Camp St. Cecilia is a summer program designed to give girls ages 4-17 an opportunity to have fun while learning. Campers

experience St. Cecilia Academy’s academics, athletics, and fine arts programs while interacting with faculty, students, coaches, alumnae, and parents. The camps offer excellent instruction for girls by experienced instructors. Each girl attending Camp St. Cecilia will be exposed to skills in a variety of areas to further develop her academic and extracurricular interests..

CAMP HOURS: All camps are half-day, either from 9 a.m.noon or 1-4 p.m. Girls attending both sessions may stay all day, bring a lunch and eat in the cafeteria with other campers and Camp St. Cecilia staff members.

BEFORE AND AFTER-CARE: Camp St. Cecilia is happy to

offer before and after-care from 7:30-8:45 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. Girls will enjoy a snack, play games, and participate in other activities. Cost is $40 per week for before or after-care, $75 for both. Sign up during camp registration.

REGISTRATION: Registration is not complete until payment is

received. A camp T-shirt and a snack during each day of the camp are included in the camp fee. A medical and photography release form for each camper must be completed as well. Athletic camps also require a signed concussion statement. All registrations will be confirmed via email prior to the start of each camp. Families with more than one camper should register each child separately. The grade level for camps is the grade a child enters in August 2022.

DROP OFF/PICK UP: Drop off and pick up will be at the circle drive near the Fine Arts Center. Check in will begin at 8:45 a.m. the first day of each camp week for the morning session and 12:45 p.m.

for the afternoon session. Campers dropped off before 8:45 a.m. will report to before-care at the $10 per day drop in rate. Campers not picked up by 4 p.m. will go to after-care at the $10 per day drop-in rate. Drop off and pick up procedures will be sent out the week prior to your camp session. Locations may change due to expected renovations in the building.

ALLERGIES: Please inform Camp St. Cecilia of any food aller-

gies. Baking and cooking camps are not allergy-free. Camp staff will provide allergy-free snacks to those who request them.

REFUNDS: We will refund 75% of your camp fees only if it is requested prior to May 13, 2022. We cannot make any refunds after this date. If camps are cancelled by Camp St. Cecilia, full refunds will be given. UPDATES: Updates to camp procedures, cancellations,

and other information will be posted to the camp website at stcecilia.edu/camp, the Camp St. Cecilia Facebook page, and emailed to parents prior to each session.

JUNE 6-10, 9 A.M.-12 P.M. Under the Sea: Grades PreK-2 $150 Dive in as we explore the wonder and amazement of oceans and the creatures that live there! Campers will make crafts, read stories, make sensory sand and rescue an animal from a frozen ocean. Amy Patterson, an SCA mother and teacher at Percy Priest Elementary, will be the captain of this adventure! World Traveler Camp: Grades K-5 $160 Every day is an adventure and each day is a new country in this camp! Campers will collect passport stamps as they explore food, clothing, languages, and culture from all over the world. From Italy to Kenya, girls will explore all the world has to offer! Shelly Gaughan ’06 and Lauren Stretka are both elementary teachers and will teach this camp. *Note- campers will be in grade level groups for this camp, K-2 and 3-5. Baking Creations: Grades K-6 $160 Do you LOVE to bake and create? In this exciting camp, campers will combine baking in the kitchen with coordinated projects and crafts you’ve always wanted to try! Each day brings a new adventure such as on our spa themed day, campers will

