INSIGHT INTO LAW WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME FOR YEAR 12 AND 13 Work Experience programme run in conjunction with PRIME which is an organisation who help to improve access to the legal profession. Every day we are influenced by the built environment around us – shops, offices, industrial buildings, houses and the surrounding countryside all have an impact on the way we live. Did you ever wonder how these properties are developed, whether the buildings going up in our cities are sustainable or how much they are worth? The Pathways to Property Summer School allows students the chance to explore the property industry in more depth. With such a huge variety of roles, from a building surveyor or town planner to a sustainability consultant or financial analyst, there is a role to suit any skillset or personality. Accountancy Apprentice Location: Blenheim Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, Bradley Stoke, BS32 4LA Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexitime to be worked between 8-6, Monday–Friday Minimum salary to start: Pay to be reviewed following completion of 3 month probation period The successful candidate will be working with the directors and staff on the following tasks across a wide variety of clients:    

Bookkeeping VAT return preparation Payroll preparation General administration and secretarial tasks, including answering the telephone, filing and shredding

Upon successful completion of the first year, the candidate would be expected to move on to assist with the following tasks as well as continuing with the above:   

Preparation of annual accounts Preparation of personal tax returns Preparation of corporation tax returns

Civil Engineer Apprentice x 3 (Highway Design and Operations) Are you looking to launch a career in Civil Engineering? If so our apprenticeships could be the place to kick start your journey! The StreetCare Team have 3 exciting apprenticeship opportunities. We have an opportunity for two apprentices in the Highways Design team where you will learn and play a key role in the design and delivery of major highways and public transport schemes in South Gloucestershire. Typical schemes range from pedestrian and cycle route improvements to major road widening for bus lanes and major junction improvements at existing traffic signals junctions and roundabouts. The other apprenticeship opportunity will be working in the Highways Operations Team where you will learn and play a key role in the planning and execution in the construction phase of schemes. You will assist in determining how we build schemes, producing work programmes, formulating safe systems of work, progress reports, materials testing and customer feedback. Over the 3 year apprenticeship, you will receive supervision and guidance from your workplace supervisor, and will have a workplace mentor to support you. As an Apprentice Civil Engineer you will learn and gain knowledge of the following daily duties; 

Outline and detailed design using various Computer Aided Design (CAD) software programmes

Surveying and setting-out

Estimating costs and programming of works

Producing and understanding drawings

Reading and Interpreting specifications

Contacting clients and customers to discuss enquiries and requests for service

Liaising with stakeholders inside and outside the organisation

Working with StreetCare and its supply chain partners

Using Microsoft products such as excel, outlook, project and word

The apprentices will be based at our Broad Lane Depot, Engine Common Lane, Yate and will complete weekly day release with the training provider, Bridgwater and Taunton College with the training delivered at UWE campus, Frenchay.

Launch Pad – Level 7 School Leaver Apprenticeship Programme – Summer 2019 Aimed at ambitious school leavers, Launch Pad is our exciting new Level 7 apprenticeship programme that offers a real alternative to going to university. The role will enable students to train to be a chartered accountant within 5 years through the studying of the ICAEW CFAB and ACA qualifications. A typical week for work experience students: Tuesday: Bravas Shift from 10am–4pm You will join the kitchen team at Bravas to see how food is prepared. You will help the team in the downstairs kitchen prepare a few dishes. Start to see the workings of a professional kitchen. Wednesday: Bravas Shift from 4pm–9pm Experience a busy evening service as you assist in the preparation and plating of individual dishes to be sent out to happy customers. Thursday: Bakers & Co shift from 10am–2pm Help bake the cakes and see the production and shaping of our sourdough bread. Friday: Bakers and Co shift from 6:15am–10am Baking shift – help the baker get all the breads and pastries in the oven, ice and decorate the cakes to go on the display. Then help the kitchen set up for a busy morning preparing brunch. At 1pm, enjoy a lunch on us in either Bravas, Bakers & Co or Cargo Cantina to experience hospitality from the other side! VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

At hop, skip and jump we provide flexible and wrap around care for children and young adults with additional needs. Our Bristol centre has a large area to explore with a wide range of areas including a dark sensory room, a white sensory room, soft play / ball pit area, a music room, a games room and an art room. We also have a fully working kitchen and a massive outdoor space equipped with climbing frames, swings, slides for all ages and abilities and a lovely sensory area. We provide a range of different sessions throughout the year which include: Respite sessions: These sessions run every Saturday and during the school holidays (except Tuesday and Thursday mornings), for children and young adults with additional needs and challenging behaviours. Stay and play sessions: These sessions run every Saturday and during the school holidays (except Tuesday and Thursday mornings) where the service user can come with either their families or carers to use the centre independently. The service user is in full care of their family or carer. After school club sessions: These sessions are currently run on Wednesday and Friday evenings 3:30- 6:00, offering children and young adults with additional needs and challenging behaviour a safe environment to build social skills and engage in fun activities.
