PERSONAL RESUME W ho wha t where when wh y h ow

My name is Stefano Parisi. I am a product designer by univer sity education and a communication designer by interests and professional experience, based in Milan. I was bor n in Milan in 1990. In 2012 I obtained my Bachelor’s deg ree in Product Design at Politecnico di Milano and I went further with my education at Politecnico di Milano enrolling in the Master of Science in Product Design for Innovation. In 2013 I took part in the inter national exchange prog ramme “Erasmus” in Lisbon, Portug al. T hanks to this experience, that strong ly inf luenced my design process and poetics, I reached the change of per spective I was aiming for. T hrough my professional experiences I improved my g raphic, research, communication and language skills; further more, I lear nt how to better relate and interact with colleagues in a work environment.

p ers o nal resum e | 0 4

Research and metadesign are my key words. I deal with design with attention for details and for the poetics of the project, with sensibility and humility. I believe in the possibility of integ rating tradition with innovation, past with future, well-established - or forgotten - knowledge with experimentation in order to generate unexpected solutions. I often draw inspiration from natural science; the main themes I focus my research on are the passing of time, g rowth, decay and imperfection. T hese are also the topics I am writing my Master’s deg ree thesis on. I am willing to deal with product, fur niture, ser vice, communication, packa ging and research projects. I am open and ready to evaluate ever y job proposal. Please, contact me if you are interested in knowing me, collaborating with me or proposing me an inter nship or job position. References are available upon request.

pa cka g ing f o r fr u i t s an d veget abl es Project designed during “Ideas boxes” one-week workshop with Ghelfi packaging company as client. Svaso is a cor rug ated cardboard packaging for fruits and vegetables addressed to large-scale retail trade and featured by a f lared basket shape and by cut out upper edges. Despite the f laring shape, in case of stacking the support is guaranteed by the dif ferent geometries of the bottom and the top: the fir st one is rectangular, while the second one is octagonal, thanks to an angular triang le-shaped face. T he peculiar cutting of of the top guarantees the joint of staked packs. Easy to assemble, it allows clients customization and good visibility for the product. Its overall dimensions are 30 x 20 x 14 cm and it is recommended to contain 2,5 kg of fruits.

Salescende (an italian pun-based name meaning both “salt falls” and “it goes up and down”) conce pt was inspired by an exploration about italian super stition. T he aim of the project was to design an object that could be able to ironically face misfortune playing with super stition. Several beliefs were considered and the most dreaded by italian people was chosen: throwing salt on the g round brings bad luck. Salescende is composed by two ceramic parts: the top, empty, to contain salt; the bottom, semi-spherical, ballasted with metal and for this reason heavier. Due to this, the salt shaker would always come back up, despite the strongest strike. T he her metic closing of the product is guaranteed by a rubber seal. A part from being a strong ly ironic, symbolic and meaningful product, Salescende is a functional object as well: easy to fill, to close and to use during ever y meal. Beside the salt shaker a pe pper shaker was designed in order to for m a set. With Deborah Grasso and Stefano Taramelli. 2014. Further infor mation on the website.

SOLID ILLUSION lig hting ob jec t

Solid Illusion is a lighting object designed with birch laminated veneer. T he material guarantees stif fness and opacity, but lets the light pass through. T he main approach I used in designing this element is object sensor y manipulation given by material: when the light is of f, at fir st sight, the object appear s made by a sing le piece of wood, solid and full inside; but when the light is tur ned on, its emptiness and lightness is reveal.

Further more, I designed the 2011/2012 main collection catalog: stapled booklet, 60 pages, 15 x 15 cm for mat.

As design consultant I managed the corporate identity, I designed packaging, communication and graphics for products, I selected colors, materials and finishes, and I participated to strategical studies and researches.