Math is 4 Girls: Grades 3-5 $150 This camp boosts girls’ math skills to a new level through fun hands-on activities. The camp will spend time working with multiplication, division, word problems, and fractions. Girls will also work with logic and reasoning skills. There will be a lot of fun making games out of mathematical concepts, including a “pi” celebration at the end of the week. SCA alumna and Overbrook School math and science teacher Diane Meier ‘91 will teach this camp. Lights, Camera, Dance!: Grades 3-5 $150 Grab your boas, throw on your sunglasses and get in the dance studio! Girls will feel like they are dancing on the big screen in this camp. They will strut like a movie star and be the star that they are! This camp will be taught by St. Cecilia Dance Academy instructor Maddie Williams. She has a degree in dance pedagogy and danced with Disney Cruise Line before moving to Nashville. Smart Science: Grades 3-5 $150 Transform science into fun with hands-on activities! Prepare demonstrations and participate in experiments on topics such as grossology, rockin’ rockets, radical reactions, and earth awareness. SCA alumna and St. Henry teacher Robyn Biga ’00 will lead the madness of great science.


Advanced Volleyball: Grades 7-8 $130 This camp is geared towards volleyball players with experience. Each day the drills will develop specific skills leading up to a final day of competitive situations. SCA head volleyball coach Sarah Cragon ‘08 and current volleyball players will coach this camp.

JUNE 6-10, 1-4 P.M. Animals and Art: Grades K-2 $150 Are you an animal lover? Learn to draw and create animals in a variety of art materials in this camp. Girls will explore clay, paint, pastel, and recycled materials to create a collection of animals from around the world in this camp. This camp will be taught by Libby Goldammer who teaches art for home school students and volunteers at St. Edward School, including an after school art club. Libby loves to paint and draw in her free time. Baking Creations: Grades K-6 $160 Do you LOVE to bake and create? In this exciting camp, campers will combine baking in the kitchen with coordinated projects and crafts you’ve always wanted to try! Little Scarab Basketball Camp: Grades 1-4 $130 This fun basketball camp is for girls of all skill levels interested in developing individual fundamentals and team-building skills.


Campers will be taught basketball basics, form shooting, and participate in fun games and drills. Head basketball coach Cassi Whitworth will lead this camp along with members of the SCA basketball team. Broadway, Baby!: Grades 2-5 $150 Campers will dance to some of musical theater’s greats in this camp. From the classics to newly popular shows, girls will learn a variety of styles and work on their acting and performance skills. Throw on your dance shoes and come give your regards to Broadway! This camp will be taught by St. Cecilia Dance Academy instructor Maddie Williams. She has a degree in dance pedagogy and danced with Disney Cruise Line before moving to Nashville. The Magic of Disney Imagineering: Grades 3-5 $150 Using project based learning, campers will create their own theme park design based on the principles of Disney Imagineering. Over the course of the week, girls will use their STEM skills, artistic abilities, and imagination. This camp will ignite curiosity, inspire creativity, and encourage innovation! Julia Field is a third grade teacher at St. Henry School and is excited to teach this camp. Forensics—The Art of Public Speaking: Grades 5-8 $150 This camp is a great way to learn the ins and outs of forensics and public speaking. Campers will explore the worlds of prose, poetry, and duet acting. This camp is designed to give girls a glimpse into the world of forensics and the skills that are a great preparation for any forensics team. SCA alumna Diane Meier ’91 teaches at Overbrook School and will coach this camp.


JUNE 13-17, 9 A.M.-12 P.M. When You Wish Upon a Star: Grades K-4 $140 Girls channel their inner princess and dance the days away in this camp. Dancers will dance to favorite Disney hits, play games, and learn magical dances to show family at the end of the week. This camp will be taught by St. Cecilia Dance Academy instructor Maddie Williams. She has a degree in dance pedagogy and danced with Disney Cruise Line before moving to Nashville. American Girl Camp: Grades 1-4 $165 Pack your doll for a week of American Girl adventure! We will explore the life and times of Nanae, Kit, Julie, Addy, Luciana, and Samantha through crafts, activities, games, and story time. At the end of the week, we will celebrate with our dolls at an ice cream social! SCA history teacher Sara Strobel ‘01 will teach this camp. Wonderful World of Art: Grades 1-4 $160 Campers will tour the globe with the camp theme and each day they will explore the art and cultures of a new continent. They will use clay, fibers, paint, paper, pastels, and other materials to create their own versions of art based on the traditions and cultures of each continent. This exploration of art will be led by Libby Goldammer who teaches art for home school students and volunteers at St. Edward School, including an after school art club. Libby loves to paint and draw in her free time. Creative Stitching: Grades 3-5 $150 Learn the life-long hobby of cross stitching in this camp! Girls will learn the basic stitches used in cross stitching to create a sign, candy jar and key fob or bookmark. This camp will be taught

