Not on our patch By Brendan Rees Residents of a Berwick estate are seething with Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) with plans to widen a road to six lanes outside their homes without noise barriers. As part of the second stage of the Monash Freeway upgrade - MRPV has proposed to add two lanes on O’Shea Road in each direction between Clyde Road and Soldiers Road. Once complete, O’Shea Road will be three lanes in each direction and six lanes in total which is due to be completed in 2022. MRPV says this will create better connections at Beaconsfield and ease congestion. But residents of Affinity Estate which adjoins O’Shea Road want the project shelved or delayed, saying “at no point” were they made aware the road being widened to six lanes and have also cited concerns of noise, large increases in traffic, and removal of trees. Michel Suttie, chairman of Affinity owner’s corporation committee, said residents were told the planned upgrade was always for four lanes and “we have had no opportunity to respond to the six lane proposal”. “Despite repeated requests, the MRPV has produced no documentation to support six lanes, no traffic management plan for surrounding streets that will become a rat run, no identification of the authorising person, no impact study and no opportunity for a submission,” Mr Suttie said. He added: “There will be an increase in the number of large trucks descending past the Affinity Estate using their exhaust brakes to slow down, just meters away from homes”. Dozens turned out for a community meeting recently where residents were keen to express their frustrations. They were told by MRPV representatives that noise barriers were not needed “as the policy doesn’t require as to” - a remark Mr Suttie said was a “contradiction” to what residents were told at a community briefing last year. He also said he had viewed an artist’s illustration of the O’Shea Road Upgrade on the Monash Freeway Upgrade website “that clearly shows a noise wall installed”.

Mr Suttie said many residents won’t be able to enjoy a walk along the footpath “due to the air buffeting and potential water spray off vehicles”- however MRVP contends safety barriers will be installed along O’Shea Road. “The roadway will only be the width of a footpath from domestic dwellings,” Mr Suttie added.
MRVP program director Ray Paterson said they had spoken “extensively” with residents about the project including hundreds who have attended information sessions where “thousands of information sheets” have been handed out. “Almost half a million people rely on the Monash Freeway daily, so it’s vital we improve connections by building extra lanes on O’Shea Road and easing the pressure on Clyde Road,” Mr Paterson said.

Fury at brazen plant theft By Brendan Rees Green-fingered thieves have been caught on camera wheeling out thousands of dollars’ worth of plants and other goods at a Narre Warren North plant nursery. The Squatting Frog Plant Nursey owner Geoff Caldecoat said two intruders had cut a hole in the fencing at the front of the nursery about 4.45am on Saturday 8 February. The nursery’s CCTV footage, he said, appeared to show the hooded males wonder around the Heatherton Road nursery for about 40 minutes where they loaded up trolleys and a wheelbarrow full of plants, potting mix and composting bags. Mr Caldecoat said the men wearing gloves, wheeled out the stolen goods to a white van, believed to be a Volkswagen, which was parked on Belgrave-Hallam Road near the Coles Express service station. “It was somebody targeting plants to plant their own garden out,” Mr Caldecoat said. It’s believed the males took about $4000 to $5000 worth of items. “They didn’t touch the building at all,” Mr Caldecoat said. “You can see them going up to the windows peering in”. The nursery has taken to Facebook in the hope the community with any information will come forward. “Please keep an eye out maybe your neighbour is planting out their garden,“ the nursery’s Facebook post said. Among the items stolen were about 30 to 40 plants including Japanese maples, fruit trees, fruit trees, dwarf pear trees, fig trees, crepe myrtles, dwarf crepe myrtles, three trolleys, a wheelbarrow, potting mix, and mulch. Mr Caldecoat said he was devastated and his partner left in tears; adding it had been some years since the nursery had been hit by thieves. “We used to get broken into quite a few years ago ... but since the service station next

edly targeted a cafe on site after staff told him two trays of bread - dropped off in a delivery - went missing.

Motion calling for Casey Council sacking is defeated By Brendan Rees Sustainable Australia MP Clifford Hayes has added his voice to calls for the State Government to sack Casey Council - which has been embroiled in one of Victoria’s biggest alleged corruption investigation. The Southern Metropolitan Region MP presented a motion calling on the State Government to dismiss Casey Council - however the motion was lost 33 votes to five at a state parliament sitting on Thursday 6 February. “You have to wonder why the government allows this particular council to continue,” Mr Hayes said. “Is it because either some of the councillors or some of the property developers have enough on government ministers that they are in too weak a position to move to sack the council?” During the motion debate, Mr Hayes labelled the Independent Broad-based Anticorruption Commission (IBAC) revelations
at Casey Council as a “disgrace” and “an ugly stain on Victoria’s integrity and reputation.” It comes as Shadow Local Government Minister Tim Smith and Liberal MP for Gembrook Brad Battin have also called for Casey Council to be dismissed. Among those voting against the motion was Eastern Victoria MP Harriet Shing who said the State Government was unable to support the motion proposed by My Hayes as Casey Council was currently the subject of an IBAC investigation. “I do not wish to express any views on matters which the IBAC will contemplate and make findings on. However, it strikes me that there is yet to be any evidence put to the IBAC,” Ms Shing said. She said the motion was at the “very least pre-emptive and at its very least speculative in that it relies upon a making out of the evidence and the revelations”.
Ms Shing added it was “vital that we enable those processes currently in train to take place and to be concluded before making any decisions as a government, before the minister takes any action or does not take any action in relation to these matters”. Leader of the Upper House David Davis welcomed the proposed motion but said it was “phrased in a cumbersome way which is not quite accurate and for that reason we will not support it”. “I want to note that he (Mr Hayes) has brought this in very good intent with purposes of highlighting weaknesses in our system, with purposes of ensuring that IBAC has strong support in this parliament—and those objectives I agree with,” Mr Davis said. The motion had also called on the government to introduce legislation to ban donations to political parties, sitting politicians, state and municipal candidates entirely.
It also sought to ensure that property developers could not provide direct or indirect financial support or gifts to MPs, councillors, planning staff, or their families. One of the key figures in the IBAC investigation is former Casey mayor Sam Aziz, who sold his home and fled to Egypt last November before the IBAC began its public hearings. Casey mayor Susan Serey said it had no choice but to grant a request for further extension of paid leave until 31 March based on medical grounds. A monitor appointed to examine governance at the City of Casey was due to report to the Minister for Local Government Adem Somyurek on 11 February. Meanwhile, Casey councillor Rosalie Crestani said the IBAC investigation should be respected and any motion calling for council to be sacked would be “premature” and “everyone should be accessible” to a “fair process”.

