Nancy Powell and her niece, Maya Brixendorf, spent a July day together at Hemker Park and Zoo in Freeport. They were able to meet – and feed – this great big new friend, Tio the rhinoceros.

Thank his wife for cooking, delivering meals, running for parts, doing chores and helping in the fi elds all while taking care of her usual jobs. Thank his hired man and children for working endless hours to ensure the crop is harvested in time.

Thank the entire family who is OK with putting personal wishes aside and working as a team to complete the huge tasks that face them every season.

Farming is a family business. We all eat because of the hard work and sacrifi ce GIVEN BY EVERY FARM FAMILY. God bless them!!!
