Link Employment and Training and 317 others received three-year contacts to deliver government-subsidised training. Higher Education and Skills Minister Peter Hall visited its Cheltenham Road site and said there was now more scrutiny in the contracting process and only the best registered training organisations (RTOs) had been successful. “This in turn provides these training providers with more certainty about their future funding arrangements,” he said. Link delivers training to VET students, pre-apprentices and apprentices in automotive skills and carpentry and has “consistently proven to be a reliable, high-quality and dedicated training provider”. “We have increased levels of financial accountability through changes to our contracting processes and set stronger requirements for providers claiming training subsidies,” Mr Hall said. “The Victorian Coalition Government has raised the bar on quality with higher expectations of training providers, including TAFEs, private providers and Learn Local organisations, backed up by stronger monitoring and compliance checks.” Link Employment and Training is an incorporated not-for-profit organisation, has a presence in Dandenong, Bairnsdale, Frankston, Pakenham and Traralgon and delivers services to 1000 students each year.