Casey tops animal cruelty By Brendan Rees Casey Council says it should not be considered in context of the size and population to other state councils after being ranked second in the state with animal cruelty reports. RSPCA figures recently revealed Casey received 561 reports of animal cruelty in the 2018-19 reporting year - ranking it the second highest in the state. Offences across the state included instances of animals with insufficient food, water or shelter, concerns about hygiene, grooming and housing conditions, reports of underweight animals, sick and injured animals not receiving veterinary treatment, concerns about animals being beaten or wounded and instances of abandoned animals. But Casey Council says while it was ranked second out of Victoria's 79 councils, it was
ranked number 54 in the RSPCA's per capita comparative report. "Council directs all reports of animal cruelty to the RSPCA for investigation," City of Casey manager of safer communities Caroline Bell said. "Council officers who come across any potential issues in the course of their duties also refer these to the RSPCA". Ms Bell said council has the responsibility to enforce the Domestic Animals Act and the Casey Community Local Law 2018 and to promote responsible pet ownership. "Embedded into each of these areas are components of animal welfare and officers will advise, educate and actively promote responsible keeping of animals in the community," she said. "This includes regulations about the num-
Strong winds play havoc By Brendan Rees Narre Warren State Emergency Service volunteers responded to 36 jobs after strong winds hit the region over the weekend of 8-9 February. Many residents awoke to find damage after trees and limbs fell onto homes, sheds, vehicles, and roads - as wind gusts reached up to 80km/h. This included a gum tree which toppled onto a car and shed in Stirling Avenue, Cranbourne North on Saturday while another tree fell on a shed Connie Court, Cranbourne on Sunday morning. Narre Warren SES spokesman Damian Burns said the easterly winds were less common, with Casey taking a battering. "It was an unusual wind we don't normally get. It's the second time in this calendar year we've had a strong easterly wind and each time we've had a lot of trees come down," he said. SES crews were also called out to a job in Hampton Park whereby a tree fell onto a Hanley Street pergola, damaging a fence, while volunteers used a pole saw to remove a tree which landed on a roof at a home in Cannons Creek.
A tree toppled onto a home in Cannons Creek.
Mr Burns said crews tarped a roof in Cranbourne after a vent blew off, adding crews were stretched at one point after being forced to leave incomplete jobs to attend a traffic hazard on Baxter-Tooradin Road near Fisheries Road, Devon Meadows where a fallen tree caused chaos. "We just had jobs coming up one after the other," Mr Burns said, adding they had to call Greater Dandenong SES unit for help and relief crews from their own unit before clearing all jobs by 11pm on Sunday. Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Dean Stewart said trees were more susceptible to falling in "rare" easterly winds. "In the westerly and northerly wins which are more common directions they build up a bit of resilience," Mr Stewart said. "When we get the strong easterly winds we often get reports of trees coming down. The trees aren't used to coping with those strong winds". Luckily, no one was injured in any event as SES recording 559 trees falling across the state. The previous weekend, Narre Warren SES received 32 requests for help in 30 hours.

ber of animals that can be kept on a property and ensuring that the property size is suitable for the number and type of animals, and that they are kept in clean, inoffensive and sanitary conditions. Council officers will investigate and enforce identified breaches of these local laws". Animal Cruelty Hotline Australia spokesman Barrie Tapp said he found it "very hard" for Casey to be named at the top of cruelty reports as "RSPCA appears to have named other councils in the same tone". "Casey local laws in the past was the leader in the prevention and prosecution of the act POCTA (Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act) and a role model for all councils and shires in this state of Victoria," he said. "In fact they were the very first to prosecute under the 'new puppy farm laws - twice".

Cassie vies for the Miss World Australia crown By Brendan Rees A Berwick school teacher is celebrating after winning her way to the preliminary finals of the Miss World Australia 2020 title. "This is such an incredible opportunity and I'm just absolutely thrilled," Cassie Van Zeyl said. The 26-year-old is among 50 young hopefuls vying for the coveted crown - but Cassie says the opportunity to help better the lives of Aussie kids was something close to her heart. The Brentwood Park Primary School teacher has been busy raising funds for Variety - The Children's Charity, as part of the pageant's 'Beauty with a Purpose' journey. Cassie has about 30 to 40 Berwick businesses on board with sponsorship but is encouraging more people to donate. Through her online fundraising page, Cassie has raised just over $1,700 and hopes to achieve her goal of $10,000 before the preliminary finals on 4 April in Melbourne. "I honestly love children and I have always wanted to empower students with low selfesteem and push their spirits so high that they strive to achieve their dreams," her fundraising page says. "I'm trying so hard," she said. "I really need help spreading the word to raise as much money as possible to support". Cassie is following in the footsteps of her Mum, who competed in a different version of Miss World. "This time I get to do both - raise money for the sick children and compete for the title of Miss World!" Cassie, who has been working with children for 13 years, said giving kids the support and love they deserved had been a lifelong dream. "I always wanted to be able to support children's fundraising and plan events to help sick

