South Florida’s: Hot Hair Color Trends for 2016

Salon Sora in Boca Raton‘s Hot Color Trends for 2016

With 2015 well behind us and a new year on the rise, you may be thinking it’s time

to refresh your hairstyle. If you’ve been edging at the bit to get some new ideas to bring in 2016 with a statement, then you’ll enjoy what we’ve found for you. Don’t

forget to ask our colorist at Salon Sora since not all hairstyles work for all people. These are a few color ideas and what’s trending for 2016.

Bronde: If you are typically a blonde, and you’d like to go darker then “Bronde”

maybe the answer for you. Our colorist at Salon Sora can help you plan what will look best, but this is light and dark pieces blended to give you that the sun-kissed

look but not one flat color. To achieve this look, you’ll want to keep the majority of your natural hair color showing and then frame with a lighter or darker tone around the face. Your hair will appear shimmered and is a little maintenance.

Rainbow: If you want to “Wow” them then this is something you’ll want to try some

of the celebrity styles that will captivate your personal audience. Katy Perry has been rocking different colors for a while now, and it seems the trend is only

growing. Think of bright pinks, blues, purples and greens as part of your color choices. If you’re somewhat of a renegade, then have your stylist construct a multilayered color scheme.

Opal: If you prefer a more pastel look then Opal is going to knock your socks off.

This new style is sweeping the nation with its cotton candy dreams. It’s a beautiful and romantic look that is spectacular on all women, including women of color. Opal

tends to be platinum with splashes of pastel pinks, purples, blues and even grays. It’s supposed to seem like an illusion and is very whimsical.

Platinum Blonde: This continues to be a favorite among women of all ages.

Consider weaving lowlights and highlights to give your hair more depth. Platinum blonde is not for everyone as it tends to be more upkeep. Roots will start to show

after approximately two weeks so you’ll be BFF’s with our stylist every 4-6 weeks.

Blue Hair: From striking turquoise to dark blue on black this is the latest style is keeping everyone on their toes. It looks great alone or blended with your natural color. The sky is the limit with blue hair that will never leave your life in a dull moment.

Gray Hair: Many of us spend years trying to cover up our grays, this is the year to

embrace it. Girls of all ages are stepping into their 50 shades of gray with newer tones and hues. It’s a softer look, and it’s not just of your granny any longer. This

complimentary color looks pretty with most skin tones especially if you sport a tan like most of the women do in Southern Florida.

Balayage Highlights: Balayage has been around since the 1970’s but has made its

comeback. For those of you not sure what Balayage is best when hair is shoulder length or longer. Rather than foiling or using a cap the color is applied by hand and

is typically applied to the ends. Since this can be a tricky method, your color specialist should be involved. In other words, this is not a DIY method.

Baby lights: Think of this process as a child’s highlight. Children naturally have several different tones and colors of hair throughout their cute little melons. This is an ultra-fresh and delicate technique similar to highlights. It’s much subtle than

regular highlights. As the hair is growing out, roots are less noticeable.

Ronze: This is a blend that’s great for women sporting an auburn to red color and

is a combination of copper, bronze and is more natural looking than the thick copper that many women use. A blend of golden browns and mahogany is nice to

add for dimension.

Dip-Dye: This bold new style is heading up the ombre path but thinks of more

bright and vibrant colors, dark roots, and different color ends. You can achieve this style with the help of your colorist and just remember the emphasis is on the ends,

not your overall color. Dip-Dyes can be really hot with a bouncy bob or your long tresses. With all the color rage today, there are a ton of great styles.
