Caedlin saw a sign advertising the gift drive at Cardinia Life in Officer and didn’t hesitate suggesting to her mum, Alison, that she donate some of her presents so they could be regifted this Christmas. “I donated my gifts because I thought is wasn’t fair that lots of homeless people don’t get presents,“ Caedlin explained. “It makes me feel good.“ Caedlin said the school and calisthenics friends invited to her animal disco party were supportive of her idea to donate to the gift drive. “My friends didn’t say anything but they all bought presents for the gift drive,“ Caedlin said. And her message for those children who will benefit from her generosity? “I hope you like the present and I hope you play with it,“ she said, with a huge smile. Parklea Sales and Marketing Manager Jarod Mills encouraged others to follow Caedlin’s generous lead. “This time of year is hard for many families. At Parklea we think it is important to give back to the community and I congratulate Caedlin for her wonderful donation. I am sure her generosity will bring joy to many children this Christmas.“ Mr Mills said this year donations would be shared between Windermere and the taskforce of community organisations putting together hampers in the wake of the closure of the 4C’s Foodbank.
