The ketch Kermande brought in building materials to the Yallock Creek to be carted up to Yallock or better known later as the Kooweerup township. Mr Hudson died before moving in at aged 55 with Mrs Hudson and the rest of the family finally moving in during October 1888 and living in the house until Mrs Hudson died in 1913 at the age 86. It has been the scene of many important events in Kooweerup’s history. The railway line was constructed through the property in 1890 from Tooradin to Nyora and Korumburra while Kooweerup Dairies began on the site in 1899. By 1911 the Hudsons’ 39 cows were producing four cheeses daily. After the Hudsons, the property became the family home of four generations of Walkers and at one stage it operated as a horse stud. The Walkers finally sold the property at auction in 1995. Now, with the property due to go to auction on 28 November, a new family has a chance to write another page in The Grange history book. 1206850
