moreganic Project Type: Academic Project Duration: 10.2013- 01.2014 Location: Turin, Italy Credits: Group work - Stefania Elettra Pantavos, Claudia Ferrannini, Alberto Spingor The project consists in the expantion and elavation of the Architecture Faculty of the Polytechnic of Turin, proposing an urban regeneration with no ground consumption. The project area is located at 10 minutes from the city center of Turin, along the park of the river Po, in an interesting context because of the chronological variety of buildings. The new building is located in the courtyard of the Gallileo Ferraris, a historical building from the 30’s, positioned at the top of the roof and arranged in order to create links with the three underlying volumes. Due to the context the new volume is proposed in sharply materials and forms in order to contrast the pre-existing ones. The cover, in close proximity with the peculiar roof of Galileo Ferraris Institute and the residences, becomes the transition element with its undulating forms.

BEIJING BROWNFIELDS Project Type: Academic Project Duration: 3.2014- 6.2014 Location: Ertong, Beijing, China Credits: Group work - Stefania Elettra Pantavos, Claudia Ferrannini, Kejd Lulja The design area belongs to the dismissed mechanical factory site of Shougang-Ertong; located at about 15 km from the city centre of Beijing. The General Plan of the city determines that this neighborhood, that will also be linked to the city centre with the underground in the next years, is meant to become in the near future a “Central Recreation District, with facilities for services, industry and leisure. The whole site is characterized by a large number of productive relics (buildings, chimneys, machines etc.), whose dimensions are in some cases monumental, and by a significant presence of infrastructures that represent a physical trace of the original functioning of the factory. Therefore is a suitable land for a design experiment whose ambition is to promote the valorization of the historic memory and its relation with the conservation of the physical objects, as well as on the processes of selection and reinterpretation of the industrial heritage.

GREEN AREAS
The intent of the proposal is to improve the spatial quality maintaining the industrial spirit of the area rehabilitating it with different functions. We decided to preserve the industrial buildings and use them as the main core. 1 The intervention develops in three phases. In the first phase we focus on the refunctionalization of the central part providing activities of general interest; once achieved the financial sustainability there would be the development in the rest of the parts of the area. 2 We tried to create an area “alive” all day long, with the fusion of different functions. The residential areas tried to follow the concept of the traditional Beijing alleys (hutong). In some cases so, we tried to reproduce the model of the chinese courtyard and in other cases, we adapted it to our needs. In the new neighborhood units there are shops and offices and common spaces in the residential parts of the unit. 3 The intention is to create an “eco area”, that would controvert the pollution that had endured in the past because of the industrial activity. The area is for the major part pedestrian, with bicycle paths, and few driveways, sided to the main axis. 4 A great attention was also given to the design of the landscape; the green areas, with different types of trees and herbs, inspired to the chinese traditional culture. 14

LA LUZ PRODUCTIONS Project Type: Academic Project Duration: 9.2014- 12.2014 Location: La Esfinge de Puerto de la Luz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain Credits: Individual work The project area is located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, near the port called Puerto de la Luz, in the foothills of the resulting land from the extraction of aggregates and materials of the port’s expansion. Urbanistically is considered a suitable site for a landscape intervention, where the physical conditions of the terrain and the topographic characteristics should be considered. The intent was to work with the ideathat the empty space is the generator of the project. We had to design a film and television studio of 9 sets, interior and exterior, of various dimensions and all the additional facilities like locker rooms, offices, meeting rooms, storage rooms, parking, gardens, terraces, bars-restaurants. The project had to focus in the creation of a system of open spaces that articulate the set through paths, sitting areas, shadows and views.

_distribution
The project proposal consints in the creation of eight interior television-cinema stages, of different dimensions, and one exterior stage, on the top of the building, where public shows can be held. The buffer space between the actual building and the exterior “membrane helps the maintance of an equilibrated hygrothermal comfort and works as the main distribution path to the different stages. 22

4_ EL PUERTILLO - REGENERATION OF A VILLAGE IN THE ISLAND OF GRAN
CANARIA, PROPOSAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF a soft TYPE OF tourism
Project Type: Academic- Master thesis in land planning and urban project Project Duration: 4.2015- 12.2015 Location: El Puertillo, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain Credits: Individual work The project area is located in a small village, El Puertillo, situated in the north part of the island, at 12 km from the capital Las Palmas. There are many reasons that justificate the selection of this particular place, one of them is because of the progressive abandonment of the banana plantations and of the farming activity that used to be the main activities of the village. Moreover, since the 70s there has been a migration of popullation to the south part of the island, where the climate is better and where the job opportunities are greater due to the touristic activity. Considering that there is already a Plan that proposes the regeneration and the reconnection of the village with new infastructures I decided to propose a “system that promotes the touristic activity, which is the main activity of the island, but in a more sustainable and friendly way, not only for the environment but also for the inhabitans.
