Christmas in the Yarra Valley
Santa Paws! Christmas is in full swing at Coldstream Animal Aid. The shelter has decked their halls and are offering animal owners the chance to get snapped with Santa Paws. There’s also an advent calendar made specifically for dogs. Emily Kent is pictured with Fergus the foxhound cross bloodhound, who is up for adoption. The two-year-old is described as playful but easy-going, and loves to howl along to a Christmas carol. Finding a new cat or dog under the tree is a dream come true for many on Christmas morning, but Elle Amman from Animal Aid also said that any decision about a new furry family member should be done well in advance.

HEALESVILLE
All tied up for season ville on the back of a trailer. She challenges visitors to try and find specific ties that are from 90's sporting events and other businesses. Healesville Salvos welcomes shoppers to donate $2 to help buy a hot coffee or tea for a person in need this Christmas. "It's for $2 and you can buy as many as you want by cash or eftpos. The money goes towards buying a hot drink for someone," Ms Dunham said. Visitors who donate are then able to take part in guessing how many ties are attached to the Christmas tree, with the correct guesser awarded a box of chocolates. Healesville Salvos is on the search for additional volunteers. For those looking to help out in the community, contact 5962 2945.
By Jed Lanyon Healesville's new Salvos store is getting into the Christmas spirit by creating a Christmas tree made entirely of ties. Salvos staff member Amanda Dunham created the tree after collecting the ties for over 12 months "We are in Christmas mode and I wanted to have something different to a normal tree," she said. "I've had this tree in mind for about 18 months and have been saving up ties for it for about 12 months. "I'm a big op shopper and go to tip shops as well. I just like to rescue things and find ways to re-use them that may be inspirational for other people. "I have done other kinds of different and strange trees in the past too. Ms Dunham created another Christmas tree made out of silverware that is also on show in store. "It's something else that tends to sit around in op shops ... They get donated a lot so I'm coming up with ways to reuse them that is fun and inspirational." Ms Dunham said that the tree has been a hit with customers, who have been sharing their stories about their own ties at home or wanting to take a photo. Ms Dunham created the tree at her house in Croydon and then had the difficult task of wrapping it up and transporting it to Heales-

Give a toy this Christmas By Jed Lanyon Healesville Interchurch Community Care's (HICCI) annual Christmas toy drive is back as the homeless support organisation asks the Yarra Valley community to donate toys for those in need over the holiday period. Emergency relief manager Sheree Laumen said it is more important than ever that the community gets involved as HICCI recently lost a long-time sponsor, making it harder for them to reach their overall goal. "Because we lost our usual toy shop supplier, we have to provide them all our self this year

... It's a couple hundred gifts we're looking for. "We don't give out any second-hand things at Christmas time. We like to give each child a nice new gift. "We have a Christmas shop where children will choose the gift they want, rather than us giving a child something that they are not interested in. "It's very important for people to bring in toys or otherwise there will be children who will go without a gift this Christmas. "People can either give a donation of money, gift vouchers or a new toy."

The
Donations can be made at the HICCI office, Healesville Bendigo Bank and the Community Link from Monday to Friday. "I'd just like the community to think about families that are doing it hard, who try all throughout the year to keep things together," Ms Laumen said. "We just want to bless people at Christmas time. Life is hard for some people and they just need a little extra help around Christmas. HICCI's donations are required before the second week of December as the toy shop donations are handed out at that time.
Suggestions for items include gift vouchers, Lego, sports equipment (skate boards, basketballs, etc.), items for the beach (towels, boogie boards), board games, make up kits, headphones and items for younger children. Each Christmas HICCI provides hampers to over 200 families and a toy to about 175 children under the age of 15. Donations to HICCI are tax deductable. HICCI is also in need of volunteers drivers as well as receptionists. For those interested, contact HICCI on 5911 6000 for further information.

Rotary wreaths to return By Jed Lanyon Healesville will once again be decorated with beautiful Christmas wreaths which will adorn every lamp post along the main street. The project is undertaken by Healesville Rotary as club Secretary Don Fitzgerald told the Mail, "We'll be putting the wreaths up again." Mr Fitzgerald said that with the help of Yarra Ranges Council, Healesville Rotary was able to refurbish the 26 wreaths that will feature on the lamp posts around Healesville. "I'm hoping to accompany them with banners ... Hopefully we can gear it up for the first week of December," he said. The decorations are designed to be placed perfectly on the antique posts. "It's about having that old fashioned Christmas atmosphere in Healesville. "We like to clutch on to that and create a festive mood. We want people to enjoy coming down the main street." Mr Fitzgerald said that he hopes to see the streets decorated in seasonal themes throughout the year in the future.

