Fashion never stops evolving and changing, much like feminism never stops evolving or changing — adapting to the specific social justice issues of every generation. While the fight for equal rights continues to change, the world of fashion has also play a crucial part by coming up with diverse silhouettes that support women having a stand in this sartorial world. These days, women from all walks of lives are trying to come together in everyone’s unique interpretation of style. Some of us are high femme — collecting lipsticks and floral dresses at every opportunity. Others play with gender norms, opting for more androgynous cuts and silhouettes. Others still keep things completely casual, preferring a “classic American cool” style jeans and tee combo over anything else. The pursuit of to have that luxury: to not be constricted to one look, or one person’s interpretation of femininity and womanhood. It’s hard not to thank feminism for that. Feminism is what we will be wearing in the coming year, and perhaps forever.

However, It is essential to the continued visibility of the feminist issues. From celebrites and bloggers to individauls, women across the world are disscussing the many ways in which equality has yet to be achieved, and refusing to back down. Instead, they are the ones that sparks the further conversations that are still irrevocalbly needed more of until true equality being given.

S/S 19 Fashion Lookbook Prints & Samples Having strong prints on the garment is one of the strongest ways to spread the message of feminism through dialogue, community and activism. Whoever wears them is an ambassdor of equality rights, and believes that through the cycle of society empowerment, we will alter the collective consciousness regarding the issues of inequity that feminism addresses.

Among the romantic dresses and fencing-inspired suiting on the runway there was one piece that had the fashion world talking. The title of an essay transformed into a fashion trend after Maria Grazia Chiuri made a feminist statement at her Dior debut in Spring 2017. We should all be feminist.

BIG.It’s the world that people ahve in mind when thry first think of the 1980’s.Overconsumption, oversized and just plain over-thetop were cornerstone features in this decade of excess and materialism. It was a time of abundance, optimism and unabashed greed. However, there’s another strong trend at the begining of the decade with some carryovers from the late 1970s. The early 1980s saw a minimalist approach to fashion, with less emphasis on accessories, and practicality considered just as much as aesthetics.

Aerofashion Ltd.

Women’s fashion in the mid 1980s became more colorful around 1984. This included flared skirts, slim miniskirts, slightly tapered pants and stirrup ones, designer jeans. Nonetheless, Women were becoming more confident in the workplace and are trying harder to step up in their career. More and more of these women want to fit into the management level by trying to emulate men via fashion and outward appearance to appear more masculine and powerful. Hence, they would want garments that empower them and make them look more masculine in shape. This would be accomplished with attributes such as wider shoulders with the aid of padding , larger sleeves, and needless to say, trousers

S/S 19 Fashion Lookbook Catwaks SS 14 Balmain Channelling some 80s and 90s inspiration and a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll, the collection was laid-back with an athletic vibe which created an exciting balance between cool and functional. It was all glitz, glamour, houndstooth and black-and-white checkers. The classic houndstooth was executed through a long sweater embellished with a chainlink belt to cinch the waist.

The bold prints were all over pencil skirts, leggings, dresses and bomber jackets. Other ultra-modern looks include gilded overalls, quilted separates, off-the-shoulder tops, draped denim, flared feathered skirts and crystal embellished skirts.

Certainly fashion is having an affection with it - look to Prada, look to Chanel, Erdem, Altuzarra … And look to the red carpets: Ruth Wilson in a punch of fuchsia and Kendall Jenner in a flush of blush at the Tony Awards. It’s not just the catwalk scaling the spectrum.

Unlike other feminist movements, Plus Size Campaigns have nothig to do with competing “the boys or seeking equality; this movement is all about women. Women have dismissed the notion that it is a man’s world or that our greatness comes in second to that of men. They know better than that. They want to be seen, heard and most importantly respected. This movement is about looking at the woman in the mirror, acknowledging just how amazing she is and knowing that she has the possibility to be a force to be reckoned with in every area of life.

S/S 19 Fashion Lookbook Second Theme “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” Coco Chanel If fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable then style is more about being yourself. Influenced by the feminism movement, individualism has also been put under the spotlight in the fashion world as it is believed to be the way to express oneself freely and equally. So what is individualism? Being weird? Being an outsider? Or is it just being yourself? It is the tendency for a Person to act without reference to others, particularly in matters of style, fashion or mode of thought. Moreover, it is the new view of feminism. Being who you are through the collections in your wardrobes, and not being given judgmental comment to tell you who you should be by the society. Dress to please ourself and not others. Listen to the inner muse and take chances that encounters. Don’t wear others approvals, Wear your confidence. It’s a world of Collectivism vs. Individualism.

Seeing ugly as a luxury with attention grabbing contour, colours and styling to attract a new light of fresh ideas that conflict with commercially saturated shapes and promote dressing against the grain. Although emphasis of androgyny have been in excistence for women since Coco Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent— credited from giving women a taste for masculine suits dismissing the notion that females’ busineess attire had to be more “ladylike” than there fellow male coworkers in the ‘60s— fiddlling with the gender binary through fashion was further promoted by the virtue of feminism throughout the rest of the 20th century. Furthermore, as youngsters question gender roles, they are seeking out adaptable genderless styles as a means of self-finding.