by Angela Siefker, a retired Overbrook School preschool teacher with over 40 years of experience. She is an active needle pointer, knitter, and cross stitcher and enjoys teaching these to others. The Great Camp St. Cecilia Bake Off: Grades 4-6 $150 Calling all bakers! Join us as we create classic desserts with a creative flair in this camp! Girls will develop their baking skills with daily themes and friendly challenges just like the on-screen baking competition. SCA parent and wellness teacher Margy Galassini is excited to teach this camp! Middle School Basketball Camp: Grades 5-8 $130 This fun basketball camp is for girls of all skill levels interested in developing individual fundamentals and team-building skills. Campers will be taught basketball basics, form shooting, and participate in fun games and drills. JUNE 13-17, 1-4 P.M. U Go Girl!: Grades K-4 $170 The focus of this camp is a week filled with fashion, beauty, dancing, and crafts. There will be a pajama party, movie, and camp fashion show. Campers will have fun being a GIRL! Overbrook teacher and SCA alumna Jada Edmondson ‘85 will lead this camp. Moves Like Moana: Grades 1-3 $150 In this camp, girls will spend their days dancing on the island of Motonui and doing what Moana and her people do best-working as a team! They will dance to Moana’s favorite music,


play games, and learn dances to show families at the end of the week. This camp will be taught by St. Cecilia Dance Academy instructor Maddie Williams. She has a degree in dance pedagogy and danced with Disney Cruise Line before moving to Nashville. Read and Write Storybooks Camp: Grades 3-5 $140 Join Overbrook librarian, Caroline Crouch for this fun camp filled with story time and writing. Campers will read lots of story books and even learn how to write our very own story! Girls are free to bring summer reading assignments, too. Parents will join us for a “reading in the round” to show off our stories on the last day. Once Upon a Musical: Grades 4-8 $150 Do you love musical theatre? Join us for a week of performing various scenes, songs, and dances from beloved musicals which will be rehearsed during the week and performed in a showcase the last day of camp. St. Henry School musical producers Carol Ann Jones and Marie Smith have partnered for 15 years and will direct this camp. Ready, Set, Play!: Grades 5-8 $140 This camp is for girls who love sports and physical games. Campers will play volleyball, kickball, dodgeball, capture the flag, SPUD, basketball, four corners and more as they exercise and develop team building in games and competitions. SCA director of student activities Margaret Pyburn ’93 is a former PE teacher and excited to teach this camp.

JUNE 20-24, 9 A.M.-12 P.M. Camp JOY!: Grades PreK-1 $75 Getting to know Jesus, Others, and Yourself leads to true JOY in the Christian life! Join the Dominican Sisters for a week of faith and fun, as together we grow in our friendship with Jesus through daily theme-based activities that incorporate the Scriptures, the saints, and various virtues. We will make new friends and have a lot of fun through a mix of age-appropriate games, activities, and crafts that help us discover more about God, ourselves, and the fascinating treasures of our Catholic faith! Wonderful World of Art: Grades 1-4 $160 Campers will tour the globe with the camp theme and each day they will explore the art and cultures of a new continent. Itsy, Bitsy Spikers (Beginning Volleyball): Grades 3-4 $130 This camp will take the energy and excitement of volleyball, a great team sport, and put it all together for one fun-filled camp. We will focus on developing fundamental skills through gamebased drills and fun activities and themes. Life lessons such as teamwork and sportsmanship will also be a focus. SCA parent and wellness teacher Margy Galassini has many years of coaching experience and will teach this camp. Card Stitching: Grades 5-8 $170 Join us for a week of sewing handmade cards. Each camper will learn how to stitch birthday and holiday cards to make for friends and family. Girls receive a starter kit to continue making cards at home. Overbrook teacher and former SCA mom Jacquie Grytza and her daughter Olivia’20 will teach this camp. Middle School Tennis Camp: Grades 5-8 $130 All levels of tennis experience are welcome in this camp, from beginner to intermediate to advanced. Camps will focus on fundamentals (forehand, backhand, volley, serve), drills and games, and eventually match play. This camp will be coached by SCA head tennis coach, David Donlon.