Book giveaway at library By Jed Lanyon Yarra Junction Library is getting into the Christmas spirit by hosting a book giveaway for the month of December. Library staff have created a Christmas tree from 24 children's books that they plan to give away each day to preschool aged kids, much like an advent calendar. Librarian Maria Mithen said, "We've got a Christmas tree made of wrapped up books ... We're thinking for the first day, it will be for the first child to come through the doors and then on the second day it will be the second child to come through and so on. "But by 24 I think we'll be guessing at that stage, but we'll give it a go. "The other thing we're going to do is set up a Christmas tree and we're going to collect unwrapped toys that we're collecting for Vinnies ... They will be put into hampers by our local Vinnies group." Ms Mithen said she welcomes locals to bring in new toys and second hand toys that are in perfect condition to help bring joy to children this holiday season. The Yarra Junction library staff have also been busy putting together handbags filled with toiletries and sanitary products that will be sent overseas. To those children who are looking to get their hands on a new book for Christmas, Ms Mithen says, "Come and visit us at Yarra Junction Library."

Woolies helps food fight By Jed Lanyon With food insecurity on the rise across Victoria, Yarra Junction Woolworths customers are being encouraged to support this year’s Woolworths OzHarvest Christmas Appeal. In response to the growing demand for support, shoppers are urged to purchase a 50 cent meal token help to provide a meal for the one in five people in Victoria who have experienced food insecurity in the past 12 months. Recent Foodbank Hunger Report research shows the need for food relief services has increased by 20 per cent over the past year. At least once a week, 30 per cent of food insecure Australians go a whole day without eat-
ing and the appeal aims to reduce this number over the Christmas period. Through the appeal, and supplemented by regular donations of fresh produce from Woolworths stores nationally, Woolworths Fresh Food Rescue partner, OzHarvest, aims to deliver meals to more than 155 charitable agencies across Victoria and help ease the ever increasing need from around the country. OzHarvest founder and CEO Ronni Kahn said, “Going hungry at Christmas is a harsh reality for an increasing number of Victorian residents. “We are asking generous Woolworths customers to support the OzHarvest Christmas

Appeal, so that we can continue to deliver much needed food to local charities that support Australians requiring hunger relief.” By purchasing a 50 cent dinner plate token at the register of any Woolworths store or online from now until 24 December, customers will be able to help OzHarvest provide a meal for an Aussie in need. Woolworths Supermarkets group manager, Kal Blyth said, “We’re concerned by the number of Australians seeking food relief, a number on the rise, and we’re committed to supporting those in need in our local community. “The Woolworths OzHarvest Christmas Appeal is such an important time of year for us,

together with our customers, to all play a role in making a difference.” Over the past two years, the Woolworths OzHarvest Christmas Appeal has raised more than $2 million for OzHarvest, providing four million meals for Australians in need. This year, their aim is to raise yet another $1 million to support Australian families at a time where there is an increased pressure on household budgets. Woolworths has partnered with OzHarvest since 2015 to help reduce food waste by providing surplus fresh food from their supermarkets to Aussies who would otherwise go without.

SOCIALLY SPEAKING... A new study by assessment firm Risk Frontiers has revealed the top ten bushfire risk zones in Australia. Warburton comes in at number six. Old Warburton, in the saddle between Mt Tugwell and Mt Little Joe, is an area recognised as having extreme bushfire risk. In a meeting with Old Warburton residents, Yarra Ranges Council CEO Tammi Rose agreed that the area was very fire prone and stated that if our houses burnt in a bushfire, we may not be permitted to rebuild. But it's a safe place to build a mountain bike park apparently, and council are predicting this park will eventually attract 4125 visitors a week. A large number when you consider that the current population of Warburton is a little over 2000 people. According to DELWP, large temporary populations increase the risk of ignitions and the challenges that fire fighters face. They also say there will be more frequent and severe fires as result of climate change. The Bushfire Royal Commission recommended substantially restricting development in the areas of highest bushfire risk. Yet the mountain bike circus rolls on. If it becomes a reality, this project will increase the risk we all face every summer. People die in bushfires. I am appalled that our state government and local council show such reckless disregard for human life. - Damien Flynn, Warburton

Mail News Group journalist Romy Stephens found some ducklings that had been hit by a car between Yarra Glen and Christmas Hills last month. Three ducklings were killed but she managed to rescue two and decided to take them to a good home after being unable to find their mother. The pair are still alive and well. It serves as a timely reminder to keep an eye out on the roads at this time of year, with numerous baby animals out and about.

