AWARDS BUILD UP FOR SJD HOMES OFFICER based builder, SJD Homes has won the title of Housing Industry Association Victorian Professional Medium Builder of the Year. Director Simon Dunstan accepted the award at a gala dinner held at Crown Towers earlier this month. The win comes just weeks after SJD Homes was named the Casey Cardinia Business of the Year. The firm also recently won a ProductReview.com.au award for Home Builders in Victoria. The Professional Builder category at the HIA CSR Housing Awards recognises business excellence including sound business and financial management practices, ethical conduct and high standards of customer service and satisfaction. The HIA judges congratulated SJD Homes for its professionalism and for carefully managing its growth. “The company ticks all the boxes for having good structure and thorough processes and programs in place,“ noted the judges. In October the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Lily D’Ambrosio, announced SJD Homes as one of the three Victorian builders selected for Sustainability Victoria’s Zero Net Carbon Homes Pilot Program. The announcement was made at the launch of SJD Homes’ low carbon, energy efficient display home at Parklea’s Timbertop Estate in Officer. The home is the first of its kind and aims to drastically reduce energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions whilst still remaining affordable to new home buyers. Mr Dunstan said the company’s success was “all about people“.
