Alma Highland Festival & Games

Each year the festival brings thousands of visitors the very best of Scottish tradition. The festival combines great competition with Scottish hospitality.
The festival is home to the following Regional Competitions:
- Great Lakes Scottish Heavyweight Athletic Competition (Professional/Amateur)
- Great Lakes Highland Dance Championship (Open/Closed)
- U.S. Open Pipe Band Championship Supreme
Watch dozens of world class pipers and drummers playing at once in a massed band performance. Find out about your heritage and hear about Scottish traditions at our many Clan Tents. Check out the Entertainment Tent, featuring live professional entertainment and cold beer on tap. Or take a 5K or 10 K lap, 5K Walk or Kids Fun Run of Scotland USA in the Saturday morning Series of Races before the 10:30 am Street Parade rolls through town.

Alma Alive is an exciting block party filled with activities and fun to help celebrate the community. There are games, family activities, a craft fair, food court, sidewalk sales, a corn hole tournament, and live music downtown. Join us in the fun and come celebrate all things that are great about Alma!

Things to Do
The Village of Breckenridge has a population of 1,200. Breckenridge is the heartland of the county in terms of agriculture. One of the largest grain processing facilities in Michigan is adjacent to the east side of the Village and is owned by Michigan Agricultural Commodities.
For recreation, Breckenridge offers JayCee & Hoffmeyer Park (including Splash Park, disc golf, corn-hole, hoseshoes, and beach volleyball), Birch Street Park, Howe Memorial Library, downtown shopping and restaurants, a golf course, and an active historical society that runs the Plank Road Museum and Drake House.
