The auction saw 10 registered bidders with Jeanette Catalano and Mario Catalano of Hinternoosa. In a commanding position with an iconic hip roof and white picket fence, the house featured rear lane access. “The auction went really well,’’ Jeanette said. “Most bidders were active. From a $500,000 start bidding went quickly to 700, 800 and then $1m until, after 17 bids, it sold at $1.550m. Interest was mostly local, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, with the eventual buyer looking to come off acreage and wanting to be in town. “The buyer knows people in the vicinity,’’ Jeanette said, “and noticed the auction on the Thursday then made it happen within 24 hours. “It’s a lovely story.
