The picturesque village of Haworth is steeped in glorious history and transports you back to a bygone era. Filled with many fine examples of 18th Century architecture, which mostly remain unchanged. The Parsonage Museum is where the famous BrontÍ family lived until 1861 and the dramatic surrounding countryside set the scene for the sisters’ writing. Take a guided tour through the village and learn about the time they spent in Haworth; and stop at a few shops along the way.

Beautiful Brontë Country Whether you are a Brontë fan, a real ale enthusiast, a student, a foodie or none of the above, Haworth has something to interest everybody. Picturesque views across the vast moorland that once provided the inspiration and setting for Charlotte, Emily and Anne’s famous novels - are fantastic for lovers of walks, both young and old. The main street through the heart of the village is cobbled with various shops, restaurants and cafés, with a tasty treat or bespoke souvenir to entice you inside.

You don’t have to be a Brontë buff or an architecture aficionado to enjoy a trip to Haworth. You can visit the heritage steam railway, which was used during the filming of The Railway Children movie. Enjoy a refreshing glass of local real ale at The Black Bull, and even accompany it with a delicious lunch. If it’s an evening meal you’re after, why not tr y the ever popular Stirrup restaurant, with their seasonal fairtrade local menu. A variety of bespoke shops line the main street - quaint little gift shops, antiques, books, jeweller y; and not forgetting the ‘must visit’ traditional sweet shop.

Haworth village hosts several events throughout the year. The 1940s weekend in May always pulls in a large crowd; with ever yone joining in the fun and dressing in clothing from the period. Ghostly Graveyard walks in December and steam train dining experiences on the heritage railway. Craft fairs and Galas, this tiny village in the heart of Brontë country really does have something to offer visitors of all ages and interests.
