MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

SINCE moving to Ocean Grove more than two decades ago, I have observed that our peninsula townships represent ‘the best holiday place to live.’

And for those not fortunate to call the beautiful Bellarine home, it’s also an incredible place to visit at any time of the year.

Whether it’s the surf beaches and family-friendly Barwon River on the south side, or the tranquil Corio Bay to the north offering spectacular views of Melbourne and the You Yangs – or indeed anywhere in between – there is something for everyone.

For food and drink lovers, the Bellarine is home to some of Australia’s best wineries, along with top restaurants and stylish modern cafes. Every seaside town has its own distinct character, but good coffee or a tasty meal is a consistent theme. And given the Bellarine’s strong agricultural diversity, you’ll also discover a wide variety of local producers.

If you like an active holiday, there is a smorgasbord to choose from – be it surfing or ocean swimming, paddling, fishing, walking and running, cycling, or horseback riding.

The coastal trails are magnificent and the peninsula’s interior has a wonderful rural feel. Both are great to explore.

Like everywhere, the Bellarine was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, but our towns have sprung back to life and local businesses are ready to welcome you warmly.

Make the Bellarine your next getaway destination and discover this special place for yourself. There is a risk you may never want to leave!