Firefighters slam thieves By Brendan Rees Clyde firefighters have been left gutted after heartless thieves made off with their fire helmet used to collect donations at a shopping centre. The wildfire helmet had been gathering donations for the bushfire appeal when it was snatched from underneath the counter of That Bakery at Shopping on Clyde shopping centre in Cranbourne East. It’s believed the thieves struck sometime between 6pm Friday 31 January and Monday morning, 3 February - despite the helmet being chained to the counter. “They’ve obviously gone in there with a small spanner and undone that,” Clyde firefighter Ian Earle said. “Whether they’ve gone behind the counter to see the fridge was open and seen it or they knew that the helmet was there we don’t know”. Mr Earle said it’s believed a small amount of
Clyde CFA firefighter and staff member Linh Do of That Bakery at Shopping on Clyde are devastated after a firefighter helmet - which was collecting donations - was stolen from the counter. money was in the helmet at the time as he had emptied it just days prior to the theft, where hundreds of dollars was collected. The helmet - which had a hole cut in the
top for people to donate - had been placed on top of the bakery counter for the past three months after staff offered a helping hand following the bushfire tragedy.
The brigade has reported the theft and police have launched an investigation. There was no CCTV footage was available as staff had turned their cameras off after closing at night. Mr Earle said the brigade’s “biggest concern” was for the thieves to set up the helmet elsewhere and trick the public into donating. “We don’t want people to be conned by it,” he said, adding the yellow helmet had red lettering on the sides if people recognised it. He added staff had assumed brigade members had taken the helmet to empty it of donations. Mr Earle said the brigade was devastated by the low act: “It doesn’t matter if it’s the CFA or the Red Cross or SES; the money goes back into the community as much as possible”. “It’s not just against the organisation - it takes away from the whole community”. Cranbourne Police have been contacted for comment.
Thugs wave knife in supermarket By Brendan Rees Hooded bandits have held up a Woolworths store in Lyndhurst on Sunday 9 February, terrorising customers and wielding a knife for those that tried to stop them. The group of males burst into the Thompsons Road store before 9pm, stealing a trolley load of goods. Police have been told a knife was allegedly produced and several customers attempted to intervene. The group left the scene in a vehicle and have yet to be located at this stage. Witness Daniel, who asked not to publish his surname, said he had just returned to his
car in the carpark about 7.30pm to 8pm when heard a row break out. “I heard a bit of a commotion behind me and they were taking a full trolley of shopping and running off without paying,” Daniel said. The men, he said, were of African appearance and aged between 15 and 30 years of age, and had become aggressive when customers tried to intervene including punching and kicking. “More customers from Woolworths came out and fought them off ... as the fight started one of the guys ran off with the trolley back to the getaway car,” he said. On person took a “blow to the head,” he
added. “I heard that they came back later on with a knife. “It wasn’t really what I expecting on a Sunday night”. Once he knew police had been called, Daniel got into car and drove around the area, checking if anyone had been injured. At one point, he said the group pushed the trolley out of the way, and a bit of it fell out “so they didn’t get away with everything”. “It was pretty intense”. No one required medical treatment. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A 25-year-old Cranbourne North man has applied for bail after being accused of drug trafficking while on bail. Jarryd Scott had been allegedly intercepted in a Camry with a co-accused woman and a "large amount of differing drugs" at a servo on Overland Drive, Narre Warren just after midnight on 11 February, police told Dandenong Magistrates' Court. Police say they seized 10 mL of 1, 4 butanediol, 13 milligrams of meth, a phone and $1935 cash from the woman. A 'vanilla essence' bottle containing 120 mL of 1,4 butanediol was also found in the car, , Victoria Police remand liaison officer Sergeant Will Harvey told the court. In the car's back seat, police allegedly seized Scott's bum bag containing a deal bag of 0.2 milligrams of ice, two blister packs of prescription tablets and a folding knife.
Scott, who was an unlicensed driver, did not comment to police questions, the court heard. He had been on bail at the time for an alleged armed robbery in Clarendon Street Cranbourne on 27 July. The victim had arranged to supply cannabis to Scott and two co-offenders, Sgt Harvey said. At the rendezvous, Scott allegedly opened the victim's car door, punched him in the face, held a knife to his throat and searched his pockets. After being charged with armed robbery, Scott was bailed on CISP support, a night curfew, daily reporting to police and other strict conditions but failed to appear at court on 31 October. He was arrested on warrant and bailed a second time - this time from a police station - to appear at Dandenong Magistrates' Court on 28 February. After his latest arrest, Scott told the court
that the lack of strict bail conditions on the second occasion led to him re-offending. "With strict conditions, I won't reoffend again. "Curfews or what-not could get me a better place in life." He said he may be offered to return to a brick-laying job if bailed. In opposing bail, Sgt Harvey said the unemployed man would continue to traffick and use drugs, and drive unlicensed if released. The co-accused woman had pleaded guilty to drug charges, and was set for sentencing at Dandenong Magistrates' Court on 12 February, he said. Magistrate Suzette Dootjes told Scott that "it's apparent even if there are no (bail) conditions that any re-offending will be a breach of your bail". Ms Dootjes adjourned the bail hearing for 12 February, seeking a CISP assessment for Scott. berwicknews.starcommunity.com.au

Bridging the housing gap A community-based developer, who will build a new estate in Clyde North, is the first in Victoria to sign up to a scheme that aims to curb the chronic shortage of housing. The developer, Balcon Group, has announced a partnership with Homes for Homes - a social enterprise by The Big Issue - which raises funds to create social and affordable housing around Australia. By partnering with land developers and builders, Homes for Homes receives a voluntary donation of 0.1 per cent of the sale of each home registered with the organisation by willing homeowners - which helps build homes for those in need. Homes for Homes then invites not-forprofit and private sector providers of social and affordable housing to submit funding applications which are then assessed, with funding granted to successful applicants, ultimately seeing an increase in supply of social and affordable housing in Victoria. Orana in Clyde North - the largest master planned community in the south-east, which is due to launch to the market in April - has committed to invite all purchasers of its 4,000-plus project to register their homes with Homes for Homes. Upon the sale of these properties in the future, home-owners have the opportunity to donate to the organisation. Balcon Group general manager Jason Shaw said joining the fight to end homelessness in Victoria was just one of the ways the developer was future-proofing Orana for generations to come. “Orana has been designed to create a harmonious environment in every way. We have committed to developing over 42 hectares of gardens and waterways - larger than Melbourne’s Royal Botanical Gardens - with sustainability at its very core,” Mr Shaw said. “As the south-east’s largest master-planned development, we are really excited about the

Homes for Homes chief executive officer Steven Persson said the commitment from Balcon Group to partner with the initiative was much needed. “Homes for Homes is delighted with Balcon Group’s support and we are excited to announce Orana as Victoria’s first masterplanned community to commit to the initiative,” he said. “With more than 116,000 Australians without a home, and a chronic shortage of over 600,000 social and affordable homes and over 1.5 million households living in housing stress, it is imperative we have the support of such communities like Orana to help raise funds for housing projects through donations from property sales.”