IN BRIEF Yarra Glen graffiti
U3A celebrates book publishing By Jed Lanyon A Healesville U3A group is celebrating the achievement of publishing their own book, As We See It. U3A member Anne Hosking told the Mail, "It's a quirky book. It's full of little fun things that we did during our course. Our aim for it is to put it out in the community to inspire other people to take part in things like U3A or the living and learning centre." The book can be found in community places such as doctor surgeries and hospitals where Ms Hosking said she hopes it can help someone in need. "If they pick it up, they don't have to concentrate too hard. They just have to open the pages and can pick it up from anywhere," she said. The 'creative writing for the slightly silly' U3A group hosted all other Healesville U3A members at the Healesville Courthouse on 18 November to celebrate the book launch.
The writers of As We See It. Nine writers contributed to the book and some took the opportunity to read their favourite writings, jokes and poems for those in attendance. Throughout the year, Book convenor and class tutor Di Anderson created a range of activities and surprises for those in the writing group, which then inspired their contribu-
tions to As We See It. "It's a pretty wonderful thing to do. Not everybody gets published," Ms Hosking said. The group was aided by funding from U3A, Bendigo Community Bank and the Foundation for Regional and Rural Renewal. Ms Hosking said that the writing group had helped members cope and overcome trauma. "A couple of people in the group were really seriously traumatised by the (Black Saturday) bushfires. "Another lady had lost her husband and she's still grieving. It hasn't been the aim of the book but we have made really good bonds with each other ... It's been quite therapeutic. "It's been a long journey but a really happy one and we've all learned a lot. Everyone has had their own sort of contribution." Copies of As We See It are limited, to register your interest in receiving the book, contact healesville.u3a@bigpond.com.
Masonic lodge supporting the community By Jed Lanyon Healesville Indigenous Community Services Association will be able to purchase a new refrigerator and nine new multi-purpose tables thanks to a donation from the Healesville Masonic Lodge. The lodge, with the assistance of the Freemasons Foundation contributed $4900 which will support HICSA's tucker bag program, a valuable community service that provides weekly food parcels to about 150 families who are in need. Healesville lodge's newly installed worshipful master Kade Smith said he is happy to be able to support such a strong community service and is looking forward to being able to support future local projects. "There's a strong sense of pride within the Healesville lodge to be able to support our local community and especially such an integral service to the community," Mr Smith said. "They do such a good job at HICSA ... They serve about 150 families a week through their tucker bag program, which is just phenomenal. "It is amazing what such dedicated people are able to achieve within the community." HICSA CEO Anne Jenkins thanked the Healesville Masonic Lodge and the Freemasons Foundation for their generous contribution.

Cost of bushfires mounts By Romy Stephens The Yarra Ranges hosts some of Australia's most at-risk suburbs when it comes to the financial loss from bushfires, new research shows. According to consultancy Risk Frontiers, Warburton and Belgrave make up two of Australia's top 10 bushfire-prone postcodes in terms of average annual losses. Meanwhile, the entire top 10 list comprised of Victorian suburbs. Andrew Gissing from Risk Frontiers said the
results reflect the nature of bushfire activity within the state. "It's not necessarily a surprise because the whole of Victoria is pretty well fire-prone," he said. "It's a mixture of the probability of having damaging fires but also the exposure. "A lot of these properties are built right on the bushland which makes them high risk." Mr Gissing added that this research provides the opportunity for residents within
these regions to understand the risk and prepare accordingly. "Acknowledge that there's a risk in their area and always be prepared for that," he said. "There's still a few weeks before summer kicks off...now is the time to prepare." Top press awards for Mail at big night “From emergency service services and volunteers, to magistrates, Kath’s coverage included a comprehensive mix of stats and facts as well as human interest to truly put the focus on how we can all keep ourselves and others safe on the road,” Ms Cockfield said. Photographer Rob Carew picked up the award for Best Photo Study for his image of school children amongst a field of poppies. Judge Bob Mackie, former senior executive for Fairfax and Rural Press, described it as “a gorgeous photo showing two young students
amid a field of 10,000 plus bright red, knitted poppies ‘planted’ at the school as part of an Anzac Day commemoration, which steps away from the norm. “A beautiful photo executed well by the photographer; a photograph which marries the historical imagery of Flanders Field with modern day through the young students in their school uniforms.” The Mail was also highly commended for its Black Saturday - 10 Years On advertising feature.

