Stonebridge Properties retained Stantec Boulder’s hospitality design team to convert an office building in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado into two hotels with a combined 302 room count. Changing the use from office to hospitality required perceivable day

night, with clerks and valets buzzing about, guests coming and going, people grabbing a cocktail in the lobby bar, all activating what used . to be a depressing dead zone. The columns and canopy of the building’s porte-cochere were given a metal cladding, and light panels and large, circular chandeliers were hung from its ceiling. It comes together into an elegant, urban moment in a downtown that could use more of them. In that way the building’s positive disposition is integrated fully into the busy avenues it fronts. This sort of design goes beyond architecture
