Police covertly recorded Lynn

Berwick’s golden boy

Police listened to more than 5000 covert recordings of Greg Lynn in his home, car and campsites to build the case against the former airline pilot accused of killing campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay. It’s alleged the 56-year-old made comments about the deaths of the campers, which were picked up on the secret listening devices and led to his arrest in November 2021. Mr Hill and Ms Clay vanished while camping in the Wonnangatta area of Victoria’s alpine region in March 2020. STORY PAGE 3

The poll for the seat of Narracan was deferred five days out from election day when National Party candidate Shaun Gilchrist died unexpectedly. It was later revealed he was due in the County Court for sexual offences, with a trial date set for June 2023. STORY PAGE 7

Cardinia Shire is described as a food swamp, where access to highly processed, nutrient poor food is significantly more accessible than nutritional food. Only six per cent of adults and four per cent of children in the shire consume the recommended amounts of fruit and vegetables each day.

Cardinia Shire Council, along with several of partners and stakeholders, made a submission into the inquiry in support of its Community Food Strategy. “Data, from Cardinia Shire Household Food Security Survey 2021, shows us that a significant proportion of Cardinia Shire households are experiencing food insecurity,” Cardinia