Meredith Gleeson, Troy Veenker, Gabby Plunkett, Danny Zemp, Michelle Mock, Sean O’Neill, Kay Rowe, Josette O’Donnell, and Irene Dunne Pfeiffer.
Award recognises school volunteers By Jed Lanyon Gladysdale Primary School's Michelle Mock has been named as the Yarra Valley School Kitchen Gardener of the Year for her support and contributions to her school. For 17 years, Ms Mock has volunteered her time in the garden, shared her passion for growing healthy foods and her cooking skills with students to teach them how to prepare meals in their own households. The award was presented by Eastern Health in the veggie garden of Badger Creek Primary School on Wednesday 20 November. Health Promotion at Eastern Health decided to launch the award this year to celebrate and acknowledge the champions in local schools who are growing foods and living a healthy lifestyle. Ms Mock said that the award came as a shock to her as she believed she was attending a meeting at the time.
"It was really good. You do a lot of volunteer stuff, it just happens ... It's nice to be noticed for it and recognised," she said. Gladysdale Primary School principal Jeff de Villa told the Mail, "We were really wrapt about Michelle getting the award. "She is someone who always puts her best foot forward ... She's helped out a lot at our school." Josette O'Donnell from Health Promotion at Eastern Health said, "This award acknowledges the tremendous energy that local community gardeners put in to making sure our children have the opportunity to learn about how to grow healthy food, cook and prepare meals and understand key topics in sustainability at our schools. "We are fortunate in the Yarra Valley to have so many champions for growing food in our school communities. We want to thank all volunteers in school gardens across the Yarra Valley Health Promoting Schools Network."
The runner-up for the Yarra Valley School Kitchen Gardener of the Year Award was Julia Holmes from Toolangi Primary School. Ms Holmes has been responsible for running a horticulture program for eight years, which engages students from prep to Grade 6. Nominations for the School Kitchen Gardener of the Year were received for Sean O'Neill (Badger Creek Primary School), Troy Veenker (Wesburn Primary School), Meredith Gleeson (Yarra Glen Primary School) and Kelly Frost (Warburton Primary School). Other staff, parents and volunteers from the community that were recognised included the teaching team at Healesville High School that have supported the building of garden beds at several primary schools with their VCAL students- including Gabby Plunkett, Danny Zemp, Aidan Hogg, Peter Scully, Shane Coady and Christine Dell and Chum Creek parents Clare James, Kate James and Tabitha Barclay.
Healesville residents can attend bushfire planning drop in sessions in Healesville and Chum Creek to work through their household fire plan with step by step guidance from CFA. The free drop-in sessions are for residents who want to know how to keep their home and family safe, whether they've got a bushfire survival plan already or are yet to make a start. Graeme Bates, Healesville Fire Brigade Captain said, "Meeting in a group environment is the best option for many people because it gives them the chance to share ideas, ask questions and hear straightforward, face-to-face explanations. "Creating a practical bushfire plan can be quite a complex business, and very often we hear that people just want or need a hand with it. "There are in fact very few one-size-fits-all rules that apply to every household in terms of what to do in a bushfire. "So the best possible thing you can do is to go along to a drop in session like this to talk through your own circumstances and get direct answers to your questions. "Healesville and Chum Creek are high-risk areas, and it was essential for residents to consider a range of different bushfire scenarios such as roads being closed." he said. The drop-in sessions are designed to allow residents flexibility to call by the station and ask the important questions about their families' safety over summer, taking the time now will help residents to make good informed decisions when it really counts. "If you're caught in a bushfire it will be noisy, smoky, hot and extremely stressful. A well-thought-out plan can save your life." Captain Bates said. The drop-in sessions will not just to help locals plan for this summer, but help with planning for fire seasons to come. Refreshments will be provided at the station and local CFA members with knowledge on fire safety and the local area will be on hand to discuss your bushfire safety plans and what you can do to prepare. The sessions will take place at the following locations and times: Wednesday 27 November, 7pm-9pm at Healesville Fire Station. Saturday 30 November, 10am-2pm at Healesville Fire Station. Wednesday 4 December, 7pm-9pm at Healesville West Fire Station. Sunday 8 December, 10am-2pm at Healesville Fire Station.

