COME VISIT US TODAY

Greetings from the City of Albany and myself. It is my honor to continue to serve all of you as your mayor of this giving, caring and welcoming community.

Our 2021 street improvements on Lake Avenue, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Streets and Church Avenue were fi nished last summer with fi nal lifts of asphalt scheduled for this summer. Thank you to everyone for your patience, especially those living in these construction areas while we completed these much-needed improvements.

The council continues to be aggressive with these reconstruction projects in our high-priority areas which date back 80-plus years. The council has approved a 2022 reconstruction plan for improvements consisting of street, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main and water services for Midland Avenue from 1st Street to 6th Street, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Streets from Railroad Avenue to Midland Avenue including adjacent alleys. We are also working with Minnesota Department of Transportation to complete the intersection of Railroad Avenue and 1st Street (Trunk Highway 238) including turn lanes and signage to help to make this a safe, fl owing intersection. We will provide services and detours during construction to make all projects happen with the least amount of disruption possible.

Albany has so much to off er including our schools, parks, trails, a golf course including an exciting new top tracer driving range, bowling, senior care and a vibrant downtown with many businesses. There are also those who have helped us remodel our main street back into the historic downtown that so many worked so hard to build many years ago.

Let’s make 2022 a great year. Please support all of our local businesses. Join in all the fun of city celebrations and events put on by many of these businesses and the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.

Please contact City Hall at 320-845-4244 with any questions regarding residential or commercial lots. Contact me or any council member with any concerns. Contact information can be found at www.ci.albany.mn.us.

I wish you all good health and happiness in 2022 and always.
