Buyers learning to vote with their feet CORE Logic RP Data has released the latest auction clearance results showing an upward shift compared to last week. Preliminary results show 70.7 per cent of capital city auctions were successful, a higher rate than what was recorded over the first month of winter this year (67.1 per cent). The number of residential

auctions held this week was 811, down substantially from 2218 last week. At the same time last year, 1674 capital city auctions were held with 76.8 per cent clearing. As expected, Sydney was the strongest performing market with an 80.4 per cent clearance rate of the 215 reported results clearing. With last week posting as the busiest week

in over a month, Brisbane’s auction volumes fell from 175 to 66 this week. Preliminary results shows 38.6 per cent of auctions were successful, down from 41.8 per sent over the previous week. For the Gold Coast, there were 42 auctions held with a clearance rate of 41.2 per cent. No data was presented for the Sunshine Coast region.

The capital cities have recorded healthy auction clearance rates for the week, according to Core Logic RP Data.
