Filzen family fi nds success with equine

KIMBALL – With a focus on form to function, the winner’s circle is not a foreign destination for Paul Filzen and his family’s equestrian center, Filzen Show Horses. The family has seen great success over the years showing, selling, training and breeding horses.

“The secret to success isn’t a fancy diet or who can spend the most money. It is good genetics and consistent work,” Filzen said.

Filzen and his wife, Mary, have been working with horses for over 35 years. Their sons, Ty and Troy, grew up training and showing horses and remain active on the farm, helping when available.

The Filzens have built their business as a family-run operation with an emphasis on ethics and ensuring they are providing what is in the best interest of both their horses and clients.

“What makes us unique is that we do not hire out any of the workload,” Filzen said. “Either myself, wife or sons do the work – training, chores and showing. It allows us to truly know the horses.”
