THE COLLECTION Stella Nova’s Summer Collection 2014 is a tribute to Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly. The collection is a modern portrait of a woman with strong references back in time. It is the meeting between the two very different types of women that form the collection. The vampy, sexy but luscious Marilyn exudes both vulnerability and strength. In contrast, the more sophisticated, cool, grown-up and very correct Grace Kelly, who is far more concerned with etiquette and good virtues. The two quotes above have been inspirational sources for the collection and it has been sought to translate them into clothing. The colors are soft and with tone in tone pastels. This has clear references back in time to the 50s. Waistline crinolines jackets with ruffles, and a raffia-like coat in wide stripes carries you back to the 50s cotes d’Azur where Grace Kelly was one of our great contemporary style icons. In addition, strong colors such as eccentric blue and deep cherry, are contrasting but interesting features. Coated lacquer-like fabrics, graphic clown stripes and metal-like jersey is a tribute to Marilyn and her ambition to do away with the conventional and boring life. The collection has an overall feminine look, but with the humor and edge that always reflects Stella’s universe. Please enjoy ....
