AFTER 12 years in ALF football, Brent Moloney is building a new career in real estate right here in Noosa. The former Geelong FC, Melbourne FC, Brisbane FC and Noosa Tigers AFC player won’t be leaving the game behind entirely though. After a year away, he is returning to the Noosa Tigers where he will work in junior development, honing skills and training habits, leadership abilities and attitudes. “First I like to build a relationship with the kids, setting the right example at all times so they have someone to look up to,” he said. “The sky is the limit if you put your mind to something, and if I’m there to help and point them in the right direction, that’s great.” Brent said seeing the young players
develop after each session was incredibly satisfying, but it was also important to make sure they were having fun. “I coach the way I liked to be coached,” he said. “Football is fun, so we have to keep it that way ... so making sure they are getting the work in but enjoying themselves at the same time.” Drafted to the AFL at 18, Brent went on to play for three of the biggest clubs in Victoria and Queensland, and he started building his property portfolio from an early age too. “I’ve been buying and selling properties since I was 20 years old, as it’s always been a hobby of mine,” he said. Now he has gone pro, and as he says, “there’s no better place to do it than Noosa Heads”. Brent has been welcomed to Century

Developing for the future What will Noosa look like in the next 1015 years? In 2031 its expected more than 60,000 people will live in Noosa shire, and the council aims to improve infrastructure to deal with the anticipated growth. The proposed amendment to The Noosa Plan, the Local Government Infrastructure Plan, maps out a strategy to improve transport and storm water networks and public park land for community facilities. The draft LGIP is open for public feedback as part of a planning scheme amendment process. The State Government approved the council’s draft LGIP in March to go out for public feedback until Wednesday 18 April.