It's picnic time for teddy bears at Haileybury Berwick By Jessica Anstice Teddy bears and prep enjoyed a teddy bears’ picnic at Haileybury’s Berwick campus on Monday 10 February. The teddy bears’ picnic is part of the school’s buddy program, teaching students to become more comfortable in their new environment. The program requires the prep students to team up with a Grade 4 student who will act as their ‘buddy’ throughout the school year. During the picnic, students shared stories about their teddy bears and got to know one another as they ate lunch together. “Buddy programs are an integral part of welcoming Haileybury students to primary school and ensuring that they are supported during this new transition,” head of junior school at Edrington Michele McGill said. “The students will meet throughout the year for fun and educational activities and support each other.”

to promote, preserve and facilitate Tamil culture, heritage and language in the community. Mr Maas commended the hard work of volunteer community groups such as the Valluvar Foundation and thanked them for assisting new migrants in the City of Casey. City of Casey is home to over 150 different cultural backgrounds which incorporate 120 different faiths. In the Narre Warren South community, over 41 percent of residents were born outside of Australia. This event received State Government funding under the 2019-20 Multicultural Festivals and Events program. Mr Maas said he was honoured to be a part of the event. "Pongal celebrations provide a great opportunity for multicultural engagement in our community, and it was fantastic to see the many aspects of Tamil culture on display," he said.

The Berwick community is set to enjoy anew wetlands as part of a $4 million Melbourne Water project to transform a part of Cardinia Creek Parklands North into an environmental asset. Melbourne Water is collaborating with Parks Victoria and the City of Casey on the project, which will also see a 630-metre section of the southern reach Grasmere Creek realigned to divert stormwater into the new wetlands. Construction is underway on site and expected to be completed by June 2023. Parks Victoria is providing the land for Melbourne Water to carry out the project while the City of Casey will provide, in principle, 40,000 plants for future community planting day activities. Melbourne Water's acting general manager, waterways and land, Emily Phillips said this project contributes to Parks Victoria's masterplan for the Cardinia Creek Parklands North by enhancing and restoring Grasmere Creek. "The project will enhance the wildlife corridor through the Cardinia Creek Parklands and provide a shared path linking Inglis Road with Buchanan Road, Berwick for local residents and visitors to enjoy," Ms Phillips said. "The site is also important with many cultural heritage features within the Parklands. "The project also aims to improve floodplain connectivity, stormwater quality and habitat for Dwarf Galaxias, a vulnerable freshwater fish, through the creation of refuge pools". Parks Victoria's area chief ranger, Cardinia Sandbelt, Darren Mitchell, said: "We are very supportive of this project and look forward to the benefits it will bring to Cardinia Creek Parklands, its resident wildlife and park visitors." Casey mayor Susan Serey said the project will provide wonderful outcomes for the Casey community, better utilising this piece of land
Multicultural events are in full swing in Narre Warren South as the community came together to celebrate Pongal at the Tamil Multicultural Harvest Festival. Narre Warren South MP Gary Maas was pleased to be representing the Minister for Multicultural Affairs Richard Wynne at the gathering on 9 February. Also in attendance were councillor Rex Flannery, deputy mayor for the City of Casey, and Shankar Kasynathan, commissioner from the Victorian Multicultural Commission. The event which was held by the Valluvar Foundation at Casey Central Town Park showcased Indian and Sri Lankan stage performers and traditional ceremonial activities to mark the beginning of Harvest season. Dr Bhuvana Sugumaran, founding director, represented the Valluvar Foundation which is a not-for-profit group that works with Victoria's Tamil community. The Foundation helps
and ensuring residents, native wildlife and flora and fauna get the most out of this now, and into the future. "This is a fantastic example of the local and state governments working together for the benefit of our community," Cr Serey said. "I look forward to being a part of this transformation of the Cardinia Creek Parklands North, which will help to further activate the site, providing recreational opportunities for walking and riding and nature pursuits. "Casey has committed to providing 40,000 native plants to support the project, through the delivery of our revegetation strategy. "This project will also see improved water quality and biodiversity along the stretch of Grassmere creek."

New year, new kinder By Jessica Anstice The kinder students were mostly all smiles as they settled into the brand new Little Beacons Learning Centre at Beaconhills College's Berwick Campus last week. The eagerly-awaited early learning centre opened its doors on January 8. It replicates Beaconhills' award-winning counterpart at the Pakenham Campus, offering the same natural, light-filled design, programs, values and commitment to quality. Head of Little Beacons, Vicki Reid, said enrolments were strong, but there were still some
vacancies available and families were welcome to contact the centre for a tour. "This is a great opportunity for children to begin their Beaconhills experience before starting prep," she Reid said. "We are also thrilled to have many siblings and college staff children. We have certainly built a very strong community focus in a very short time." She said children were adjusting to their new centre and had already had excursions to explore the college's ovals, vegetable gardens and other parts of the campus over the holiday break.
"Children have also enjoyed the library in the centre, the dining room and have welcomed the opportunity to interact with some of our new centre animals. "We were very fortunate in bringing half of our educational team across from the Pakenham campus which has allowed us to implement the same high level of care and education. "It will take children and families time to adjust to a new environment, however this has developed much faster than we had anticipated."

BAC K BY P O P U L A R D E M A N D! Berwick’s belter Berwick's intensity from the opening bounce until the final siren simply can't be matched. Their premiership victory against Narre Warren on Saturday - giving the club back-toback flags for just the second time in club history - was intense, finals footy laced with the right amount of class. After a third premiership in four years, the word 'dynasty' is deservingly being bandied around, and for good reason.
The club has a stranglehold over the southeast region - they're relentless, driven by success and are always chasing their next challenge. It's the cornerstone of all successful sporting clubs. While the weather may have been arctic in their 51-point win over Narre Warren, the Wickers put in a magical performance befitting of a champion team in the midst of a golden era. From the superstar Travis Tuck, who came to the club with a high expectation that has
now culminated with a best on ground medal in a grand final, to their champion skipper Madi Andrews, dynamic forward Harry Money, gun midfielder Bryce Rutherford and reliable defenders Jo West and Michael Riseley, the Wickers possess remarkable star power. "We pride ourselves on our relentless approach," Berwick coach Stewart Kemperman said in the aftermath of another premiership win. And as for Kemperman, he couldn't have a dreamt of a start to his senior coaching career

Crowds enjoy the market By Jessica Anstice Akoonah Park in Berwick hosted its weekly market on Sunday, with stunning weather, scrumptious produce and exiting entertainment for people of all ages. More than 5000 marketgoers walked through the gates - which according to the event organisers Gary Maker and Catherine Waters, is a fantastic number for this time of year. “Our market is a complete joy to run. Many of our stallholders have been with us for 10 plus years so we have a history and community spirit which would be difficult to match,” Ms Waters said. “The market has evolved over the years from a farmers market with a handful of stalls in the 1986, to a thriving hub for food, plants, produce and handcrafted artworks.” Foodies were treated to an array of fabulous food, including Dutch poffertjes, churros, do-
nuts and scones, gluten free cakes, multicultural dishes, handcrafted sorbets, spectacular egg and bacon rolls, burgers and more. Children were entertained with pony rides, and adults with live music performed by local artists. “We love this market because we have regular customers coming to see us, but we also like the community spirit which exists amongst the stallholders and customers alike,” stallholder Gary Oliver said. “We are often amazed by the distance people will come to visit our market. For example, this week we had customers from inner city Melbourne, Lang Lang, Drouin and Cranbourne. “We have even had customers buying plants whilst on holiday which were heading to NSW.” The next Akoonah Park Market is confirmed for Sunday 16 February.

