Malaysia’s first Inclusive Playground at the City of Elmina, Sime Darby Property collaboration with UNICEF Sime Darby Property Berhad is partnering UNICEF (The United Nations Children’s Fund) to build Malaysia’s first Inclusive Playground at the award winning City of Elmina Township. Scheduled for completion in the first half on 2019, the inclusive playground will be an integral part of the township’s 300-acre central park. Inclusive Playground project seeks to address the following: - Improving in the infrastructure of public spaces making them more inclusive; - Creating opportunities for children with disabilities, Children with Disabilities (CwD) to be visible and interact with other children; - Ensuring participation of CwD in the planning, design and implementation of programmes; and - Promoting more child-centric activities designed to change social norms.

Provide equal opportunities for Children with and without Disabilities to play. Encourage children to accept one another’s differences. Create an inclusive environment where children can learn and develop social skills. Highlight “Inclusion Champions” in Malaysia, through modelling of best practices in inclusive public services and spaces. Raise awareness of CwD right to play and a life free from discrimination. Establish Malaysia as a global leader in encouraging the application of Universal Design Principles. Set a standard of a good practice to be applied and replicated in other parts of the country and in other countries of the region. 4

“D.E.A.R - Drop Everything And Roll” 1.0 Programme, A Sime Darby Property Volunteer Outreach Activities With Selected Orphanage Homes D.E.A.R programme is a series of corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) programme with selected welfare homes within or neighbouring our townships. It is aims to change the selected welfare homes into more comfortable places for the resident and support in term of monetary donation. Two selected welfare homes namely; -

“D.E.A.R - Drop Everything And Roll” 1.0 Programme, A Sime Darby Property Volunteer Outreach Activities With Selected Orphanage Homes • Outcome/ Impact - 16 volunteers turned up to volunteer their time and clocked in 108 volunteer hours for this programme. - Promoted healthy lifestyle through encouragement on clean environment. - Promoted sense of togetherness in community through donation drive of toiletries items (managed to collect targeted amount of toiletries item to hand over to the home). - Two contractors namely Procont Enterprise and I-Vision Sdn Bhd repaired all the toilets, sink, pipe, auto gate, repainting works, gate lights, etc of the homes voluntarily (Rumah Anak Yatim & Perlindungan Nur Qaseh). - Increased knowledge of the children through “How to take care of yourself as a child and safe touch” talk by Malaysian AIDS Council.

Yayasan Sime Darby’s Back to School Programme A collaboration between Yayasan Sime Darby and Sime Darby Property which aims to alleviate the financial burden of families with household incomes below RM3,000 a month by providing school supplies for their children. 935 underprivileged students from nine (9) schools (3 in Kajang: SK Saujana Impian, SK Saujana Impian 2, SMK Saujana Impian; 4 in Pagoh: SK Kota Raja, SK Panchor, SK Paya Redan, SMK Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah 1; and 3 in Negeri Sembilan: SK Labu, SK Tekir) located within and nearby Sime Property developments received a set of new uniforms, school supplies and a backpack to help them start school.

Yayasan Sime Darby’s Back to School Programme • Outcome/ Impact - 935 underprivileged students benefitted from this programme. - 31 volunteers turned up to volunteer their time and participated actively in the programme activities. - 106 volunteer hours clocked for this programme. - Increased social relationship among SDP volunteers and underprivileged students through inclusion of task and teamwork. - Promoted nature awareness through YSD’s awareness talk. - Fulfilled our sustainability goals and purpose in contributing to society by covering Sustainable Development Goals #4 (Quality Education) and #10 (Reduced Inequality) which is to help underprivileged students to get a proper school items for their education like the other students.

Employee Volunteerism Programme Sime Darby Property Volunteers Programme (SDPVP) is to manage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and facilitate the participation of Sime Darby Property staff to be actively involve in volunteering. SDPVP is offering “VTO� or Volunteer Time Off as a benefit to our employees. VTO refers to situations in which employees have the option to take unpaid time away from work without losing benefits or employment status. Since June 2018, seven SDPVP have been conducted so far, 116 volunteers took part in our programme and clocked in 446 volunteer hours.

Sime Darby Property Employee Volunteer Programme (EVP) Portal will be also developed to manage all volunteer programmes. Employee engagement and volunteerism will be tracked and reported via this web-based portal. 14


Employee Volunteerism Programme • Outcome/ Impact - Enable to increase employees’ esprit de corps, foster teamwork and enhance the comraderies and a sense of belonging to the Sime Darby Property Group which helps attract and retain staff via participation in volunteer activities. - Act as a vehicle to establish a trusting and long lasting relationship with the community and in order for us to initiate an impact in the community. - Volunteerism as a means to achieve the SDGs. It enables people to participate in their own development, strengthening social cohesion and trust by promoting individual and collective action, leading to sustainable development for people by people.

We have conducted KPI Cascading Workshop, which were aimed at achieving a singular understanding of the key performance indicators, the expected roles and required skill-sets to meet them effectively. Attended by our senior management, the two-day aimed to develop a full set of KPIs that aligned to the company's aspirations but detailed and comprehensive enough for each person to take ownership of and to lead

We organised our first leadership Series talk in May 2018, which aimed to enhance employees’ knowledge and interaction with key industry captains. The first session involved Dato’ Abdul Rahman Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of Permodalan Nasional Berhad; Dato’ Shahril Redza Ridzuan, the former CEO of the Employees Provident Fund; and Dato’ Wan Kamaruzzaman Wan Ahmad, CEO of KWAP.

Keeping Up with Our Customers – PRIME Programme With such a competitive market, SDP has had to evolve and make our brand stand out to entice and repeat customers. While we have introduced new townships, and even increased our product offering to multiple facets of society, there is also need to reward brand loyalty. Thus SDP introduced its PRIME programme and mobile app to encourage customers to not just stay in touch with us, but also view our latest launches and offerings – with a reward discount programme from 1.5 per cent to 3 per cent. Other benefits includes: • Exclusive property previews and launches • A variety of curated events and workshops such as cooking workshops and golf clinics with legendary golfers. • Discounts from our related partners such as furniture, renovation works, a day out golfing and health screening package.

Keeping Up with Our Customers – PRIME Programme We believe that communication with our customers and offering them the best deals even when they are just about to pick up the keys, is a necessity. This was our surprise for those who got their homes in Elmina Valley Phase 1. In April 2018, we spent weekend answering queries and hosting activities for our 33 new residents receiving their house keys. At the same time, we also surprised them with a 2 year complimentary TIME Fibre Home Broadband with speed up to 300Mbps.Our partnership with TIME also allowed us to provide the community with public Wi-Fi at designated area and hotspots at public parks
