Learners bring traffic nightmare

A huge crowd flocked to the Lang Lang Showgrounds for the annual Easter Monday Rodeo despite raining weather. Interstate competitors showed off their equestrian and bullriding skills for spectators, most of which remembered the brollie to keep them dry. STORY PAGES 6-7

Local residents are fed up with the congestion caused by the one way Treloar Lane car park near VicRoads Pakenham. Pakenham resident Keryn Collie said it shouldn’t take her five minutes to exit a car park. “You have to wait for the learners to come out and when you park near the VicRoads it’s bedlam to get out,” she said. Henty Ward councillor Carol Ryan said she has been looking into a solution to the problem. STORY PAGE 3

An Upper Beaconsfield man has taken his appreciation of frontline workers to the revered Archibald Prize - submitting an oil portrait of a Berwick paramedic to honour the dedication of ambos across the country. Peter McLean, who only started painting as a hobby seven years ago, said it was “an easy decision” to choose Ambulance Victoria team manager Nicky Blyth for his prize submission. STORY PAGE 2
