Our past, present and future AB Runo Ahlqvist (Abra) was founded in the 1960s. The company quickly became known as a leading supplier of products to the sheet metal and ventilation industries. Today Abra is a familiar name among Nordic tinsmiths, and as can be seen from the Sunchem website (www.sunchem.se) it is now not only in the Nordic countries that Abra products are sold. In 1986 Sunchem AB acquired all the shares in AB Runo Ahlqvist. Sunchem AB and its previous owners had been supplying various products to AB Runo Ahlqvist for many years, and this merger of sales and manufacturing companies has proved successful. Today all Sunchemâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s sheet-metal parts for the HVAC industry are made in Partille, near Gothenburg in Sweden. The roof paints and rust protection coatings for metalwork and sheet metal are manufactured in nearby Getinge. Sunchem is also known for its sealant products, with a 15-strong range of adhesives and sealants that includes classics such as RUNOTEX Tix Transparent. Sunchem AB is today a medium-sized family business that has the responsibility of continuing the history, knowledge and products of our time. Close collaboration with the industry allows the company to develop products that satisfy modern demands in terms of both quality and the environment.

Sheet metal & construction sealants The Abra products are developed in Sweden to withstand tough conditions wherever in the world a professional sheet metal work is to be performed. With a climate of red-hot summer to indescribable cold, we have a long gained experience and we have been able to test our products in the best way possible. Feedback from Swedish tinsmiths has been very important for the quality of today´s products, which are constantly conquering new markets.

Frequently asked questions – Qº A Which products contain silicone? Abra Allround Silicone is the only product that contains silicone. Can you use Runotex Tix Transparent with plastic windows? No. Can you use Runotex Rubber Putty around a chimney that is a combination of metal and stone? Yes, if the joint is small. For larger joints Seal & Fix should be used. How many running metres of seam will a standard M82 cartridge seal? Approximately 25 running metres with a diameter of 4 mm.

Frequently asked questions – Qº A Can you use a solvent-based top coat on top of a water-based primer? Yes, it is perfectly fine to use (for example) Abratex Top 86 on Abratex Mönja Aqua. I have a four-year-old, previously opened can of primer with small lumps in it. Can I still paint with it? Yes, simply stir it and add a little white spirit if necessary. Can I use your paint on pre-primed sheeting for historic buildings? Yes. Wash it down with Abra Tvätt, paint with Abratex Grund primer (if the plate is undamaged, with no scratches, no primer is needed) and then two coats of Top 86. In coastal areas we always recommend three coats. Which tools should I use when painting with your paints? The paint can be sprayed or applied by brush or roller. The important thing is to use tools of the right quality, intended for the purpose. Touch-up paint should of course be applied using a recommended touch-up brush. Is the paint anti-slip? No, there is no specific anti-slip formula. The binding agent in the paint makes it safe to walk on. Can I use your paint on a plastered chimney? No, the paint is too dense, and it will crack when moisture escapes from the plaster.
