Let us spark your daughter’s curiosity and nurture her love of learning on her journey to starting school. Ages 3-4.

Would your daughter like to join our Cat Class for girls aged 3 and 4 years old?

Cat Class offers a stimulating, friendly and nurturing environment where your daughter can participate in hands-on activities to spark her curiosity and love of learning. Your daughter will make new friends, whilst building strong social skills and foundations for learning in preparation for starting school. Activities are led by our Early Years team in a Reception classroom and include arts and crafts, imaginative and messy play to inspire exploration and discovery. Each week we invite specialist teachers of music, ballet, computing, PE and outdoor learning to promote a breadth of experiences. We would love to be part of your daughter’s learning journey, as she takes her first steps towards starting school in a rich and fun environment.

CAT CLASS

Miss Jefford is Deputy Head, Head of Pre-Prep and joined us in 2017. With a passion in the early development and education of children, she trained as a Norland Nanny and went on to complete a BA Hons in Early Years Teaching. She has 22 years of experience working with children: as a Nanny, Nursery Practitioner, Teaching Assistant and Primary Teacher.

ACTIVITIES

Fun is at the heart of all our activities. Cat Class builds on the girls’ confidence and strengthens foundations for learning within a nurturing and vibrant Reception classroom. Activities encompass the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS), promoting the girls’ development in the Prime Areas of Learning: Communication and Language; Physical Development; and Personal, Social and Emotional development.

This really is the perfect introduction to school for little ones. Cat Class has quickly become my daughter’s favourite afternoon of the week. She now cannot wait to go to ‘big school’!

SPECIALIST TEACHERS

Mrs Eringa is Dance Principal and joined us in 2020. She has 17 years experience as a dance teacher and has worked internationally as an examiner of the Royal Academy of Dance classes.

Mrs Malins is Director of Computing and joined us in 2012. She has a particular interest in technology and maths. She very much enjoys gardening, tennis and walking her dog.

Cat Class has been a fantastic introduction to ‘big school’ for G and it has been lovely to see her confidence develop not only in forming new friendships but also with the teachers. The passion and enthusiasm of the teachers alongside the variety of activities offered is fantastic and has certainly provided my daughter with an excellent grounding ahead of starting school.

Mrs McGuigan is Director of Sport. She joined us in 2021. She is passionate about developing a lifelong love of sport in the girls.

Mrs Jones is Director of Music and joined us in 2022. She is an experienced teacher and musician who is passionate about sharing her love of music and inspiring the girls in their creativity and music making.

At Cat Class your daughter will:

Please note there will be no sessions on Friday 6th October, Friday 27th October during half term and Friday 10th November.

Families looking to join our Reception class in September 2024 will be invited to attend:

• Taster Afternoon on Friday 6th October, 1.30pm - 2.45pm

• Informal Play Assessment on Saturday 14th October

• 4+ Offer Holders Event on Friday 10th November
