01 TYPE : RETAIL DESIGN CLIENT : SEPHORA, INC. LOCATION : 33 POWELL ST SAN FRANCISCO
SEPHORA
Sephora is a cosmetics and skincare retail store with international outlets. This particular Sephora is located in the heart of San Francisco’s bustling Union Square district. The concept behind the redesign of this store is actually that of “fire” - which is what Sephora means in Hebrew. The concept of fire suggests passion, warmth as well as comfort. These are the driving forces behind the design process.

MARIOT T O RESIDENC E
The concept behind this residential remodel project was the word “sleek” - suggesting unbridled masculinity and minimalism. Furniture and finishing choices were made keeping this in mind. The client requested dark wood flooring to be used throughout - this lends the interior a sophisticated ambience.

04 TYPE : RESIDENTIAL DESIGN CLIENT : PUCCIANTI & LE LOCATION : 371 27TH AVE SAN FRANCISCO
PUC C IANT I & LE RESIDENC E The owners of this existing house in the Inner Richmond neighborhood in San Francisco requested to have their property remodelled to better suit their usage and needs. The existing space was cluttered and insufficient for the new parents who entertain frequently. It was important to design a space that was welcoming and cozy for the clients of this project. Taking in mind their style preferences, the design takes its cues from the French Country style of interiors. Warm wood tones and pops of color in unexpected places enliven the space up and makes the inhabitants of the house feel right at home.

From Left to Right; Basement Floor Plan The basement space allows room for two-car parking as well as storage and laundry areas. There are two ways of accessing the basement floor, that is by the garage door in the facade of the house and the staircase in the back that connects it with the rest of the floors. Main Floor Plan The first floor is to be used as the main living and entertaining area. Multi-usage was an important mission of this project in order to maximize what little space the clients have. There is plenty of room for the family to enjoy each other’s company, be it in the reading area, open kitchen or the living room area. Upper Floor Plan The topmost floor of the residence houses all bedrooms (Master Bedroom, two Children’s bedrooms, as well as an In-Law Suite).

Dining Area The dining area is elegant and accommodates up to twelve people with the table fully extended. The subtle gold-raffia wallpaper lends the space a little bit of sparkle and glamor. Crystal sconces, a chandelier and a matching medallion also give the space a grown-up touch of luxury. The clients requested for the space not to feel closed and isolated from the other areas of the house, however, and the introduction of alcoves help to isolate the room usages without any obstacles. Topiaries are used to introduce the outdoors in an interior space.

Right, Open Kitchen The open kitchen is the heart of the house, much alike the kitchens in traditional French homes. Here, a small, lively dose of Goldenrod Yellow paint coats the wall and really help to rejuvenate its user. Whitepainted cabinets are also inspired by the French Country style. The backsplash is done in a contemporary tile-pattern that helps modernize the space. A kitchen island is multifunctinoal in this space. The clients may use it as additional work surface or an informal dining surface for the adults.