Nevillene’s big day
By Cam Lucadou-Wells
By Brendan Rees Like many other families 100 years ago, Nevillene Harrower and her family worked hard on the land. Cows were milked by hand before she went to school, candles were used for lighting, horses did a lot of work, rabbits were caught and skinned, and food was home cooked. "Everything was done by hand," the greatgrandmother of Narre Warren North says, who celebrated her milestone 100th birthday this week surrounded by friends and family. Born on 10 February, 1920, Nevillene was born in Queenscliff and was raised on a farm in Horfield, northern Victoria. Looking back, Nevillene recalls the days of playing hopscotch and attending school where one teacher taught about 30 children. "Schooling was terrible. Hardly did anything for school. We were naughty at school, very naughty," she says. "The teacher used to come in gig and horse ... we were so happy to get bikes to ride". When she took up cricket, her first strike of the ball, she says, sadly hit a calf - "and down she went". "I was so upset. Took a long time for her to get up, it was terrible, glad to see it get up". Sadly, in 1931, Nevillene's then two-yearold brother tragically died after being accidentally poisoned. He walked into a shed where his mother Hilda had been milking cows and drank a bottle of spirits-of-salts. Five years later her father Garnet Keath died of pneumonia, aged 42. Hilda continued to carry on the farm with her young family of seven. Nevillene left school aged 15 to help on the dairy farm and was granted special permission to obtain her driver's licence as Hilda could not drive. She worked the farm until she turned 21 in

Nevillene Harrower celebrates her 100th birthday. 204505 1941 - the same year she met her love Don Harrower at the Cohuna Friday night dance. She moved to Melbourne to work at the Melbourne Coffee Palace before working at a guest house on St Kilda Road. Nevillene returned home to Cohuna in 1946 and married her husband Don after he returned from his duty with the army. The couple had three daughters - Rhonda Okey, Julie Kovacich and Glenda Jeans. "He was very handsome, he was a lovely fellow, a great loss," she says, explaining Don sadly died in 2007, aged 90. In her 100 years, Nevillene says her favourite pastime has been cooking - from baking Christmas cakes to slices with homemade jam, and taking orders for turkeys during Christmas time which she used to hand pluck.
Picture: STEWART CHAMBERS
Today, Nevillene, who is a died-hard Collingwood supporter, enjoys attending high tea functions and catching up with friends at the local coffee shop. To mark her milestone birthday, she received congratulatory letters from Queen Elizabeth II, Governor-General Peter Hurley, Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau, Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Leader of the Opposition Anthony Albanese. Nevillene was a member of the Country Women's Association, the Red Cross for 10 years, and R.S.L Auxiliary and Senior Citizens Club. She will continue her centenary birthday celebrations on the weekend of 15-16 February in Cohuna with friends and family.
A Clyde North man accused of two aggravated burglaries in which he threatened residents with weapons has been granted bail on his second try. Rawlin Laile, 26, had been accused of wielding a pole-like weapon at a resident who chased him from a home garage in Albrecht Avenue, Berwick. He’d also allegedly threatened a resident with a hammer during a home break-in in Narre Warren South. Laile had denied involvement to police, claiming he’d been sleeping outside Trios Sports Club using his backpack as a pillow at the time of the burglaries, the court heard. He woke up the next day to find his bag and shoes were stolen, he allegedly told police. Laile had previously failed to meet the ‘exceptional circumstances’ test for bail at a hearing before Dandenong magistrate Costas Kilias on 21 January. In a re-hearing on 11 February, Mr Kilias granted bail after Laile was recommended for CISP support as well as offering a bail address in across-town Hoppers Crossing. Mr Kilias said Laile’s treatment under CISP was an important factor, after he’d been ‘detoxifying’ for 21 days in remand. Laile’s lack of priors, his youthfulness, his confined period of offending and lack of history of failing to attend court were also factors for his release. Mr Kilias noted Laile had since gained back the support of family and friends. If Laile was not released, it was a “live possibility” that he’d be locked up for longer than his sentence. Mr Kilias said he suspected Laile would be found guilty, dismissing identification doubts raised by a defence lawyer. The bail conditions included reporting twice-a-week to police, not to use drugs, a night curfew, not to leave Victoria or Australia, and to comply with CISP.

I was recently asked by a parent new to our school, to summarise briefly, my take on my leadership. Good question I thought as I began my answer. Privileged to have been in the school principal role for many years now, my take on how I approach my role has obviously been reshaped with experience. These days, more than anything, I see my role, firstly, as ensuring that we attract a diverse range of skilled staff to Berwick Lodge, so as to ‘cover all bases’ to an exemplary level. A complete team, so as to speak. My second challenge then is have those staff choose to stay at our school for more than the shortest time possible. If I can achieve that, then our students are well on the way to the rich education they each deserve.

