a cuppa with

rosemary THIS week Real Estate Lifestyle has a cuppa with Rose Callaghan Realty principal Rosemary Callaghan to find out a little more about the Sunshine Beach-based sales agent. 1. Tell us something most people don’t know about you? I love music, all genres. 2. What has been the most memorable moment of your life to date? My last trip to Italy sampling Tuscan Chianti and enjoying the amazing Italian hospitality. I also loved the Venetian waterways in Venice, and celebrated my birthday in Cornwall and then travelled on to the magnificent Highlands of Scotland. 3. What do you like most about living/working in Noosa? I love the climate and clean pristine beaches, plus the wonderful local produce - which in turn finds its way into some of the best restaurants in Australia from right

here in Noosa. I also love having my own agency with a team who are extremely professional and dedicated while maintaining a necessary sense of fun and good humour. 4. Where do you think Noosa property prices will go over the next few years? Prices will continue to rise as people from near and far recognise the benefits of living in this wonderful part of Australia. 5. Where is your favourite part of Noosa and why? The Noosa River because it’s great for walking along with my Groodle, Mamie, plus having coffee, meeting a wealth of new people including travellers and locals, plus enjoying the stunning vistas. 6. What attracted you to a career in property? I have been in sales for over 40 years and a greater part of that time spent in the corporate sector as national sales

and marketing manager of major australian companies. So when the opportunity arose to continue my passion of providing excellence in service delivery and positive outcomes for people here on the Coast I was hooked. 7. What was your most memorable sale or listing and why? The most memorable sale was Platinum on the River. The vendors were lovely and realistic and it was such a marvellous property. The sale was a great outcome for the vendor and buyer. 8. If you could witness any event, past, present or future, what would it be? Safe and healthy children worldwide. 9. You are hosting a dinner party and can invite six guests, dead or alive. Who would they be? I would invite Gail Kelly, Helen Mirren, Dame Judi Dench, Julie Bishop, Ita Buttrose and Joanna Lumley, because she makes me laugh more than anyone and she is highly intelligent as well. 10. What has been your most embarrassing moment to date? Can’t say!

Rosemary Callaghan with Mamie.

When time is of the essence SUNSHINE Coast businessman Philip Hart has become the newest ambassador for Sunshine Coast Airport’s Fly Local campaign which highlights the importance and benefits to the community of people choosing to Fly Local. Since moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2013, when he and his son purchased Sunreef Mooloolaba, Mr Hart has been using Sunshine Coast Airport to easily access his other businesses in Melbourne, including Financial Index, which employs more than 3000 people nationally and has $15 billion under financial management. Mr Hart said he required weekly travel to

and from the Sunshine Coast and Melbourne in order to manage his businesses and attend meetings. “I’d much rather be out on the boat in Mooloolaba than stuck in traffic commuting to Brisbane,” he said. “Time with my family is precious and Sunshine Coast Airport’s facilities allow me more time with loved ones. “It is easy to travel from Sunshine Coast Airport, I can park stress-free and it’s under 10 minutes from our dive centre in Mooloolaba. “Saving time is essential for me. I Fly

Local to all my domestic meetings and to see family members. It is so much easier to use Sunshine Coast Airport. I can fly straight into Sydney or Melbourne and connect to anywhere in the world.” Airport general manager Peter Pallot said having locals utilising the airport was critical to attracting more flights. “We said at the beginning of this campaign that if more people use the airport, more flights will come and we were delighted to recently announce that Qantas will commence flights to Sydney in December, with a business-friendly schedule starting in February,” Mr Pallot said.

Sunshine Coast businessman Philip Hart. “The new Qantas schedule will allow Sunshine Coasters to avoid highway traffic and crowds, save money on airport parking and arrive in Sydney to do a day’s work and return again that evening.”
