highway as an immersive highway installation. This project focused on the idea of structure, and creating a self supporting structure whilst creating an illusion of weightlessness to the users on the highway. This was acheived using a physics simulator plug-in, “Kangaroo to test the structural soundness of the structure whilst creating a system for the digital simulation to be adopted into a physical 1:500 model.

MAKERS FORUM
MACHINING AESTHETICS v.3.0
This project explores the future of making and how we as architects can adapt to the ever changing ecology of manufacturing and industry. Utilizing architecture to potentially improve and evolve the process of making at an urban and internal scale. Through an established ruleset, this journal documents a process of techniques that aim to integrate space, function, urban typology and the role of the maker. Systematic rotation of grids and contoured surfaces are investigated to inform envelope and spatial qualities for a proposal that facilitates a network of makers that can compete at a global scale. Ultimately this project looks at breaking the boundaries of conventional architectural language and urban morphology to enable the integration of industry and education. As a result, creating a new breed of makers that are able to simultaneously develop and apply new technologies and processes to further evolve the practice of manufacturing and making.