Sporting club grants up for grabs
Casey to host the Indoor World Cup Casey Stadium is further cementing itself as one of the state's leading sport and recreational facilities following the announcement by Cricket Australia that the stadium will host the 2020 Indoor Cricket World Cup. The announcement came off the back of a successful campaign in 2019, when Casey Stadium held the Indoor Cricket National Championships. Casey Stadium will again host the championships this year. Cricket Australia announced Casey Stadium as the primary venue for the indoor world cup with games to be played from 10 - 17 October 2020. CitiPower Centre will also host some matches. Casey Stadium's expansion was completed in early 2019 and includes five state-of-the-art indoor cricket courts and six cricket training lanes. Upgrades to the facility totalled more than $25 million, with stage one of the redevelopments opened back in 2017. This stage delivered five new basketball and netball courts, including a show court with seating for up to 1,500 spectators, plus a cafe, piazza and function space. The venue is quickly becoming a destination for major events, with three national events held last year and now an international event in 2020. City of Casey mayor Cr Susan Serey said Council is proud of this leading facility and the most recent announcement and can't wait to see the benefits and tourism this exciting event is set to bring the municipality. Wells’ record-breaking day By Nick Creely It was a masterclass of some magnitude. A knock now etched into Casey-South Melbourne's history forever. And it was from a man who's had such an impact on the club that his legacy at Casey Fields will go beyond just the raw stats, or the ability to wear down an opposition like few others can in the competition. Luke Wells produced one of the all-time epic Victorian Premier Cricket knocks on Saturday, crunching 290 off 275 balls, and in the process surpassing the record for the highest individual score in club history - a record that was set in 1889/90. It was also the highest individual Premier Cricket innings since Bill Lawry's 282 not out in 1965/66 for Northcote. Wells isn't exactly immune to monster centuries - he's cracked seven of them at Premier level in just 25 digs, and has 18 first-class centuries for Sussex. His father, Alan, also crunched 46 first class hundreds and eight List A centuries himself. But it wasn't all rapid boundaries for 369 minutes of his knock. It was all about the build, the patience, picking off the bad balls and eventually punishing a tiring bowling group. After the Swans lost young duo Ash Chandrasinghe and Aaron Fernando early, both caught behind after looking solid - and with the Greenvale Kangaroos bowling some tight lines - Wells, as well as fellow leader Nathan Freitag (57), had to really knuckle down. The stylish Sussex star was at one point two off 22 balls, but a series of crisp strokes in succession, as well as an expert ability to work the ball into gaps quickly turned things around. But it was his straight driving that was the feature, and even with the Kangaroos stacking the off-side field in an attempt to try and force him into a false stroke, the ball whizzed along the carpet and straight into the fence at a rapid rate. At lunch, the Swans managed to claw its way to 2/87, with Wells skipping past the halfcentury and Freitag sitting comfortably on 21, and looking rock-solid in defense. The Kangaroos had a few nice moments with the ball straight after the break, but couldn't break a stand threatening to really take the game away, before Wells once again completely changed the momentum. Racing into the 70s, Wells crunched one through backward point, nailed a sweet drive into the sightscreen, before latching onto a short ball and sending it to the mid-wicket boundary in three consecutive balls. And all in different parts of the ground.
Luke Wells goes long during his epic 290 on Saturday. 204252 From there, it was almost inevitable that Wells would reach the triple figures as he crafted the ball into gaps and made his way to the milestone at a steady rate. With a punch just wide of mid-off and a quick scamper through the wickets, the lefty brought up his seventh century for the club, but there was a determination for more. And it came after tea in one of the most dominant patches from a batsman in recent memory. Wells not only brought devastation to a Kangaroo bowling outfit that just couldn't find a way to prize him out, but also ensured that the record-books were to be close on hand as the Swans piled up the runs. In just a shade under a session of play, Wells scored a further 169 runs, sent over a dozen sixes sailing over the rope, and toyed with the opposition as he ticked over for the first double-century in four years in the competition. The cars parked just outside the ground were also under threat, and not from the strong gusts of wind but from an avalanche of power hitting.
Pictures: ROB CAREW
In the midst of his extraordinary session, Wells passed the club's all-time record for runs scored in an innings just after 6pm. From 200 to 290, when Wells finally fell only moments before stumps searching for the triple, he piled on a further nine sixes and five fours as a rate triple-century came within reach. In total, he sent 33 fours and 14 sixes to the rope, a staggering 216 runs in boundaries. But all good things come to an eventually, and with the score 5/470, the damage was well and truly done. Wells told the Star News that it was the type of innings where he didn't feel any pressure despite starting off slowly against the new-ball. "I'm very proud with the efforts and the score at the end of the day - it was probably the best I've felt in a long time, and all my movements were exactly how I wanted them, and I hit the ball exactly how I wanted," he said. "I just felt so in control - when I got in, and got settled, I felt like I could expand my game and go through my gears - they're not the strongest bowling attack, but they did just keep plugging away.
"I just had fun - once I got past 200 I didn't really care about going out, I just wanted to see how many sixes I could hit, and I just kept going." It was Wells' highest score in any form of cricket he's played, surpassing his amazing 258 for Sussex against Durham a few years ago. Despite his record-breaking knock on Saturday, the Englishman still rates his County double as his finest. "That innings (258) is the best I've ever played mostly because of the situation, it was my first innings back in a good chunk of time due to a knee injury," he said. "I played a one-dayer against the touring South Africa team and (Kagiso) Rabada got me out first ball LBW, and they were questioning whether I should play the game with my injury, and I went and played, and got 258 which was mad. "That was my pinnacle, but this innings was great fun as well - it was the first time in a long time that I've felt at the peak of my powers like in 2017 back in the UK. "It's exciting for me, and hopefully I can keep this feeling and hopefully move onto the English summer back home." Aside from Freitag - whose 57 off 127 balls was vital in Wells' build towards the record Lachie Sperling remained unbeaten with 59 off 56 next to his name in his 100th game at the level. Michael Wallace also batted well for his 33. The game eventually ended a draw, with the Swans declaring overnight and the Kangaroos reaching 8/333 at stumps on a wicket described by Wells as "pretty flat". Despite not being able to take the 10 wickets required for victory, Wells said that the chance to pile on a monster score and have some fun out of the middle impacted his decision to not declare on day one. "Our efforts were outstanding, and we bowled really well - the pitch just didn't deteriorate like we thought it would," he said. "A part of me probably thinks we should have declared earlier, but we were just having so much fun - there was a game last year against Essendon and I declared and they ended up chasing 390 in about 70 or 80 overs, so I had memories of that in my head. "So I thought to myself we would keep going and see how many I can get - we can't make finals now, so we thought we'd just have a bit of fun, you don't get many chances like that." The Swans will be hoping to carry its momentum into Saturday's two-day clash with Ringwood at Casey Fields, with the action starting at 11am.
Eagles drop to Southern’s third tier for the new season The Doveton Eagles Football Netball Club has officially been repositioned into Division 3 for 2020, but the Southern Football Netball League (SFNL) has imposed heavy sanctions on the club. The SFNL Division 2 reigning premier put in an official request to be re-positioned out of Division 1 in 2020, with the club continuing to battle through a rough time in its history, and after a mass exodus of premiership players indicated to the league that they would not be able to field a competitive Division 1 side. The league's board held a club presidents meeting on 5 February at RSEA Park in Moorabbin to discuss the request with mem-
ber clubs, and made the decision to move the club into Division 3, but determined the outcome for the club due to "breaches of proper governance and reporting". The Eagles have been imposed the following sanctions: Season 2020 - Doveton Eagles to be placed in Division Three (3) starting the 2020 season on minus 16 premiership points under By-law 13.1.5 (iii) Season 2021 - Doveton Eagles to play in no Division higher than Division Three (3) regardless of their season performance, starting the 2021 season on minus 8 premiership points under By-law 13.1.5 (iv) if still in Division 3 Season 2022 - Doveton Eagles to play in no Division higher than Division Three starting
the 2022 season on zero (0) premiership points under By-law 13.1.5 (iv) The league to receive monthly financial reports from the Doveton Eagles throughout the 2020 and 2021 calendar years. In a statement issued by the league on Tuesday 11 February, several changes have been confirmed to cater for the repositioning of the Eagles. "Due to this repositioning, Oakleigh Districts FNC will remain in Division 1 for season 2020 and Heatherton FNC will remain in Division 2 for season 2020," the statement read. "A revised fixture for Division 1, 2 and 3 will be released shortly with Oakleigh Districts replacing Doveton in the Division 1 Fixture, Heatherton replacing Oakleigh Districts in
the Division 2 fixture and Doveton replacing Heatherton in the Division 3 fixture. "The Board and Executive now consider this matter closed and will ensure the above sanctions are fully adhered to by the Doveton FNC." The Eagles have also already made several off-field moves as they now look to rebuild the club in Division 3, with Jenny Davis and Chris Sephton jumping on-board as co-presidents in an extraordinary meeting held by the club on 29 January. The SFNL Division 3 season - which also features new clubs South Mornington and the Narre South Saints - is set to kick off on Saturday 4 April. 12419503-SN23-19

