CHERRINGTON’S WARM WELCOME CHERRINGTON, the latest land release in the fast-growing Officer community, has been officially launched with a family fun day attracting good crowds to view this up and coming new area. The building, which is double-brick, has been extended to include what is now a main dining room that has stunning views out across Port Phillip Bay. CARLISLE’S HEAD START CARLISLE Homes will offer up to $200,000 in grants in 2014 and 2015 funding real ‘grassroots’ initiatives across Melbourne and Geelong. The first call has gone out for grant submissions, with applications closing Wednesday, 30 June. Carlisle Homes has launched an exciting grant initiative to help notfor-profit organisations fund projects that make a positive impact in their community. The program will be giving up to $200,000 to local not-for-profit organisations and community groups across Melbourne and Geelong, which will be dispersed over four grant qualifying periods in the following 10 months. John Doulgeridis, Carlisle Homes Director, said this program was an exceptional opportunity for Carlisle

Homes to give back to the community in a substantial way. “This is about helping groups of people with great ideas to grow, thrive and make their community a better place. The program will also allow Carlisle Homes to make a meaningful contribution to the communities it builds in,” Mr Doulgeridis said. Applications will be reviewed each quarter by a panel of judges at Carlisle Homes. Entry is open to community groups and not-for-profit organisations of any size. MARKET TO SIZZLE IN WINTER WITH requests for property appraisals at an all-time high, the property market will continue to track well into the cooler months, LJ Hooker Narre Warren South Principal Metin Aziret said. WHILE winter traditionally heralds a lull in property activity, Mr Aziret said the fundamentals of record-low interest rates and

heightened buyer activity would make this season different. “Sellers traditionally hold off listing their properties in winter, and wait until spring,’’ Metin said. “But savvy sellers will realise that buyer appetite is strongest now because of the record-low interest rates, and they’ll want to take advantage of that buyer competition before the spring rush comes around.’’ The number of appraisals conducted by the LJ Hooker network were 57 per cent higher for the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period last year, with more and more sellers wanting to know what their property could potentially fetch

in an enlivened market place. Mr Aziret said the strength of the first quarter was driven by all-time low interest rates, strong investor activity and a recovery in consumer confidence. “Investors and upgraders have been focusing their attention on the Narre Warren South area since interest rates started trending down in November 2011, but activity really gathered pace over the last year. “The demand from buyers far outweighs the supply; we are selling properties as quickly as we list them. “We’ve received interest from first home buyers wanting to capitalise on the low interest rates and make the move