JUNE 20-24, 1-4 P.M. Empower ME!: Grades K-3 $160 In the Empower ME! camp, we will be introducing girls to wellness practices including exercise, nutrition, and self-care through fun games, journaling, and easy recipes to try at home. This camp will be taught by personal trainers and nutrition coaches Marie Smith and Stephanie Kemp.


We’ve Got Spirit!: Grades 1-3 $160 This camp will be an introduction to the world of cheer and will be suitable for true beginners and students with a small amount of cheer background as well. Campers will learn the basics of cheer, including chants, arm motions, jumps, and cheer dance. Campers will also have a small craft project daily, along with fun worksheet activities to be put together in a cheer guide. This camp will be taught by Destiny Smith, SCA mom and studio director of Dance In Bloom. Tennis FUNdamentals: Grades 1-4 $130 This camp offers girls a basic understanding of the game of tennis with an emphasis on the fundamentals and match play. Each camper will learn the five basic shots in tennis and also learn to keep score and court position. All skill levels are welcome. This camp will be coached by SCA tennis coach David Donlon. Get Your Game On!: Grades 2-4 $150 Campers will learn individual and group card games to pass time by yourself as well as with family and friends. Campers will work on skills and approaches to fun board games and use these skills to begin family game night. Retired Overbrook School preschool teacher Angela Siefker enjoys playing cards and games with family and friends and will bring her 40 years of classroom experience to teaching this camp. Sugar Cookie Creations: Grades 5-7 $150 In this camp, girls will learn how to make roll and cut sugar cookies and how to decorate each cookie using royal icing. Each day campers will leave with delicious treats! Lauren Caldwell owns Balloon House Cookies and is excited to teach this camp! Improv Comedy: Grades 6-8 $140 Campers will practice thinking on their feet and creating awesome characters all while playing energetic improv games in this camp. Girls will perform for their families at the end of the week. SCA theater director and drama teacher Katie Zakkak will teach this camp. She has worked with students of all ages in plays, musicals, and improvisation.

JUNE 27-JULY 1, 9 A.M.-12 P.M. Living the Fairytale: Grades PreK-K $140 Girls will be immersed into the world of fairytales as they learn and develop pre-literacy and language skills through crafts, games, storytelling activities and treats. This camp will be taught by SCA learning specialist Robyn Spychalski and Marianne Sperry. They have a combined experience of 40 years in the area of speech and language pathology. Families will join us on Friday for campers to show off their talent. The craft master is Lissa Gaughan who teaches fourth grade at Harpeth Valley Elementary. Spies & Unsolved Mysteries in History: Grades 4-6 $140 Do you want to know more about women spies in history? Are you intrigued by stories of Amelia Earhart and the Lost Colony of Roanoke? Campers will discuss the theories behind each of these and other unsolved mysteries along with hands-on activities. SCA parent Philip Stankiewicz is a history teacher at Overton High School and will be the master sleuth leading this camp. Volunteer Service Camp: Grades 7-12 $130 Spend a week giving back to the Nashville community while earning service hours and making new friends. Service opportunities will be conducted at local service agencies, giving girls


exposure to the many areas to pursue volunteerism. SCA social sciences teacher Deanna Kendall is passionate about service as a way to demonstrating Christian love to one’s neighbors and practicing good citizenship.

