'51 NANCY SANDERS PETERSON HEARN The Manufacturing Institute has announced Nancy Peterson Hearn, chairman and CEO at Nashville-based Peterson Tool Company, winner of the Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Ahead Award.

The STEP Ahead Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry.

'69 BONNIE BENEKE The Nashville Children’s Alliance named the clinical department after Bonnie S. Beneke for her years of service protecting children from the trauma of abuse.

'88 ANA ESCOBAR History was made in Nashville as Ana Escobar (SCA '88) was elected to the general sessions court. She is the first Hispanic person to be elected judge in Nashville.

'94 MELISSA HILLER HANNAH Melissa started a school for children with dyslexia in Little Rock, Arkansas: www.littlerocksoiree.com/ women-to-watch/124/ melissa-hiller-hannah

'98 LLESLIE WALLACE CONGDON Saint Virginia is a stationery company founded by Leslie Wallace Congdon (1998) to help support the complex needs of her daughter, Virginia, who was diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome, an extremely rare neurological disorder. Virginia still has daily seizures, is blind, doesn't walk or talk, and relies on her family to meet all of her needs. All cards are hand-stamped and packaged, with love, in Nashville, TN by Leslie. Proceeds from sales and donations directly support handicapped renovations and equipment needed to support Virginia. Leslie also works as a nurse at St. Thomas West Hospital, and her husband Emil is owner and creator behind local leather and furniture company, Emil Erwin.

The Congdons live in Nashville, TN with their five children: Porter (10), Virginia (8), Boone (6), Wally (4) and baby Vodin born 4/27/19. Cards can be purchased online at www.saint-virginia.com.

ANNIE HAGAMAN Annie Hagaman started a jewelry business, "Paper Annies" based out of Chattanooga. Check out her instagram @paperannies.

'00 KATIE WELLS Katie's experience as a Paralympic competitive swimmer, work with disabled veterans, and years-long relationship with pen pal Fred Rogers of Mr. Rogers television fame all played a vital role in helping her write her first children’s book, “I Can Still Do Everything with One Arm.”

'01 MARY SIEFKER MULLINS Mary Siefker Mullins '01works for the DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity)and is an Assistant Principal at John O. Arnn Elementary School in Japan. She and her husband Jack have three beautiful children, Carsyn, 7 Mackenzy 5, and baby, Flynn born September 10, 2019 in Ewakuni, Japan.

JENNIFER GILLESPIE WILLIS Jennifer Gillespie Willis ’01 and her husband started a coffee company called Southern Mug Coffee. (www.southernmug.com) The company's mission: "With every bag of coffee you purchase, Southern Mug Coffee will provide a meal to a person in need. Buy one, give one."

'02 AMANDA JARRARD MITCHELL Amanda Jarrard Mitchell (Overbrook '98, St. Cecilia '02) Traveled the world with her husband, Rich. '03 LAUREN SMITH Lauren Smith returned to The Dominican Campus in 2014 to complete her education at Aquinas College. She now works as an Associate Publisher at Fresh Ink Group, located in Guntersville, AL, and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, new talent acquisition, and copy-editing.

'10 LAURA LYNN WILLIAMS On June 22, 2018, Laura Lynn Williams, graduated from Metro Nashville's police academy and became an MNPD Officer. (Pictured is her mom, Lynn Williams, pinning her badge at the graduation ceremony.)

'19 MALLORY MIRE Mallory is a cheerleader at Rhodes College in Memphis.

'12 ALI CAPRIOLI Ali Caprioli is in Seattle working at The Boeing Company as a Mechanical Systems Engineer for large commercial aircraft, designing and integrating various temperature and pressurization systems onto the planes. Her current project has her working on a custom Boeing 747, which is a double decker plane and will be customized to be fit for a president! '15 TRACY CHERIAN Tracy Cherian earned her BA in Neuroscience from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. She is currently working as a scribe at St. Thomas Midtown in the ER while preparing for medical school. '16 CAROLINE WATKINS Caroline Watkins was Awarded the Miranda Lambert ‘Women Creators’ Scholarship at Belmont University. Go to carolinewatkins.com/ to learn more. '88 GERMAINE GOMEZ Germaine Gomez '88 married Mr. Tim Huffaker on December 22, 2019. '01 JILL BADER Jill Bader ’01 and David Thompson were married on January 5, 2019 at the Church of the Assumption in Nashville. Friend Noel Pittman ’01 was Cantor and soloist and her classmates Victoria Richards, Lindsey Conlin Walsh, Jordan Moore Vaughan, and Tara Neuhoff Walsh all participated in her wedding mass. MARGOT GASTON Margot Gaston married Philip Dickman on June 13, 2018 at Christ the King Church, Nashville, TN. The couple welcomed baby Patrick Joseph on November 25, 2019. '02 ALEXANDRA BUDSLICK Lexi Budslick ‘02 married Tim Fetzer in August 2019 and they live in Frankfurt, Germany.

'05 LIZ MIZELL Liz Mizell '05 married Michael Koppes on October 5, 2019. The couple resides in Washington, DC.

CHRISTINE SIMPSON Christine Simpson '05 married Kevin Wessa on November 9, 2019 at Assumption Church in Nashville. The couple resides in Pensacola, FL.

'06 KATHERINE SAXON Katherine Saxon'06 married Jonathan Keith of Knoxville, Tennessee on July 28, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Bridesmaids included SCA grads: Allie Saxon ('09), Liz Cannon ('06), and Sam Doust ('06).

Joanna met husband, Scott Lawley, in college at Auburn University and got married on July 14th at Church of the Assumption. Her bridesmaids from St. Cecilia were Anna Vaughn (Class of '11), Cate Hargrove (Class of '11) and Ellie Fike (Class of '12.) Rachel Burley (Class of '11) was also a reader during the ceremony.

KATELYN MILLER Katelyn Miller married John Bishop November 15, 2019 at Assumption Church in Nashville, TN. Emily Warren married Neil Feldman on April 14, 2018 at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, Nashville TN, surrounded by many SCA alumnae.

AIMEE SHELIDE MAYER After many years (and prayers) on the extended journey to parenthood, Aimee and Collen Mayer were thrilled beyond belief to welcome Amat Joseph and Zoë Marie (boy/girl twins born September 12, 2019) into their lives through the gift of adoption.
