NGO St. Clement’s Center: Communion and Dialogue of Cultures

• Founded in 2007 in Kyiv with the blessing of His Beatitude Volodymyr, Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine.

• Inaugurated on the feast of St. Clement of Rome on December 8, 2007.

Our Goals and Tasks Main goal: • to contemporize and disseminate the spiritual heritage of St. Clement of Rome and Stt. Cyril and Methodius Principal tasks: • dialogue between Christians and diverse cultural traditions towards peaceful resolution of controversial questions • dialogue of Christians with contemporary culture from a missionary perspective • active participation in spiritual and theological education, promotion of dialogue between academic education and the Church

Kyiv Summer Theological University (annually from 2003) Runs in cooperation with the “Ark” Orthodox spiritual and educational centre of St. Parasceva parish of the village of Lyshnya (Kyiv region). Parish priest – Archimandrite Philaret (Iegorov). Gathers participants (Orthodox, Catholic, Greek-Catholic, Protestant) from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the USA, among other countries. Consists of the Lecture Program and Children’s Academy, which run simultaneously. Provides: 1. Profound theological ecumenical education in a non-formal setting both for laymen and clergy. 2. Profound spiritual component in theological education (regular common prayer and participation in the services of the Orthodox Church). 3. Integration of advanced theological studies with the life of the parish and, thus, with specific local realities of the Church.

Assumption Readings International Theological Conference (yearly, 12 years) •

Organized by European Humanities Research Centre of National University of ‘Kyiv-Mohyla Academy’ in close cooperation with St. Clement’s Centre

Ecumenical event: brings together distinguished theologians from different Christian traditions to discuss topics that unite them

promotes cooperation between Academia and Church by holding the events of the conference both in Church and academic institutions

promotes Christian tradition in Ukraine through raising interest to the conference in wider audiences of Ukrainian society.
