A WORRYING TREND IN REAL ESTATE There seems to be a growing number of web based businesses claiming to be independent advisory services who will put you in touch with the best real estate agents in your local area, at no cost. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

These businesses are simply collecting your personal information and selling it on to any local agents prepared to sign an agreement with them to do business. The price charged to the agents who are receiving these leads can take the form of a percentage of the commission being paid back to the lead generating company. The bad news for the end consumer is, most of the best agents will not do business with these companies and if they do, they will charge you a much higher fee in order to re-coup what they now have to give away.
