GRANTS CYCLE FOR COMMUNITY AT CARLISLE CARLISLE Homes is giving back to the community in a big way through its Community Grants Program. IT has just announced six winners in the first cycle of its four cycle grant program and is looking for more worthy recipients for Cycle Two - with applications open until 30 September. Entry is open to Melbourne and Geelong based community groups and not-for-profit organisations of any size which are seeking funding to help enhance the lives of people

in their local community and can be classified into one of the following categories - sports and recreation, health and caring, and education and training. The successful grant recipients can receive up to $50,000 per cycle although, like Cycle One - the total grant of $50,000 per cycle may be divided between a number of selected community groups. Carlisle Homes announced six winners in the first cycle of its Community Grants Program, which ran from 1 March to 30 June. All community grant winners were notified on Friday 1 August and were awarded their certificates and cheques on Tuesday 5 August

by the Carlisle Homes directors at the award winning SPECTRA Selection Centre. Director John Doulgeridis said the program was important for the company. “For Carlisle Homes, it is a simple and effective way to engage with our communities and provide funding for real grassroots initiatives,” Mr Doulgeridis said. The winning Cycle One projects included Kooweerup Primary School which received $5246 for a greenhouse. This is an initiative to educate students regarding the benefits of sustainable gardening.

Carrum Downs Secondary College received $10,000 for its project, The Village - an interactive learning community and the grant will provide funding for an irrigation system, additional material to build extra garden beds, a commercial coffee machine for hospitality students and outdoor furniture for The Village. Aspendale Gardens Community Centre received a $10,000 grant to be put towards its Community Kitchen at the Aspendale Gardens Community Centre.
