Barbecues

• 1-1/2 pounds ground beef • 1/2 onion, chopped • 1/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar • 1/2 tsp. chili powder • 1 can tomato soup • 1 tsp. mustard • Salt and pepper to taste

Brown ground beef and onion. Add brown sugar and other ingredients. Let simmer 1 hour.

Nut Goodie Bars

• 1 (12-ounce) package chocolate chips • 1 (12-ounce) package butterscotch chips • 1 cup creamy peanut butter • 1/2 cup margarine or butter • 1 (10.5-ounce) package mini marshmallows • 1-1/2 cups peanuts

Melt the chips, peanut butter and margarine; mix in marshmallows and peanuts. Pat in a 9x13 inch pan and chill.

Heath Bar Cake

• 1 white cake mix • 1 (4-ounce) package milk chocolate instant pudding • 2 cups water • 1 egg

Frosting

• 1/4 cup butter • 1 tsp. vanilla • 1 cup powdered sugar • 1 (8-ounce) carton

Cool Whip • 3 frozen and crushed

Heath bars

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix cake ingredients and place in a greased and fl oured 9x13 inch cake pan. Bake for 3040 minutes; cool. For the frosting, mix butter, vanilla, powdered sugar and Cool Whip until smooth; spread over cake. Sprinkle crushed Heath bars on top. Keep refrigerated.

No-bake Cookies

• 2 cups sugar • 1/2 cup milk • 1/2 cup butter • 4 Tbsp. cocoa • 1/2 cup peanut butter • 3 cups oatmeal • 1 tsp. vanilla

Bring sugar, milk, butter and cocoa to a boil. Boil 1 minute; remove from heat. Add peanut butter, oatmeal and vanilla. Toss all and drop by spoonsful on waxed paper and let set up.

Banana Bread

• 1-1/2 cups sugar • 1/2 cup butter or margarine • 2 eggs • 1/2 cup nuts, optional • 1/2 cup sour milk • 1 tsp. soda • 2 cups fl our • 1/4 tsp. salt • 3 bananas

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar, eggs and butter; add sour milk, bananas and nuts. Add dry ingredients and mix together; pour into two greased loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour.

Prize-Winning Meat Loaf

• 1-1/2 pounds ground beef • 3/4 cup oatmeal • 1/4 cup onion, chopped • 1-1/2 tsp. salt • 1/4 tsp. pepper • 1 cup tomato juice • 1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together and put in loaf pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Good Old All-American Caramel Rolls

• 2 loaves frozen bread dough, thawed • 1 cup brown sugar • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon • 2 Tbsp. milk • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine • 1 small package vanilla pudding (not instant) • 1 small package butterscotch pudding (not instant) • Pecans, if desired • Walnuts, if desired

Tear apart bread and put in 9x13 inch greased pan. (Pecans or walnuts may be put on the bottom of the pan if desired – add a little more butter if you do). Mix together the rest of the ingredients and pour over bread pieces. Let rise for 1/2 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 1/2 hour. Turn out onto a cookie sheet.

Beef Stew

• 2 pounds stew meat, cut into 1-1/2 inch pieces • 2 medium onions, cut in pieces • 3 sticks celery, cut in pieces • 4 medium carrots, cut in pieces • 2 medium red potatoes, cut in slices • 1 green pepper, cut in pieces • 1 cup tomato juice • 1 Tbsp. sugar • 1 Tbsp. salt • 1/4 tsp. pepper • 1/2 tsp. basil • 1 package brown gravy mix • 1/3 cup quick-cooking tapioca

Combine all ingredients in crock pot and cook on high for 6-8 hours. Stir occasionally.