Hot favourite 'Often Imitated' claimed her second Group 2 trophy with a dominant victory in Saturday night’s Backman’s Greyhound Supplies Cranbourne Cup Final (520 metres). Trained locally at Pearcedale by Kel and Jackie Greenough, Often Imitated won the Group 2 McKenna Memorial over 595m at Sandown Park last July, while she also contested the finals of the Group 2 Laurels, Group 3 Cup Night Sprint, and Group 3 SA Oaks. A superbly-bred daughter of former staying sensation Sweet It Is, which won the Victoria Cup over 699m on Cranbourne Cup night in 2014, Often Imitated was the $2.20 favourite, ahead of dual Group 1 winner Barooga Brett ($4.80), Jaro Bale ($5.60) and Ultimate Bling ($6.10). In a flawless front-running exhibition, Often Imitated scored by 5.14 lengths in 30.09 seconds, her third win from four 520m assign-
ments at Cranbourne, with Jaro Bale second and Ultimate Bling third. “That one was less stressful because the two (Scatterbox) and the three (Ultimate Bling) just ran wide up the track so she had a big space to go through,” Jackie Greenough said post-race. “Once she got in front it was going to take a pretty strong dog to run her down and I didn’t think they could.” Often Imitated will now be chasing Group 1 glory next Saturday night (15 February) at The Meadows in the Rookie Rebel invitational (600m) on the opening night of the Australian Cup Carnival. Often Imitated has now won 19 races from 41 starts, while the $50,000 first prize took her career earnings up to $203,000. Her victory from the number one box meant another $250 towards greyhound racing’s Go The Red Dog bushfire fundraiser.

