Rodeo’s 80 years
After last year’s Lang Lang Rodeo was sadly cancelled, this year triumphantly celebrated 80 years with a sold out crowd on Easter Monday.
Approximately three and a half thousand people gathered at the Lang Lang Showground for the annual event, which was highly successful despite a worrying weather forecast.

Funds flow
The State Government has announced it would contribute $250,000 to Cardinia Council for an upgrade to Jim Parkes Reserve in Beaconsfield as part of its Growing Suburbs Fund.
The project was one of 14 projects set to receive funding, including $287,100 to Casey Council for the renewal of Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House and Community Centre in Berwick South.
The proposed concept plan for Jim Parkes Reserve included a senior play area, a junior play area, an outdoor exercise station, a bocce court, timber arbour seating, a composite shade sail pavilion, a dry creek bed, a deciduous urban forest, a picnic shelter and Australian native planting.

Over the limit in Officer
Police officers impounded a Nissan Patrol for 30 days after discovering the driver was more than three times over the blood alcohol limit and four out of the five children in the car were unrestrained.
Police pulled over the seven-seater 4WD on Bridge Road just before 9am on Saturday 30 March, the last car of the booze bus site.
Police observed one child restrained in a booster seat, two children occupying a single seat unrestrained, another unrestrained in a booster seat and another lying flat on the floor behind the driver’s seat.
The 35-year-old Officer man returned an evidentiary breath test of .171.