JUNE 27-JULY 1, 1-4 P.M. Camp Fashionista: Grades PreK-2 $160 Do you love all things fashion? Come join us for a week full of dress-up, accessories, and clothes! We will be making all the latest fashion trends. Parents can join us on Friday while we strut our stuff in our very own SCA fashion show. Lissa Gaughan, a fourth grade teacher at Harpeth Valley Elementary and veteran camp instructor, will teach this camp. Fairytale Science: Grades PreK-4 $160 Who runs the world? Girl scientists! Girls will solve problems for fairytale friends with special STEM solutions. Campers will help Rapunzel get down from her tower, the newest little pig builds a new house, and much more. This camp is for all girls who love to make and create. Each day will include STEM activities led by SCA alumna Meghan Nicholson ’07. American Girl Camp: Grades 1-4 $165 Pack your doll for a week of American Girl adventure! We will explore the life and times of Nanae, Kit, Julie, Addy, Luciana, and Samantha through crafts, activities, games, and story time. Musical Theatre Camp: Grades 4-8 $150 Acting, singing, and dancing—grow your “triple threat” skills in this camp! Campers will learn numbers from popular Broadway shows and develop a culminating performance for families at the end of the week. SCA theater director and drama teacher Katie Zakkak will direct this camp. She brings experience teaching at all grade levels in plays, musicals, and improvisation to this camp. JULY 11-15, 9 A.M.-12 P.M. Tippi Toes Dance Party: Grades PreK-2 $150 Tippi Toes® offers an exciting, fun and energetic Ballet, Tap & Jazz combo class for 4-6-year olds. Class begins with warm ups and stretching exercises as well as activities that encourage dancers to use their imagination while dancing. With our silly, fun, and engaging music students learn dances and choreography quickly. An end of camp show will be held on last day of class. Lauren Stetka is a teacher working with English language learners in Metro Nashville Public Schools and is excited to share her hobbies in this camp! All Skills Volleyball: Grades 5-6 $130 This camp will teach the fundamental skills of volleyball with drills to build with a new skill each day. The week will finish with a day of competitive situations and team-building activities. SCA head volleyball coach Sarah Cragon ‘08 and current volleyball players will coach this camp. Visual Journaling and Mixed Media Art: Grades 5-8 $170 Grab a sketchbook, paintbrush, and other mixed media and join us for this camp! Girls will learn the technique of visual journaling that incorporates visual art and writing together to create meaningful artworks. We will create mixed media artworks to showcase with a gallery show on Friday for families. SCA visual arts teacher Amie Pike will teach this camp.


JULY 11-15, 1-4 P.M. Tippi Toes Hip Hop: Grades 1-4 $150 Tippi Toes® offers an exciting, fun and energetic Hip Hop/Jazz dance class created especially for children 6-10 years of age. Using popular and current music the students start learning dances and choreography quickly as well as learning various dance elements. Our version of hip hop/jazz is extremely tasteful and clean, and our priority is offering age-appropriate material. In class recital held on last day of class. Bead Dazzled: Grades 2-5 $160 If you dream of designing jewelry and like things that sparkle, this is the camp for you! Girls will spend the week making their own beads, designing jewelry, adding sparkle to clothing, and creating works of art. Lauren Stetka is a teacher working with English language learners in Metro Nashville Public Schools and is excited to share her hobbies in this camp! Nashville Explorers: Grades 3-8 $150 Explore various attractions around Nashville on this field trip camp! Each day you will travel to places that make Nashville unique such as the Adventure Science Center, area parks, the Parthenon, and much more. The lead explorer for this camp will be SCA history teacher Sara Strobel ‘01. Ready, Set, Play!: Grades 5-8 $140 This camp is for girls who love sports and physical games.
