WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITY The TSB Young Persons Work Placement and Work Experience Programmes are excellent opportunities for young people to gain invaluable experience in the working environment. We are delighted to be able to offer these opportunities to local young people, so they get to gain an insight into the world of work. The TSB work experience programme helps you understand the skills and capabilities needed to work in one of our Branches, Offices or Telephone Banking Centres and gives you an understanding of the Financial Services sector. These placements are to work in one of our branches across South Wales, Bristol & Bath. Season + Taste (hospitality for aspiring chefs) Work Experience Opportunity Apply for within 3 months of when you want to start the placement. A typical week for work experience students: Tuesday: Bravas Shift from 10am–4pm You will join the kitchen team at Bravas to see how food is prepared. You will help the team in the downstairs kitchen prepare a few dishes. Start to see the workings of a professional kitchen. Wednesday: Bravas Shift from 4pm–9pm Experience a busy evening service as you assist in the preparation and plating of individual dishes to be sent out to happy customers. Thursday: Bakers & Co shift from 10am–2pm Help bake the cakes and see the production and shaping of our sourdough bread. Friday: Bakers and Co shift from 6:15am–10am Baking shift – help the baker get all the breads and pastries in the oven, ice and decorate the cakes to go on the display. Then help the kitchen set up for a busy morning preparing brunch. At 1pm, enjoy a lunch on us in either Bravas, Bakers & Co or Cargo Cantina to experience hospitality from the other side! Saturday: Cargo Cantina shift from 12:30pm–8pm In the heat of a busy Saturday, help the team prepare for a taco-filled weekend by preparing salsas and guacamole, whilst also being ready to help with plating dishes during service.

Free internet filmmaking workshop in Bristol this weekend! SATURDAY, 27TH APRIL 2019 2019— —11.00AM-3.00PM

Andy Burgess is an internet filmmaker and storyteller who, in 2017, started making Snapchat stories with what he describes as a ‘cinematic feel’. Fast forward two years and he has quickly become one of the most recognised creators on the platform and now also makes videos for Instagram Stories and IGTV. He found his audience on Snapchat when he was living in New York eight years after he left ACC. The workshop will consist of:       

Opening Talk about his journey from ACC to now How to make your story stand out on Instagram (Creating engaging social videos) Building relationships with Brands and creators Behind the scenes of a brand deal How to edit and produce daily content for personal and brand channels How to monetise your creativity Get very hands on in creating some high quality stories as well as learning to do advanced editing on your phones

Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences Summer Residential – Know the Past, Live the Present, Imagine the Future - 8tth-11th July 2019 subjects across the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, a fantastic chance to experience, first-hand, life at the University of Exeter. The programme will include academic sessions, delivered by expert researchers in their fields and social activities, facilitated by student ambassadors and staff. Furthermore, students will experience a campus tour, as well as mini talks on student life and on educational and social opportunities in Higher Education. In studying subjects across the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences disciplines, students will explore the past, the present and the future, and discover how time and experience has shaped society and culture. It will introduce them to a range of stimulating ideas over the course of four days, engaging in perhaps new and alternative topics that they have not yet considered. Apprenticeship Programme / Insight Evening / Work Experience Opportunities - 2019

Launch Pad – Level 7 School Leaver Apprenticeship Programme – Summer 2019 Aimed at ambitious school leavers, Launch Pad is our exciting new Level 7 apprenticeship programme that offers a real alternative to going to university. The role will enable students to train to be a chartered accountant within 5 years through the studying of the ICAEW CFAB and ACA qualifications. Students will be rotated around our Business Services, Audit and Tax departments to give them maximum experience to aid their career development. Volunteering & Work experience


VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

At hop, skip and jump we provide flexible and wrap around care for children and young adults with additional needs. Our Bristol centre has a large area to explore with a wide range of areas including a dark sensory room, a white sensory room, soft play / ball pit area, a music room, a games room and an art room. We also have a fully working kitchen and a massive outdoor space equipped with climbing frames, swings, slides for all ages and abilities and a lovely sensory area. We provide a range of different sessions throughout the year which include: Respite sessions: These sessions run every Saturday and during the school holidays (except Tuesday and Thursday mornings), for children and young adults with additional needs and challenging behaviours. Stay and play sessions: These sessions run every Saturday and during the school holidays (except Tuesday and Thursday mornings) where the service user can come with either their families or carers to use the centre independently. The service user is in full care of their family or carer. After school club sessions: These sessions are currently run on Wednesday and Friday evenings 3:30- 6:00, offering children and young adults with additional needs and challenging behaviour a safe environment to build social skills and engage in fun activities.