Success for some at annual shoot By John Wood A warm sunny day greeted competitors at the Woods Point Gun Club for the annual President's Trophy shoot and the Brian Prothero Memorial Trophy event. The day began with the obligatory Eye Opener that saw Ian Findlay, Cameron Trevitt, Cranky McCall and Andrew Ferrari returning 29/30 to share the AA-Grade cash. Allan Kidd won A-Grade, 27/30 with Steven Howlett successful in B-Grade, 29/30. Kirsten Chinn's 28/30 was enough for her to take the C-Grade cash prize outright. The 25 target Double Barrel President's Trophy event was next. Phillip Woods started well with a 25/25 score shortly followed by Phillip Desmond, Steven Howlett McCall and David Allen to bring them to a shoot-off for the trophy. Cranky McCall (42/42) soon became the 47th winner of the President's Trophy, which finished up a successful day for the competitor. Phillip Desmond was 2nd in AA-Grade.

In the end, it was Daniel who held the Brian Prothero Memorial Trophy with a score 26/27.
To finish the day, the club held the 25 target President's Tower Championship. Chuck Lay and Trevor Ewert returned perfect 25/25 scores to put them into a shoot-off for the championship sash and after six targets Ewert secured the sash with a final score of 31/31. YRA teams impress at Eastern Metro Relay Carnival By Jamie Strudley Athletes from Yarra Ranges Athletics (YRA) continued the long tradition of combining to represent the club at the Little Athletics Victoria Eastern Metropolitan Relay Carnival on Sunday. Teams of four raced across the wide range of events with the aim to make a final, win a medal and qualify for December's State Championships. The event saw 20 teams, made up of 33 boys and girls, compete in the 4x100m, 4x200m and Sprint Medley (100/100/200/400m) races. Yarra Ranges athletes competed against ten other clubs in a highly competitive day, made better by warm and clear conditions. It was also the first opportunity for the under-9 athletes to compete in YRA colours. Highlights of the day were the four medalwinning teams. The Under-11 girls medley won gold, with team members comprising of Hannah Downward, Kaylah Paton, Emily Fiedler and Zoe Clarke. Bronze went to the Under-11 mixed 4x200m, the Under-11 mixed 4x100m and the Under-16 girls medley. On the day, coaches Sophie Todorov and Nick Fiedler, team manager Katie Clarke, and parents filled duties and provided support. The regular weekly competition was also held on Saturday morning in bright sunshine at Morrison Reserve. To continue celebrations for the club's 50 years of athletics, junior athletes enjoyed a break during competition to cut the birthday cake, sing the song and capture a group photo. Past club memorabilia has been placed on show in the pavilion to allow visitors to view for the remainder of the summer season. 14 MAIL

