A TASTE OF LIFE AS A COLLEGE STUDENT TUESDAY 9TH JULY
WHAT TO EXPECT
On Tuesday 9th July, St Brendan’s Sixth Form College are hosting a ‘Discovery Day’. The purpose is to give Year 10 students from schools across Bristol the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a Sixth Form student and participate in a range of lessons.
Students will spend the day at the College and each take part in 2 taster lessons. To get the full College experience it will be a non-uniform day. You are welcome to bring lunch with you or purchase food from the 2 cafes on site. Meal deals are £4.50 each, and there are individual items priced from £1.50.
The cafes are cashless so please make sure you have a card/contactless payment on your phone.
For their lessons all you need to bring with you is a pen/pencil and if you’re taking part in a Sport lesson please make sure you wear/bring trainers and suitable clothing.

In this session students will explore the genre conventions in TV and Film.
We shall be completing a practical exercise around the campus to determine factors that influence flooding. It might be muddy!

Through investigating the stories and artefacts of the past you will be able to piece together fascinating aspects of the history of our city (Bristol).

Learn about who juries are, how they are selected and why they are so important to the English legal system. This will be followed by a group task where students will select their own jurors from a panel of celebrities!
This lesson provides an introduction to the A-level topic of infinite series, with a focus on geometric series. Students will use IT to investigate series.
An introduction to composition using technology such as loops on Logic Pro X.
