Contact: Steph Allie Heckman, Executive Director, steph.heckman@owcf.org One World Children’s Fund, 1016 Lincoln Boulevard, San Francisco, CA 94129 owcf.org One World Children’s Fund (One World) seeks a capacity building grant to strengthen the organization, leverage millions of dollars for children across the globe for years to come, and help create a world where every child has an education, healthcare, and a safe place to call home. VISION AND MISSION One World envisions a world where we all act together, as global citizens, to ensure that every child has education, healthcare, and a safe place to call home. One World is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of children around the world who are affected by poverty and lack the most basic necessities. We do this by engaging people based in the US as philanthropists, who champion grassroots organizations serving children and their caregivers. HISTORY One World was founded in 2000 by Patricia Savitri Burbank, Michael Kilgroe, and Shanti Cliff. It was founded with the same values that continue to guide and shape the organization to this day: Compassion, Community, Generosity, Reciprocity, Respect & Transparency. Over the years, One World’s innovative model has proven time and time again that it works. It works because it reflects today’s world. We are more connected than ever – through travel, migration, and technology – and at One World, we value community. Champions, Partners, and One World staff and volunteers work together and know the families and children we serve. THE MODEL

One World Champions have raised more than $4million for 36 grassroots organizations in 18 countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and in the United States. The last two years have seen an impressive amount of organizational growth. Currently, a team of 67 champions raise $500,000 a year for our 36 grassroots partners. One World’s current strategic plan projects that we will be working with more than 50 grassroots partners and over 100 champions by 2014. We project that by 2016, One World Champions will raise more than $1,000,000 annually. Operationally, One World Children’s Fund is now supported by more than 500 donors and a core team of 40 major donors that comprise the One World Founders’ Circle.

NEEDS STATEMENT One World is at a point of critical growth. In recent years, One World has increased the number of champions, the number of grassroots partners, the total amount of funds raised and grants disbursed, the number of staff working at One World, and most importantly, the number of children served. As One World grows, we need to invest in the organization to ensure that we continue to operate as A Young Girl in Nicaragua at Pre-School with Thanks to One efficiently and effectively as possible. An investment in World and our Partner, COMPALCIHT, July 2012 the organization today, will leverage millions of dollars for children across the globe for years to come. A capacity building grant would allow One World to streamline and upgrade our data and accounts management systems; train staff and maximize effective use of new improved systems; build a strong donor base; and continue to build an inspiring community of people who participate in One World workshops, discussion groups, online communities, and events so that we can work together to create a better world for the next generation.
