OFFICER OPENS UP The once sleepy suburb of Officer is being transformed into a vibrant, commercial and residential hub attracting first, second and third home buyers who are looking for their slice of real estate heaven. Perfectly positioned between Beaconsfield and Pakenham, Officer offers a rural setting with the convenience of suburban living. Activity centres, schools and community facilities within the precinct will create an estimated 6555 jobs, with approximately 4600 jobs in activity centres. According to the council, the town centre will provide a range of regional, sub-

regional and local employment, civic, retail, commercial, office, housing, recreation, entertainment and community uses and activities that provide for the needs of residents, workers, businesses and visitors throughout the suburb and wider Cardinia area. Officer currently has an estimated 32,390 households and is projected to grow to a population of 175,562. KR Peters director Peter Nicholls likens Officer to “virgin land” about to take off. The sales staff at KR Peters, which is selling both Savannah Estate and Milli Terraces - two of the area’s newest developments - are so confident in the future of the suburb that they are opening an office in the old post office. “We believe it’s got more potential – it’s where all the growth is going to happen,” Mr Nicholls said. “In the past two years Clyde North and Clyde have been runaway successes but Officer is up and coming.”

Savannah is at the corner of Brunt and Rix roads and is surrounded by parkland and proposed sporting facilities. On a hilltop in the heart of Officer lies Timbertop Estate, one of Officer’s most established estates according to sales and marketing manager Jarod Mills “With some of the best views in the area stretching out to Western Port bay, Timbertop is now home to approximately 700 people with over 250 homes occupied. The Rise at Officer is located at the gateway to the suburb and is a boutique neighbourhood in arguably Officer’s best location, north of the Princes Highway and bordering the popular suburb of Beaconsfield. The development has proven popular with buyers who want to build larger homes for their growing families and for professional or retired couples who are looking to downsize from rural properties to a stylish urban community in an established area. Grandvue is one of the older more established estates in Officer with a wide range of primary, secondary schools and colleges nearby and a proposed new shopping centre across the road and the Toomuc recreation reserve only minutes away.
