REACHING OUT TO HELP THOSE IN NEED THE TEAM at OBrien Real Estate doesn’t do things by halves. Last year the property group launched the OBrien Real Estate Foundation to help those in need in the communities in which they operate and already around $250,000 has been ploughed into worthwhile causes and projects. Of that, $110,000 has helped change the lives of people living with MND. Last year team members took on the Great Wall of China as a fundraising challenge and this year’s assignment is tackling the grueling Kokoda Track in late August. The foundation also raises funds by selling jackets to staff and events like golf days, ladies days, OBRE weekend community pop-ups, charity auctions and sausage sizzles. The OBrien Real Estate Foundation also receives $50 from every property sale made by the group. “The foundation will see all of us working together to improve the lives of people in our local communities and supporting causes like MND, Beyond Blue, local hospitals, meals on wheels, among others,” said Stavros Ambatzidis, OBrien Real Estate director and founder of the OBrien Real Estate Foundation. “Giving back is in our blood and our culture,” Mr Ambatzidis said. “We love seeing the positive impact our sponsorship has on our local community and we believe that giving back is extremely important. “Many of our O’Brien members can be seen cheering on at local sports clubs, community events or being involved in many

AUCTION IN CLYDE NORTH HELPS TEAM DANIHER FIGHT MND BROWN PROPERTY Group and Henley have joined FightMND’s army to help tackle Motor Neurone Disease. MND is a rare neurological condition that progressively damages the motor neurones or ‘nerves’ in the brain and spinal cord causing the associated muscles to waste away. Former Essendon footballer Neale Daniher has spearheaded a phenomenally successful campaign to raise money for MND research. Daniher suffers from MND and knows the devastating effect the disease can have on sufferers, their family and friends. At present there is no known cure for MND. Brown Property Group has donated a block of land in its Meridian Estate at Clyde North. Henley, with the help of local tradies and suppliers, is building the home. The property will be auctioned, without a
reserve, next March. Mr Daniher visited the building site last week to thank those working on the project. He said the entire team at Fight MND was humbled by the support and generosity of everyone involved in the project. "It is very generous of them all. They are joining the MND army to help find a cure for MDN." CLUB DELARAY DESIGNED TO BRING RESIDENTS TOGETHER WHEN VILLAWOOD launched its $5 million residents' club at Delaray in Clyde North last week the star of the show was 79-year old great grandmother Marlene Nealon. After 15 years in Berwick, Marlene, who has six sons, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, moved to Delaray in January. Marlene and her beloved dog Sooty featured in a promotional video shown to guests at the club opening. "I feel so comfortable here, it's the whole community feeling," Marlene said. "I take Sooty for a walk every morning. People are working in their gardens, you can stop and talk to them. "There is nothing I like more than taking Sooty and my great-grandchildren to the park. There are kids of all nationalities and everybody is playing. It's just beautiful." At an age when most people would be moving into a retirement village, Marlene said she wanted to live "where I had lots children around me". "I have five or six backyards which back onto mine. I sit out and listen to the chidren playing. It's wonderful."
