In this little tutorial shows you once again my entire creative process ^_^ tools settings: feltpen 100% Pressure, 100% Softness, 100% Wetness STEP1: Open a new document and choose the canvas "essential canvas". Choose 200 dpi and size of the canvas that you want (in this example I used a 20x20cm)
I love the portraits in a special way, so I chose a young girl as a reference. Now.. in this first step I saved a number of useful colors for coloring (in order: before "the," the "face" and finally the "mouth". Any other intermediate colors will save them later.)
STEP2: Use a soft pencil to sketching in a new level

STEP3: In the level below the sketch, begin to color the background around the subject with your prefer tool (I used the paintroller because is very very fast)
STEP4: With flat colors and inaccurate lines shall begin to paint the bases of the face, the head scarf and the hair.
STEP5: Now... combine all levels you have colored, but not the pencil sketch. You will have only two layers (the pencil sketch and the layer just colored)
STEP6: really like the feltpen over the same feltpen, often creates many intermediate colors and fine shades. From the photo reference inspired to paint "light" and "shadows" (Many artists use a method which I think is wrong, adding shadows black color‌ but I prefer to add shadows pink, burgundy and purple).
Ă NOTE: At this stage of coloring you don't hold the tablet pen too long, but you must add quick shots with the felpen, creating true color spots
STEP7: This is one of the most important step. Merge alla layers and remove the trace of the pencil with the feltpen. STEP 8: go ahead now with the coloration of eyes, mouth and hair. For the teeth I haven't used white color, but I started with a warm yellow. For the eyes you can use brown color as primary basis for the next steps. To create a first effect "hair", pick the color of the forehead and with the feltpen to 100% or less, create long lines on the brown color. Then, use the "Palette Knife Flat (100% pressure)" for the mix these lines. Continue to use the
palette knife to fix the skin.
STEP 9: Use a quick shots of palette knife flat (100% pressure) for fix the background with the subject.
STEP 10: Use the PaletteKnife Flat (100% pressure) in the best way to complete the mixture of colors. Do not underestimate the Palette Knife is very powerful tool.
EXTRA TIP: to create a magical atmosphere I recommend the use of my plugin "Sweet Dream". This
filter is good for create a realistic texture for the face (for download this plugin: http://www.artrage.it/plugin.htm )
You can use the “AirBrush� for create black gradients and make it more artistic
