We are delighted to be celebrating 30 years of The Year in Industry (YINI) and with that, new developments to the scheme.
What’s new with YINI? · Platinum Level Accreditation through the Industrial Cadets - students placed with the YINI scheme can now apply for this Award for the work that they complete during their year · YINI Master Class Workshop Initiative – YINI students will be able to select full or ½ day workshops across 3 main categories: Soft or Technical Skills or Sector Overviews to support their continued personal development (such as Presentation Skills, Project Management or overview of the Energy Sector for example)
What’s the same? ·
It’s still free for students to apply to the scheme
·
We place both Pre-University (Gap Year) students and Undergraduate students
·
Students still get help with their CVs and preparing for company interviews
·
Students are still mentored by YINI during their Placement
· YINI continues to place talented and motivated students across the UK with large and small companies · Placements are mainly within the STEM area, with a lot being within engineering but we also offer a smaller number of business, marketing and finance roles too · Electronics/computing students – as technologies advance, there is always a need for more students interested in electronics and computing, so please do encourage students in these areas to register.
How to apply? ·
Students complete a short online application here
