ABOUT THE CHEFS CHE SPIOTTA, Season Seven Winner Growing up in Long Island, Spiotta’s love and passion for culinary began at the age of three-and-a-half when he used to watch his father cook authentic Italian meals and classic Italian dishes at his Brooklyn home. Since the age of four, he has been watching shows on The Food Network, studying cook- books, practicing savory as well as baking pastry, baking desserts recipes, experiment- ing by putting his own unique, gluten-free twists, sharpening his knife skills since the age of five. Since his MasterChef Junior vic- tory, Spiotta has guest starred on breakfast morning TV shows, attended Camp Mas- terChef in Connecticut, travels to schools, public events, and culinary projects across the U.S. as a motivational guest speaker, is a Private Chef, and brand ambassador to raise awareness about gluten-free foods. MALIA BAUER, Season Seven Finalist “I’m just a girl who dreams and believes. I was a fan of MasterChef Junior for years. I watched every episode. At the end of each episode when the announcer reminded the viewers about casting, I would ask my mom
to audition. My mom would caution me and say, what are the odds? I didn’t care about odds, I just wanted to go for it! So, we did! The Masterchef Junior experience did not disappoint. The once in a lifetime experiences, the culinary adventures and the MasterChef Junior friendships continue! I’m so grateful to be a part of the MasterChef Junior family. When I’m not in the kitchen, you can find me working on my other passion in the dance studio. I love all forms of dance and I don’t mind putting in long hours. When I do something I love, it doesn’t feel like work. In my spare time, I like to indulge in extreme sports like motocross, wake boarding, and waterskiing.” MATTHEW SMITH, Season Seven Matthew Smith is a 10-year-old 4th grader from Livingston, NJ. He was a Top 8 finalist in MasterChef Junior Season 7 when he was eight-years-old and in the second grade. Besides cooking, Smith enjoys swimming, dance, piano, gymnastics, and singing. He is Vice President of his school’s student council and his motto is ‘dream it, do it.’ Smith was part of the MasterChef Jr. Live! debut in the Fall of 2019, was a guest on MasterChef Jr. Camp and was recently on the Rachael SUN, MARCH 8, 2020 AT 7PM
Ray Show where he prepared one of his favorite side dishes, warm tomato salsa with rainbow chard stems. When Smith is older, he hopes to own a farm to table restaurant to influence people to eat local, fresh, and healthy food. AVERY MEADOWS, Season Six Avery Meadows is your typical 12-yearold Texas girl, with a twist. At only eight, she was the finalist on Season 6 of MasterChef Junior...if you ask her, the highlight of her life, so far. She made lifelong friendships, memories, and experiences that most kids can only dream of. Even after the show she has continued her love of cooking and baking and enjoys learning the Texas art of grilling with her “Poppie” on the weekends. She has become quite the French macron enthusiast and has mastered the art of the difficult pastry. When she is not in the kitchen, you can find her on the volleyball courts with her team, or helping her dad build and fix things around the house. She loves the outdoors and all the activities that go with it in Texas. This year she will be inducted into the local chapter of the National Charity League where she looks forward to serving her community and local schools in need.
