There was a requirement to use all the words or phrases that described GCM from A to Z. The idea of having four square of four different colors is to represent the colour mode that related to GCM, which is CMYK. I was inspired by the color swatches in one of the music video that I had watch. All the information and the logos were provided.

ICON SIGN

Descriptions: An icon sign was designed during the time in GCM 754-Sign & Display Graphics course. The objective is to create an easily recognizable iconic sign and apply it to a precut rigid substrate. I chose to design a sign that reminds people to turn off the oven after using. A magenta stroke is a vector dieline for the cutting pattern. It is created in Adobe Illustrator, which is containing artwork and a die-line prepared for a vinyl wrap for a 12x12 flat surface. Then, I used the Roland inkjet printer to print on the vinyl and cut it to its final shape Finally, I applied the design onto a provided 12x12piece of plastic, through the weeding and premasking vinyl process.

FIXTURE SIGNS WALL FIXTURE & TENT CARD Descriptions: The project’s objective is to use die-lines, place raster images and utilize our creative writing skills by copywriting in order to attract customers to try or purchase the product or service. This project is made during the GCM754-Sign & Display Graphics course. I chose the image and a salad dressing brand that I had made for a packaging project. The signs are designed using different styles of copywriting. I used conversation style for the wall fixture and bullet point for the tent card. The final design is then printed on 12x18sheets using the Xerox Phaser 7800GX and the HPColorJetM750 toner printers. Finally, all pieces are cut and scored using a ruler and an Exacto knife.

FINE ARTS

Descriptions: Half waffles are smiling, which represent my personality. I am always happy and positive. I also love to eat desserts. This painting is the one that I find most satisfied in all my artworks. The inspiration for painting this project is just because I want to have the work that simply express myself. There was a beautiful day in Hamilton. I was having brunch at my high school residence. As normal, I ate my most favorite desserts. Randomly, the half waffles that I made looks like it is smiling, Thus, I arranged the cup of syrup and whipping cream to make it looks like a face. Then I took picture of it. As a result, when I was looking at the photograph that I had taken, I decided that I was going to paint it.

After making it looks like a diadem, it looked a little bit empty. Thus I decided to add the text “Spring in Hamilton in, which is also the season and the location of this project. The process includes sketching, combining photographs, and then painting.