Softball takes pride of place The Casey Softball Association is celebrating its inaugural Pride Cup tournament from 7-9 March at Sweeney Reserve. The association is hoping to attract more than 20 teams in both women's Open 1 through to division 6, and men's 1 through to 3, and the tournament is for players aged 16-plus, with grades varying from competitive to social. Players of all abilities are encouraged to play, and participants do not need to be registered through the Casey Softball Association. The Pride Cup will be held every year over the Labour Day long weekend, and as this will be the association's first year in hosting this event, it is looking forward to seeing many new faces - both players and supporters. Yoshi from K2 Baseball and Softball will be there to sell softball gear, and the canteen will be open for the event to provide food and drinks for the long weekend. Furthermore, this will be the first event that Casey Softball Association will hold alongside its new clubrooms. Team registrations are $200 per team, and registrations close on 23 February. Each team is to supply an umpire who is capable of umpiring the grade that team has entered into. Registrations can be made through www.softballpridecup.com. When Jason Ball publicly came out as gay in 2012, his team mates from the Yarra Glen Football Netball Club wanted to show him they had his back. The team came up with the idea to stage a 'Pride Cup', with players wearing rainbow jumpers, and with lines on the field and surrounding areas painted in rainbow colours. It was an event that galvanised the entire community and became the inspiration for the AFL Pride Game. Since hitting the national stage, communities and sporting clubs across Australia have joined the movement. For the weekend's Casey Softball Association games, the sun was out but the swirling wind made conditions a little challenging. Cobras Maroon and Berwick started the day in the mixed under-15s. It was a very entertaining, high scoring game, which saw the Cobras win 17-15. Brooklyn Maloney was a standout for the Cobras, as was Becky Heffer for Berwick. Doveton and Cobras Grey played out an exciting 7-7 draw, with Ava Harrison best for Cobras and Kiera Hoad for Doveton. The mixed under-13s had Berwick up against the ever-improving newbies, Royal Falcons. In a
great game, Berwick emerged victorious 9-7. Jesse Hawker was best for Berwick and Vancouver Estall shone for the Falcons. Doveton played the Cobras in the other under-13 game, with the Cobras comfortable winners 18-4. The social women were up next with the Cobras clinching a come-from-behind 1212 draw against Chiefs United. The secondplaced Penguins played the third placed MVP. Narre scored four runs in the first inning while shutting out MVP. In the second Narre scored another three to take a 7-0 lead, but MVP bounced back to score five and keep Narre scoreless. In the bottom of the third, Narre quickly got two outs and then MVP strung together a few hits, scoring two runs. With the score now tied and bases loaded, a big strikeout ended the game, a very exciting draw. An all-Berwick affair saw Geronimos up against Chickasaw. It was a very friendly game with lots of laughs between club mates and Geronimos walked away comfortable 22-4 winners. Best for was Geronimo Ali Smith, while for Chickasaw Jasmine Hawker stood out. Open Women 2 started with Berwick up against Doveton. Berwick started well, but Doveton got its batting game going in the second innings - finishing comfortable winners 248. The clash between Casey Combined and the Cobras produced a much closer affair. Casey started well but a strong-finishing Cobras saw them just miss out, with Casey winning 10-7. The best for Casey was Ali Smith, while Margie Steendam impressed for the Cobras. Open Women 1 had the association's best women's players facing off in a seesawing game. Strong defence made scoring difficult with the Chiefs the eventual victors over Berwick 7-4. The best player for the Chiefs was Brenda Nicholson, while for Berwick Brooke Steendam made a huge impact. There was just one game in the men's competition with the Cranbourne Asteroids up against the Cobras. Strong batting from the Asteroids saw them emerge 16-3 winners, with Troy Harrison best for the Asteroids. There are no games this weekend due to the under-14 state championships at Mill Park. The softball 'Batter Up' program starts this Thursday. Their streak continues CRANBOURNE BOWLS Cranbourne continued its winning streak, this time away against Glen Waverley with a 21shot victory. But the second side played away against Hampton and found the opposition more suited to the extreme windy conditions on a fast green and went down by 15 shots, making it a little more difficult to stay in touch with the top sides in the competition. A more pleasing result for Cranbourne was for the top side in mid-week bowls, which went on to win by 15 shots against Burden Park. SIDE 1, DIVISION 2 Skip Frank 'Hollywood' Byrne was in good form with his team Doug Boggie, Brian Biasci and Joe Byrne winning by 14 shots, however it was the great comeback from skip Mark Bland and his team, which was almost scoreless up to the tea break, but rallied and only lost by a few shots by the end of the game to ensure victory for the side by 21 shots overall. Head coach Lyn Quigg said after the game that the team has what it takes to go deep this year. "That never give up attitude and determination can take this team all the way to the top. If we keep going with this momentum perhaps we are well on the way to achieving something special this year if we all believe we can do it," she said. Cranbourne 87 (16 points) defeated Glen Waverley 66 (2 points) SIDE 2, DIVISION 2 Cranbourne started off well but a lapse in concentration with a loss of multiple shots at a critical part of the game was costly in the very windy conditions at Hampton and contributed to an upset loss against the fancied Cranbourne side who were expected to win. The steady rink of the day was skip John Mulder and his team of Gary Farrington, Hans Worstelling, and Frank Male who won by 9 shots. Cranbourne 77 (4 points) lost to Hampton 92 (14 points) SIDE 3, DIVISION 4 This game was a thriller and went down to the wire. Skip Sofio Raiti played the last bowl of the day but he could not get that extra hero shot he was looking for and the overall score was a 1 shot loss to Cranbourne at the end of play. Skip Clay Howard and his crew of Harry Van Soest, David Brown and Bob Pyne had an 8 shot win and were the best on the day. Cranbourne 69 (4 points) lost to Berwick 70 (14 points) SIDE 4, DIVISION 6 It was another tight finish with a three-shot loss against Dandenong RSL. That was a disappointment, however guess what, once again Bill the Sherriff road in to town and tried to restore some order, winning by four shots with deputies Cheryl Wright, Derek Maguire and Vic Buttera. (It seems to be a regular occurrence for the Sherriff these days) Cranbourne 80 (4 points) lost to Dandenong RSL Rec 83 (14 points) SIDE 5, SIX-A-SIDE Full points went to Cranbourne with the best winning rink being Skip John Forsythe, Denis
Cranbourne's Shirley Venville was right at home in a big win for the club. Tomlin and Norm Coley with five shots up. Cranbourne 45 (14 points) defeated Carrum 38 (0 points) Midweek bowls results this week were: Cranbourne Side 1, Division 2: 65 (15 points) defeated Burden Park 50 (1 point) A strong win against Burden Park by 15 shots keeps Cranbourne up with the league leaders in the competition and another excellent effort from skip Freda Farrall and her crew of Lois Brock, Graeme Wood and Maree Taylor winning by 9 shots. Cranbourne Side 2, Div 2: 68 (14 points) defeated Armidale 52 (2 points) A great result against Armadale with a 16shot victory thanks again to in-form skip Cheryl Wright, Yvonne Van Der Wees, Gerry Dudink and Vic Butera who won by 14 shots. Cranbourne Side 3, Div 5: 72 (16 points) defeated Cheltenham 42 (0 points) It was a strong game by skip Stan Myers with great support from his crew of Derek Maguire, Shirley Venville and Russell Waters, who won by 16 shots. NARRE WARREN With only a few rounds to play, all seven Narre Warren teams (three Tuesday and four Saturday) are in the finals fight. Tuesday was a bad day for Narre Warren pennant bowlers with all three teams losing. The results did not damage their finals prospects greatly with the three teams still in the four with five games to play. At Fountain Gate, Division 2 played Berwick. Eric Sydenham, Peter Groom, Wally Finlayson and Jim Millar were the only winners (22-13), while Pauline Kempf, Wilma Haringsma, Joe Selfridge and Colin Groom were close, going down 14-18.
Colin Groom rolls one down the green for Narre Warren.
Les Clement, Geoff Ampt, Reg Young and Reg Johnstone were outplayed, losing 8-30. Narre Warren (1) 2-44 lost to Berwick (2) 1461. The loss leaves them in fourth place, one point ahead of the chasing pack. Division 4 travelled to Edithvale and also lost. Luca Klarica, Alan Mark, Joe McGuire and Craig Moore were the only winners (25-19) while Len O'Brien, Brian Nicholls, Gary Wilson and Geoff Miller went down 18-26. One long-time volunteer official and local Rob Davison, who has dedicated his time to 16 MotoGPs and 15 World Superbikes, said he had made life-long friends through getting involved. “My favourite event is the World Superbikes without doubt. It’s so friendly and relaxed and the racing is brilliant, it would be a great way to start as an official,“ Rob said. “I have managed to recruit quite a few officials over the years and now it’s very pleasing to see a lot of females volunteering as well. I would recommend becoming an official, it’s a great way to see racing up close and a great way to meet people with the same interests.“ For further details and to apply go to www. worldsbk.com.au/officials application or phone 03 5952 2710