Strong pair By Anthony Sequeira Yarra Valley cricket began this week with the rapidly evolving contest between Gruyere and Healesville in the DJSS. Gruyere had difficulty breaching Healesville's strong opening pair early on. However, the ever-reliable Matt Tilney changed that, as the opening bowler refused Healesville an easy start to the innings. Despite a surging Scorpions' attack, Healesville would not succumb to another batting collapse and the pairing of Ash Hamer and Ben Wallace brought about success with a 70 run partnership. Healesville's tail order continued to fight with Michael Jackson, Andy Jakubowicz and Glen Poynton combining for over 100 runs in less than 20 overs. Just when things were looking to blow out for Gruyere, the introduction of its slow bowlers delivered the breakthrough, with Adam Waixel taking the final two wickets of the innings. Chasing 225, Gruyere was left with a tricky eight overs to bat out on day one. With Waixel blasting a ruthless 49 runs, Gruyere sits on 80. In a more traditional day of cricket, Yarra Junction hosted Wandin in a well-fought clash. Electing to bat, Wandin lost two early wickets courtesy of excellent bowling from its opponents. Shaun Falkingham and Tim Thorne would see Wandin through that tricky period of play But the Bulldogs' wickets soon started to roll as the Eagles' attack took momentum with Nick Bark and Terry Ottery taking two wickets each. With Thorne still standing, last man Jamie Elliot bravely battled long enough for his partnerto blast his way to the first century of the season in the Strachan Shield.
By Ron Hottes
When Elliot was eventually dismissed Thorne stood unbeaten on 111 with his masterful innings lifting the Bulldogs to 191. In RAFT blue Coldstream gained the upper hand against Healesville after day one. Tight bowling from Coldstream made it hard going for the Bloods' batsmen. Dale Senior (46) was best with the bat for Healesville but in the end, the Bloods were all out for 145. Coldstream had some time to bat on day one and are currently 2/45. Wandin and Yarra Junction showcased a tight day of play, with neither side really gaining the upper hand on day one. Wandin finished all out for 214 heading into day two. In RAFT Gold, a pair of one day games both produced convincing wins. Warburton's David Lever struck a brisk century against a hapless Woori Yallock attack to lead the Burras to 249. In reply, Michael Dwyer struck 50 for Woori Yallock, however, with the next highest score Kieran Cantwells (27) the side was never up to the run rate and finished 8/159. For Launching Place, Clint Sharmans' blistering 141* led his side to a monster 6/274. With no batsman truly leading the batting lineup for Marysville, it wound up nearly 100 runs short of the required total. In one day grade, Yarra Glen delivered a decisive victory over Launching Place 2s, halfcenturies to Poweltown's Todd Robertson and Jake Neale led to a win over Yarra Junction and a Jack Jenkinson half-century saw Hoddles Creek claim victory over Healesville.
Warburton Golf Club's 20 November stableford was warm, but the scores were warmer. Peter Bell, who currently leads the Championships in C-Grade, continued his hot form with the best score of the day - a solid 37 points. The runner-up was 'The Flying Scot' Neil Leckenby, also with 37, meaning Peter won on countback. Balls got down to 35 only. Nearest the pin winners were Barry Maltman (3rd), Steuart Hawke (9th) Noel-Cross ( 11th), Neil-Leckenby (12th) and Alan 'A.J.' Johnston (15th). Ron Hottes also scored an eagle on the 14th. On a day when the twilight competition field confronted very hot, windy and oppressive weather - until a welcome change arrived - the scores were surprisingly good.
The best went to Glen Patrick, with a respectable 22 points. He won on a countback to another of the Patrick clan, Luke. If players scored 17 up, they could claim a ball next week. Nearest the pins went to Lynda Dickson (3rd), Stuart Patrick (6th - 2nd shot) and Danny Fox (9th). With pleasant weather conditions ensuing, there was always going to be a spate of impressive scores at the club's stroke and third round of Club Championships on 23 November. In A-Grade, Shane Campbell impressed with a Nett 69. The B-Grade voucher went to Des Ray, in a welcome return to form, with a Nett 67. Wayne Kempton continued his great form, to be the runner-up also with a 67. Balls extended to 72.

A Halen Van on the road.
Custom-built for the road els and the choice of either lead crystal or lithium batteries. Last year, Jason and his wife Bec took their van with four of their customers vans and did the Tanami Track, a heavily corrugated track between Alice Springs, NT, and Halls Creek, WA. The vans handled the conditions beautifully and also had the convenience of being able to use all their appliances including the airconditioner without being plugged into power or using a generator. The vans were equipped with solar panels and inverters to utilise the sun's energy to charge the batteries, therefore power was not an issue. Halen Vans also does all servicing and repairs of all makes and models of vans. For anyone who needs an upgrade or has damaged their van, Halen Vans is happy to help out with a quotation or suggestions. The company has also fitted out numerous horse floats and trucks. Call on 9738 7133 or visit Halen Vans at 42 Industrial Park Drive, Lilydale.
Each van is custom-built.

Halen Vans are builders of fully custom-built off-road caravans in Lilydale. The company was established in 2011 when Jason Francis, after many years in the industry, together with two other partners, decided to go out on his own. Jason, a mad Van Halen fan, decided that as a tribute to his idols the company name would have to be Halen Vans. All Halen Vans are custom-built. Halen Vans works with its customer to come up with a design that suits their individual needs and customers are fully involved with the build process. From when the chassis arrives, customers go in and speak to qualified cabinet makers about their design needs and cabinetry is made to suit. All vans are fully off-road with choices of independent trailing arm or air bag's suspension, the latter being popular due to the fact you can level the van from left to right and up and down with the flick of a switch. They are fully self-sufficient with solar pan-
