FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome to the St. Cecilia Academy Players’ performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!

It has been a joy to direct this beloved tale, one that brings the enchantment of fairy tales and the beauty of transformation to life. Beauty and the Beast invites us to journey with Belle and the Beast as they discover that true beauty lies within. The Beast, initially trapped in a self-imposed prison, meets Belle—a strong young woman unafraid to challenge him. She is the first to truly see beyond his beastly exterior. Through her courage and compassion, he begins to see her for who she is and realizes he is capable of both giving and receiving love. Belle, too, finds unexpected growth, singing

“A Change in Me” as she becomes content in herself, her earlier desire for adventure transformed. In finding love for each other, Belle and the Beast show that transformation comes from within and that love has the power to bring out the best in us all.

For this production, I envisioned it as a storybook unfolding onstage, celebrating the timeless lessons classic stories impart. I hope that both young and old will connect with the journey of these characters and take away a reminder of the power of compassion and self-acceptance.

I am endlessly proud of this talented cast and crew, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to several key contributors. To our incredible guest performers—Parker, Hudson, Noah, Caleb, and Leo—thank you for your talent and dedication. Congratulations to our seniors—Blake, Emma, Saranda, Eliya, Eve, Sophia, Jessie, Anna Kate, Dalton, El, and Princess! Your presence and leadership have enriched this production, and we are excited to see where your paths will lead.

Thank you to the faculty, staff, and sisters, especially our principal, Sister Josemaria, our vice principal of academics, Sister Elise, and our fine arts chair, Amie Pike. Your constant support allows the arts to flourish at St. Cecilia. I am also deeply grateful for our adult production team—Nicole, Diane, Kyle, and Maddie—whose commitment and expertise have brought this show to life.

Finally, I dedicate this performance to my parents, who always inspired us to use our imaginations and nurtured our love for Disney fairy tales. They taught me that stories have a special way of touching the heart and reminding us of life’s possibilities.

May this story draw you in and leave you with wonder and joy. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
